Going to be a little tricky over the next several days working on the novel when i can only use one hand ... had a little surgical procedure today to take care of stenosing tenosynovitis, also known as "trigger finger" ... will have to type like my grandfather: one letter at a time.

Since reading this book a few years ago, I now look for the "mirror moment" in every movie. Almost always, if the story is plotted and structured well, it's there.  Sometimes there's even a mirror involved in the scene!  Prior to this moment, in the first half of the book, the lead character is very reactive to the events unfolding around him.  After the mirror moment he becomes very proactive, taking charge, little by little, as the story runs faster and faster towards the last battle. Next time you watch a movie, time it.  It's almost always exactly right in the middle of the story, a moment when the protagonist has a paradigm change in his head and sees some new way to solve the problem or handle the conflict.
