I don’t have a huge number of "close guy friends". But ever since August 1992 ("New Man's Camp" for the Purdue Varsity Glee Club), I've considered @ryandavidsen a BFF (before BFF was a thing). We only spent 1 year of college together, but we packed a lot into that 1 year. Countless Glee Club shows together, cross-country bus ride seat-mates, Sony Walkman + dual headphone splitter for hours, wearing out tapes of Christian Alt Rock (Adam Again, The Choir) and soundtracks ("Aladdin", "Chess"), roommates in Australia / New Zealand / Fiji. Deep discussions about Jesus and our shared faith and how to make sense of life. Much more. Then he was in my wedding. Then he visited me in San Diego. Then somehow ~20 years went by. We caught up today for about 4 hours. This was a special day with a very special friend. Ryan - I tried to find a filter that got rid of our wrinkles, but IG just kept laughing at me.
