'Degrassi: Next Class' renewed for seasons 3 and 4

Degrassi: Next Class is going to make it to senior year. A day after Netflix picked up the teen drama for a second season, EW can announce exclusively that the streaming service has renewed the series for two additional seasons.

Both seasons 3 and 4 will include 10 episodes, which is the same amount as the show’s first and second seasons.

4b observations and speculations.. Mrs D's twin

Rewatching the later half of 4b and I think it’s clear (especially with the latest sneak peak) that Jessica Dilaurentis is the one with the twin. I’m pretty sure this will all have been said before but this is just me connecting the dots. So in 4x23 we see Mrs D approach Hannah on her date with Travis, just after this she is taken away by the cops. Later in this episode we see her in Spencer’s room. I think this is the twin in both instances. If we believe that Mrs D’s twin (Mrs B hence forth) was mother to Bethany young and that Hannah is BY’s twin then That would explain why Mrs B approached Hannah with such warmth and maybe why she didn’t seem overly keen on Travis (protective mum?). Later, after talking to the cops she went to see Spencer to talk about Bethany (she couldn’t talk to her because Veronica came in). Mrs D having a twin would also explain why she looked so confused when Spencer went to confront her and ask about what she saw that night. Did she see Spencer hit Ali with a shovel? If you watch the scene, you can see she looks shocked by Spencer’s actions. She would be, she never accused or thought that Spencer had anything to do with Ali’s ‘death’ from the account given by CeCe in 6x10 we know that she knew who hurt Ali. It was her twin sister who confronted Spencer, not because she thought she’d hit Ali but because she thought she had hit Bethany. The real Mrs D’s behaviour towards Spencer (eg. Not wanting her involved in the weeding show) can be explained by the fact that she was scared of her. After her crazed outburst before which from her perspective would have come out of nowhere, she’d be worried about what she might do next.

Also what if in 4x25 when Mrs D is on the phone seemingly worried about Charlotte having escaped from Radley, what if she was actually talking about her twin who she had just realised was on the loose? If Mrs D has the twin then I think that the twin story in the first secret was about her. If her twin was crazy, stabbed her and locked away (probably in Radley), then when she got out she ’d want to target her sister who had the life she felt she deserved.

What do y'all think of the new intro? I like the social media aspect and I LOVE that the old lyrics are in it. On the negative side I think it is cheesy and dates the show significantly when looking back on it years from now.... But hey Degrassi students have always been tech savvy!

So it looks like we’re going back into the dark ages when episodes aired in canada before the states again

upside is that it’s only two weeks earlier as opposed to multiple months

downside is that back in the day we didn’t have tumblr and other social media to spoil the twists and turns
