How to make a Dreamy Edit in Photoshop
Today I will post a tutorial on how to make an edit like this
Things you will need
Photoshop
A few pictures of your person or celeb
This Texture
This Png
This Image
Now first open up an 8x11 portrait style document in photoshop. Pull up your texture and stretch it to your background like so.
(Ignore the grey space)
Now use a brush, set to a 40% opacity, and paint over areas of the background on a new layer, like so.
Now paste your first image (the one you want as the main image) into your document, and then use the selection tool to cut out the background. (Depending on your image, this can be easy or hard. If you are someone who is just beginning, i would suggest choosing a photo with a solid background that is in contrast to your subject). Then delete the background.
Now I added a feather effect to my subject, this is optional. To do this, cntrl+click on the little icon of the layer with your subject. Then go up to the tool bar and click select > Modify > Feather. I picked mine as a 3px. Then again click select > Inverse and then delete the area.
Now drag the frame png into the document and set the blend mode to overlay
Now use your shape tool and put a fitting oval behind it. I would pick a color that fits the background like a pastel. Set the blend mode to Darker Color and the opacity to 92%. This may not make a difference yet, but it will soon.
Bring in another image, size it to a third of the size of your oval, and use a clipping mask to attach it to to oval. Set the opacity to 75%, and then using a soft brush eraser, and brush out a bit of the background, to your liking. I stuck pretty close to the subject, leaving a little bit of the background.
Now bring in another photo, placing it on the other side, and do the same.
Now do the same for a third picture. I used a landscape one for the third, it tends to fit better.
Now add the text/quote that you want, I used Headline But you can pick which ever one you want. I think blocky text works better for this part. After positioning your text, put the opacity to 80%
Now on a new layer, text the next line. When you are done, using the shape tool, make a rectangle the same size as the text. (I used white for my rectangle, the same color as my text, but for the sake of showing you in this tutorial what I did, the rectangle is a different color.
Now click on the little icon next your text, this should make your text selected (the little marching ants). Hide the text layer. Now click on your rectangle layer, rasterize it, (do this by right clicking it and selecting Rasterize). Then delete press delete. This should cut your text out of your rectangle. Set the opacity to 80%. The outcome should look like this.
Now using the text tool, make a square in the top right hand corner. Make all the text right hand aligned. For this I used the font Moms Typewriter, but you can pick your own.
Move the text layer beneath the layer of pink tint. Now for the last part. Take your Diamond PNG. Invert the colors, set the blend mode to screen, and the opacity to 80%. Now have fun placing them where ever you want. Rotate them, flip them, cut them out and create different patterns with them. Just be creative with it! And now your done, your outcome should look like this.

How to make this: (Requested by anon)
Open your gifs in photoshop. Sharpen your first gif. Crop it.(Mine 245x120) After that create a group. Select one of the layers and hit right click > Select similar layers. And move the layers into the group, name it A.
Do the same with the other gif and name it B.
Create a new document. (In this case 245x240) Now select all frames > Copy frames. Paste the frames > Paste over selection. Move the first group if it’s necessary. Ok, now copy the frames of the second gif and paste them and paste over selection. Move it. That’s it.
Any question ask me. Thanks!
I’ve been asked to do a tutorial on how i did this edit so here goes:
This edit’s pretty simple actually, it’s just a matter of getting your levels and curves looking ok and then it’s just a layering of the same cap

THREE TEXT EFFECTS + PSDs
So, these are very basic tutorials for photoshop beginners explaining how to make each one of these effects. Don’t get too excited about it though, because I’m pretty awful at explaining things (don’t hate me). Because of my lack of ability to communicate properly, I’ve also included psds of the effects that you can look at to get a basic understanding of each effect. (ps sometimes the first gif doesn’t work so you may need to click on it to see the effect)
