1 - James is trans. (I'm trans and every comfort character of mine is headcanoned to be trans too)

2 - Orla is Autistic and also has ADHD

We all know Orla is most likely autistic. But what about her mom?? Sarah is too imo and beauty and fashion is her special interest. Like .... Does she ever talk about anything else? Not really. Plus she don't get some social cues like when she went with that white frock to the wedding

i ship sister michael and janet so hard,, you cant convince me they didnt at least have one of those gay little 'person A accidentally bumbs into/falls onto person B' before springing apart and muttering things along the lines of 'goodness thats improper'

something they both think about often until they finally go 'to hell with it' and some unfortunate soul (probably james) finds them together in a broom closet and no one believes them

Erin once got in trouble for punching someone when they said something awful to orla and Ma Mary was furious until she actually found out what happened and recalled her doing something similar for aunt Sarah

James and Orla are the only actual only children of the group, although James is the only one with only child energy since Orla grew up with Erin. Clare has older sisters and Michelle has older brothers.

Orla collects beanie babies and is VERY serious about it. Sarah has a cabinet that was meant to hold the fine china when not in use but since she doesn't own any fine china and has no need for it as they always eat at the Quinn's anyway, it has been taken over by Orla's beanie babies.

So we all know and love bisexual James headcanons and bisexual Michelle headcanons, but how about aroace Orla? That's how I headcanon her sexuality, at least.

Michelle is the type of person who does that thing where she'll walk into the room while someone is watching a movie or show, stand there and watch and ask questions, leave, then come back fifteen minutes later and do the exact same thing. She does this with James and his "nerd shows" all the time, because she actually thinks they're kinda interesting but won't admit it and refuses to actually properly watch them.

Orla is super sensitive to loud noises, mainly yelling. Like in that scene where James was yelling over food and she covered her ears? She hates yelling. It scares the poor thing and hurts her head. Erin is very in tune with her discomforts and is quick to cover her ears when someone starts to yell. Or sometimes Orla will grab Erin’s hands and makes her cover her ears, because the comforting touch of her big cousin helps a lot, too.

ok so this is a little niche but i've been thinking about if the kids got into dnd and what their classes would be. erin would be a ranger, orla would be a wizard, clare would be a bard, michelle would be a rogue, and james would be a paladin. orla would most likely be the one to get them into dnd.

Orla rarely sleeps in her own bed. She prefers to sleep with someone else for comfort and grounding. So she usually sleeps with Erin, and Erin has just gotten used to it because she’s a Good Cousin. Like, she’ll see Orla standing in the doorway of her room with a stuffed animal and just be like “okay, come here” and Orla will light up and hop into bed and snuggle up right next to her.

Wholesome. I could definitely see this one happening

Clare gets way too into Monopoly games, Orla zones out within ten minutes, Erin spends the entire game trying to figure out how she lost so much money so quickly, Michelle is suprisingly good at it, although she doesn't normally pay much attention, and James is just trying to play the game, goddamnit!

Orla has a collection of wilderness survival gear, including various types of knives.

Clare got sick often as a kid and the other girls would visit her to make her feel better, resulting in all of them getting sick.

Orla is nonbinary, though she doesn't know the word for. She doesn't really need to know either, she's comfortable just as she is.

From who cries the most to who cries the keast of the Derry Girls: Clare, James, Erin, Michelle, Orla. Clare will cry at the drop of a hat whereas Orla hasn't cried since her and Erin's grandma died.
