PERSONALITY.
it’s been a long time since anybody has seen the bright, sunshine-y girl from sloane’s childhood. if anything, that person feels like a stranger now. in her young adulthood she’s chosen a much more bitter personality. sloane is harsh and icy and won’t fight for anybody except herself. nobody has ever fought for her, after all. she knows how people see her— spoiled and rotten, a bad seed amongst a perfect family —and maybe the one defining thing that separates sloane from her family is how little she cares about what people think. far from approachable you can’t really be sure if she’ll just stare at you or rip your head off when you go up to her and most don’t try to test that. she’s quick to react and grows irritable when she feels like her time is being wasted. the select few that are in her corner (and she won’t hesitate to cut anyone off without warning) she’s fiercely loyal to. sloane loves as hard as she hates no matter how much she denies it. when she’s comfortable around you she likes to tease, but she is prone to taking things too far. her words can cut like a knife and it’s even worse when her intention is to hurt you. her emotions are intense, and years of trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms means that she still doesn’t quite have a hold on them.
THE PAST.
sloane had always been different from her siblings and in the morrison household, different did not usually bode well. she struggled to fit into the family dynamic the way that her twin and greer would. it’s easy, you just have to keep on smiling, she remembers her older sister telling her one night. for a long time, the girls were close, and sloane even looked up to the other. she wanted to be just like greer— pretty and loved and never reprimanded for saying the “wrong thing”. sloane was tough though, tougher than the two of her other siblings put together. she was fearless, often going into situations without thinking, and had a penchant for pulling pranks. there was nothing better than hiding in the hallway closet and scaring the poor unsuspecting maids or putting bugs on greer’s pillow or hiding things from her father in the most ridiculous places. it was all in good fun and as a child many had no choice but to put up with sloane’s antics. The only person she never dared to mess with was, of course, her mother.
mrs. morrison ridiculed sloane on multiple occasions, rarely hiding her disdain for her younger daughter’s nonconformity. whenever sloane laughed a little too loud or said an unsavory word or tore her new dress, her mother appeared out of thin air to berate her. nobody stood up for her, not in public anyway. the unspoken rule was what their mother said was law and sloane continued to challenge that. it became harder for her to connect with her siblings as greer would be supportive in private. her twin? forget about it. the two were as different as night and day and she knew he would never understand her the way that she wanted to be understood. no one in the family did. the older she got, the worse her mother became with the snide and judgmental comments. whenever she tried to fight back her mother knew the exact thing to say to shut her up, to make her back into a corner like a wounded animal before giving up. she would always pretend to act innocent, and sloane would always pretend not to care. too sensitive, her mother would call her whenever she eventually lashed out.
plagued by puberty and hormones, her teenage years were when her rebellion began with a bang. sloane cut and dyed her hair, she got piercings, she even led a crew of girls in her high school who were all as cutthroat and vicious as she was. she proudly commanded them with an iron fist. a morrison trait she did seem to inherit was that she knew how to take control of a group. they would party and drink and disregard all rules their parents had for them. sloane would occasionally end up on tabloids, mostly for petty crimes such as breaking and entering or driving under the influence. she would be left out of family plans, holidays, and vacations. it was a punishment for acting out as her parents would tell her. sloane took a bat and smashed the windows to two of the family cars that day. rather than submitting sloane would crash events, usually bringing her rowdy friends along, and doing everything she could to ruin it. the world that she strived so hard to be a part of suddenly became a joke to her. it was all bullshit. all of it.
THE PRESENT.
she didn’t want to go to ogden. sloane didn’t even want to go to college. her grades were subpar and if her family wasn’t filthy rich, she probably wouldn’t have graduated high school. when her mother threatened to take away essentially all the girl’s resources and press charges for sloane’s damages on family property, she begrudgingly agreed to attend the university. she had abandoned a large majority of her relationships from high school seemingly at random. people she considered her closest friends she dropped without a second thought. it was still impossible to come into ogden as a loner. her last name followed sloane wherever she went and in spite of her attempts to keep her distance, everyone already knew her as greer’s little sister before she stepped foot onto campus. soon enough, the comparisons came trickling in and sloane worked hard to shut them down. she’s calmed down since her time at high school and rather than being power hungry was now much more interested in keeping her head down. so much for that now.
HEADCANONS.
parent to a three legged, seven-year-old russian blue named beelzebub (bee for short) and a hog nose snake named agnes (after agnès varda)
she is so annoying and pretentious when it comes to film not in the "you just don’t understand pulp fiction" way, in the if you can’t talk about french new wave cinema then she isn’t interested way. her favorite film makers are julia ducournau and yasujirō ozu. she hates marvel movies and anything else in the mainstream. she says “midsummer” like “midsommar”. she thinks disney is cheesy and studio ghibli is amazing. it’s the one thing she’s truly passionate about so she takes it very seriously
sloane is very agile. she did ballet when she was younger as well as gymnastics up until her last year of high school. she was never meant for team sports, and it was the only hobby from her childhood that she stuck with
little miss potty mouth. truly she says some vile things sometimes i’m sorry
snark queen, no prisoners taken
has a large scar on her back going from her right shoulder to the middle of her back. a childhood injury after falling from a particularly large tree. the doctor said she got lucky
sloane has diagnosed depression and ADHD. she takes meds and should be in therapy but isn’t so
bisexual so she can ruin the lives of all genders. she didn’t “come out” per say. she brought over a girl she was seeing (dating would be too generous of a term) to a christmas party and told everyone to deal with it. they got high and destroyed a painting in one of the hallways before being promptly kicked out
