Lancelot loving Merlin is:

your secret’s safe with me. stop blaming yourself. don’t even think about lying; I know you too well. you can tell me. I look at you and I wonder about myself. you’re the bravest of us all.

But it’s also those small smiles when merlin lights the fire with his magic. When merlin saves the day but no one knows except Lancelot. Those shared glances between two people who know the other better than anyone. Between two people who love each other despite destiny or fate. Who love because they recognise a soul like their own.

Lancelot loves Gwen euphorically, openly, honourably.

But he loves Merlin silently, sincerely, gently. And as @donttouchtheneednoggle said in potentially my favourite ever post, this is how Lancelot leaves merlin.
