alec had been looking for a certain blonde all day, about ready to give up for the night as he hasn’t slept in two days. he had ran into some followers of valentine, striking them all down before taking one of them as capture to turn over to the clave for questioning. he knew it wouldn’t go anywhere as most of the followers he’s seen ended up ending their own lives instead of giving up any information about their leader. the one second alec wasn’t paying attention, the prisoner attacked him and ended up escaping. “by the fucking angel..” he mumbled, letting out a aggravated groan. opening his eyes, hazel hues landed on the one person he didn’t want to see. “what do i owe the pleasure..morgenstern.”

      “I’d say I’m surprised to see you here but …” But Jace was here. And where Jace was, Alec was always soon to follow. Perhaps to attempt to relinquish the grasp that Lilith had on the golden boy, but Simon was sure it’d be in vain. At least for now. Fingers drummed on his forearm, one brow quirked at the dark-haired shadowhunter. Always in the shadow of Jace. Simon understood something like that. He’d be sympathetic if he cared more. “Looking for your other half?”

“you say it like i don’t have a life.” alec stated unimpressed as he took another sip from his drink that he has been slowly trying to finish before the vampire that he has found annoying since the day he met him showed up. zoning in his eyes on the familiar golden blonde hair that he had came to look after, his hand unintentionally reached down to his shared parabatai rune, trying to somehow communicate with jace. he didn’t even reply to simon until a few moments of silent later. “minding your own business as usual i see,” alec replied with sarcasm dripping from each word.

alec noticed how the stranger has taken to distant herself from him, which made him slightly curious but cautious around her. hearing her speak once again, he snapped his attention back towards the girl’s voice with a fake smile he has gotten so used to mastering over the years. “quite sure, think i can handle being knocked around a bit.”

alec had been walking around the streets for no real reasoning, except wanting to get away from his duties. he had successfully left the institute without being detected, but wasn’t so lucky as people were constantly sending him messages about his whereabouts and what they needed from him. after awhile he got fed up, shooting back that he was on his way as he turned to make his way back home, bumping into someone in the process. the first thing he saw was red hair, rolling his eyes mentally as he just assumed it would be clary, before actually looking up to take in her appearance. “it’s fine, nothing’s broken,” he chuckled lightly.
