Honesty time.

I regret writing this, but as things get closer, I feel I will not have any choice in the matter.

I loved working on Willow for years and I met many of my friends because of her and other factors, but….

The comic itself took over my life. I was constantly struggling to get any comics out and I felt bitter and depressed all the time. There were even days where I would not talk to people, because I felt myself close to blowing up. With Tumblr cracking down on stupid things….I had to be away for awhile to think things through.

While I don’t want bots taking this username away, I feel defeated with many things. I have decided to write permanently in DA and by December 16th…get rid of my Tumblr for good. Blogging was toxic and wore me down mentally. I missed so much over the years that I feel guilty just being near this site. While I met MANY of my friends on here and I know people like to check up on me….I just can’t do this anymore.

Comics took too long, I have re-written Willow 5 times over the years, lost people, and now my content is being targeted. I have had enough. I am tired of the anxiety, I am tired of the depression, the self loathing and the constant feeling of being a failure to everyone around me. I will continue to write and things, but not here. Not in this environment that is dying. I am not moving to Twitter or any of those places. I am simply done.

Sorry for wasting all of your time in the last 5 years. Hopefully, someday, paths will cross again.

Deletion of this blog will take place on the 16th. And all my other blogs as well. I have saved the stuff that matters aside from the written stuff on DesertWillowLetters. I will be doing that this week before the final deletion…..

Thank you all for your years and I hope you all go on to live happier and fuller lives.

I don’t think anything could convince me to stay in social media at this point. Art is being cracked down, works will be cracked down, and I know DA might experience the same, but at least it will hurt less…..I am just grateful I have people who I am still in contact with and will even give numbers to incase Discord becomes cracked down too somehow…..

I will possibly open a discord server days before, but that is uncertain at this time. I am not sure how many want to be on that server…

Make no mistake. Once again, Willow and the gang are still my characters and I am keeping them Because I have DA and that is where the story will pick up without this sites influence.

Good and bad news.

While the comic will have to end here due to staff stupidity. Willow’s story will not end. Instead I am going back to writing and drawing as I please on Deviantart. While I am not the best writer, I can put more details in the writing than I did in comic. A revised was called for. To make it more story arc friendly was what I wanted to do anyway. If you don’t mind reading things and having pics to explain stuff, then it is better to just head there.

As far as the comic goes, I have already saved all my work from the dumpster fire, so we are good.

There is no safety here anymore and stuff of mine is already being…well you know. So

Saw the update. Here's a queestion. As a unicorn with magic, why couldn't he just move the ponies around him again and start running? He seems more than capable.

You are right. He is capable of pulling that off….When Willow’s mentality is not shattered. See, while he is very decent with magic, he has a problem concentrating on two things at once (as we all do). Magic for him takes a lot of concentration, as it is not first nature to him like most unicorns. Hell, it is not even second nature. Had he have went to a decent magic school, it would have ended up second nature.

He is more concerned about her sanity at the moment. Almost all concentration is on her at the moment. He has seen this before and to move her when she doesn’t feel truly safe is not the best idea. Plus it doesn’t help that he is surrounded by angry/crabby bounty hunters that could easily shatter not only his horn, but possibly his bones just from the stunt he just pulled with them. They don’t like it when you push passed them using magic. It is extremely rude and with Willow screaming…it looks like something worse is happening….

Willow has some form of PTSD and even though some of her friends know what to do in that situation, even Arrow forgets how to handle it. He tries, but sometimes all of the suggestions from others don’t quite get used correctly.

Arrowspate Facts:

This was possibly one of my more requested ones. So here goes nothing.

1. Arrowspate was born in the Black Hoof Tribe, a tribe that has a mix of pony and Bison with in it (bison obviously being the dominant part of the tribe) His mother, Eagle Feather was adopted by the chief’s brother and wife (who could not have calves of their own) after the tribe found her alone in the woods as an toddler.

2. He got his cutie mark at the age of 5, picking up a bow and arrow and shooting his target and hitting it perfectly. He can use the bow and arrow with his magic and his hooves. He was made to use both (by his dad and the tribe).

3. He jokingly refers to himself as the one horned bison. It has become the tribe’s inside joke.

4. Arrow’s dad’s side of the family is actually rich. His grandmother Mary Ann Coppershine, as the name suggests, is an owner of many copper mines in the West. She makes copper and turquoise jewelry from the copper she gets as more of a hobby (and her special talent), but mostly she makes a profit having it mined for her. (Fun fact: Mary is in her 90s, and looks like she is still in her 30s. She is a pure unicorn. Go figure)

5. Arrowspate calls his grandmother “Anene”. He has called her that ever since he learned how to speak. No one knows the origin of the name, but they figured it was easier for him to say than grandma. (Dove Feather calls her Nana)

6. During the first 5 years of Arrow’s life, he spent most of his days with his mom and the bison calves from other families. He also played with Dove Feather a lot. Being apart of the same herd, he use to play with Jack Widomaker and be watched over by Jasper. When Bernie was born, Arrow and them became inseparable.

7. Due to a tragedy (Jasper, Jack and Bernie’s mom dying of Scarlet fever), Arrow and his family moved away from the tribe to Bridlesdale. His mom was depressed and couldn’t even perform the simplest of tasks for the tribe after her closest family member passed. Even with other members comforting her, it only seemed to make it worse. They thought it would be best to be away from the tribe for at least a few years. While they kept in contact with Oteka’s husband in life (the pony father of Jasper, Jack and Bernie), they soon learn that he died of a broken heart, leaving Jasper to help raise the youngest member of the family, Bernie. Of course his mom couldn’t stay away if it meant Arrow couldn’t grow up to be a strong warrior like the other calves and foals. She would bring Arrow to visit for extended periods (encouraging Ballista to go to for father/son bonding), thus allowing her son and the Widowmaker kids to stay in complete contact and grow up together.

8. Arrow was taught how to fletch by is dad and the tribe. He knows how to fletch in the primitive and the modern way.

9. One of the things Arrow is known for is the use of magic crystals in some of the arrows be makes. Some would explode on contact while the more specialized ones will instantly freeze anything it makes contact with and surrounding area, use lightening magic and even set something a blaze. He only uses these for VERY rare instances of extreme danger. With these he also has to use his own magic to keep the bow and arrows steady.

10. When galloping after someone, he uses magic to stabilize his weapon of choice. When still and shooting from a long distance, he uses his hooves.

11. Arrow worked with his dad in his Fletching business in Bridlesdale. He also went to weapons conventions with his dad to promote his brand. His main passion however were archery competitions he would get into. This was both to show off his passion and promote his dad’s business. He did this while balancing school and his social life.

12. At the age of 13, Arrow had to prove he was worthy to be a warrior for his tribe by wandering alone into the wilderness to fend for himself for 2 weeks. He came back with food for the tribe, roughed up and fine.

13. The year after he met and dated a mare name Strawberry Creme. One day, the both of them got caught in a heat of passion (because she was in heat. This was also the first time Arrow actually had sex.Teen hormones…and I right?) and she ended up pregnant. Wanting to take responsibility, he propose to her and she said yes. While the Strawberry’s family was not happy with the situation (at least at first), Arrow’s family was proud of him for taking responsibility. The tribe however, saw Arrow as a complete idiot (for his true mate was revealed to him at a young age during a ceremony). Even the Widowmakers didn’t like Strawberry and thought something wasn’t right. Regardless though, Arrow was blinded by his feelings for her and waiting to meet his foal.

14. Arrow took up bounty hunting early with the Widowmakers, but only started taking it seriously once he was married with Strawberry. His mentor was a stallion by the name of Dusty Trail, who was the friend of Bernie’s father. The trio took down bounties together one after another, helping Arrow make enough money to have a place of their own before the foal was born.

15. Arrow was at an archery competition when Strawberry went into labor. Bernie took her to the hospital to deliver. By the time Arrow came the hospital, he missed the delivery, but got to hold his son Toffee Crunch for the first time. The moment became real to him and he cried as he held the gift that he brought into the world, paying no mind that Strawberry has long since passed out from the delivery (he didn’t want to wake her just yet after what she had been through).

16. While Strawberry went out shopping, got her mane done or what ever she was doing, Arrow took Toffee with him bounty hunting or sometimes left him with family. It depended on the outlaw. Bernie would take the little one the most, because they loved it when others asked “Is that your son?” And Bernie would always say yes.

17. Arrow lost his shit when Dusty was killed by a band of outlaws. In a blind rage, he took out all his bows and arrow he had and death rained upon them. None of them survived the barrage. To this day he doesn’t remember it well. Only remembers what Bernie told him.

18. His marriage became strained after Dusty died. It got to a point where nearly every time he came home, a fight would start about something. One day he came home to a spat between Bernie and Strawberry. One that ended with Strawberry taking their son and leaving their home. Strawberry filed for divorce and went to court for full custody for Toffee. She wins (due to having a very dirty lawyer and the fact she was the birth mother) and takes their son away for the last time. Out of all the members of the family, Arrow was the most devastated for losing his son.

19. He turned to drugs, large amounts of alcohol and sex with random strangers to deal with his pain. Nothing truly helped for long. It got to the point where Arrow nearly died of alcohol poisoning and was brought to the hospital. Through the support of his family and friends, he was able to get back on his hooves. Though now his sister has to watch how much alcohol her brother drinks, to make sure he doesn’t go overboard again. (Even Willow helps in that department, on request of Dove Feather).

20. Arrow helped build the White River Dragon Inn and still carries on how she should have built it in town instead of a possible location. She gets angry at him, because he was right and she was wrong.

21. He still bounty hunts to this day, though it was only as recent as 6 years ago that he became Willow’s main mentor in bounty hunting, along with the others.

22. Arrow did take his job seriously, especially after an incident that left Willow not the same afterward (which he feels responsible for). He trained her the way he was taught and even took her to the tribe to be spiritually cleansed. He would get upset when she would get hurt, but try to not show it. Especially when the others got too tough during training. Even now, he sees her as a somewhat delicate flower. He is aware of how strong she is, but he is also too aware of her emotional state.

23. When Willow tried to seduce him, he tried to reason with her. Tried everything under the sun to point out everything wrong with the situation. Somehow, she convinced him. Next thing he knew, they were experimenting and screwing like rabbits. When they were stressed out or just needed company, they would just screw until they were exhausted. Arrow got shit for it when others figured it out and was even beaten by his sister and Jack, claiming it was sick and wrong (even though she was of age). It eventually stopped when Willow defended him and screamed at them to fuck off. Many months later, Arrow asked to marry her during their intimate time and that was the LAST TIME they had sex.

24. After they stopped, Arrow one day needed the attention and Willow refused. He was gonna try to take the long trip to Neighwood to possibly find someone, before Barnaby stopped him. Didn’t help that Barnaby at times looked as pretty as a female. Barnaby was more smooth with his approach. Arrow, desperate decided to take Barnaby’s offer and they slept with eachother. Let’s say dress up got involved to make it work….at least on Arrow’s end. This was the same incident where Willow catches Arrow in HER underwear. It did not end well…how anyone got her underwear is anyone’s guess…

25. Arrow rarely sleeps around anymore. Especially since he has his eyes on someone.

26. He has dated Hematite Rose in secret, but it didn’t work out. The chemistry wasn’t right and her father was very disapproving of Arrow. Which…made dating nearly impossible without feeling uncomfortable. (Willow still thinks he has a crush on her.)

SILLY FACTS:

27. Arrowspate has been fooled by honey trap several times in his career and still gets shit for it.

28. Him and Bernie use to go swimming together a lot when the day was right, especially when visiting the tribe. Even when he was married to Strawberry.

29. He was oddly jealous that Dusty and Bernie got a little too close. Even bringing up the fact that Bernie was too young for him and need to stick with the mares HIS AGE he had been screwing with. Not with someone who JUST became legal. Became even more huffy when Dusty said that there was nothing wrong with it and can fuck off.

30. Him and Neighwood’s favorite mortician visit and even make morbid jokes together. They have a friendship going on to this day, even if she has a very jealous husband.

31. To help entertain Jasper’s daughter (Bernie’s niece) Pumpkin Seed, they would constantly mess with Thomas (Jasper’s wife/husband) by randomly screaming from behind the couch “SAAAAAIIILLLLL!!”

32. His two funniest outlaw stories involved Bernie and one of them Dusty. One was where two rams were trying to get away from them only to be stopped by a wooden fence. The other (which involved dusty), involved passing by farmland seeing two steer, trying to find each other around a large tree stump. They screamed “WHERE ARE YOU” and “I DON’T KNOW WHERE ARE YOU” for hours before they decided to move around the stump to loose each other again.

33. Arrow is unsure whether he is truly bisexual or he is just this way do to a reason he keeps to himself. Other than Barnaby, he has not had sex with other males. Though some make him very confused on occasion (Damn bird)

34. He has smoked peyote and drank peyote tea many times. Mainly for ritualistic purposes. When younger, he would have hallucinations all the time. Now it doesn’t effect him as much. He hates tobacco though. It smells terrible to him.

35. Dove Feather and him, even as adults, bicker like a couple of kids without their parents present. She grabs him by the ear when he is being stupid and he pulls her mane when she is acting too mom like. He even sticks his tongue out at her. When he is feeling devious, he gets some help from Bolt to pull pranks on her. She punishes them by making them clean the entire inn. They have to do it if they don’t want to pay a higher rent fee. They will talk shit about each other and even tell the most embarrassing stories about their sibling as if trying to gain the upper hand. Not to mention the stupid dares they would get into and follow through. In the end though they love each other and if one is in trouble, the other will be there by their side.

36. Even as an adult, Arrow is afraid of Thomas when he takes out a sandal (which he spanks with). The moment he sees it, he RUNS until he can’t see the town anymore.

37. He gets in wrestling matches with Bernie all the time. Always for fun, but ends up being rough to the point where what ever object was near them was destroyed. That is why they are not allowed to wrestle in the Inn anymore.

Not so silly facts:

38. Out of all of the friends he has now, aside from the Widowmakers, he gets along best with Frank. They talk the most with each other as adults and even work decently together in bounty hunting.

39. He still sees his parents from time to time. His dad still has his Fletching business, but now works at home instead of renting a building. His mom still cooks for him. They moved much closer to the tribe so they can be near them. The forest a nice place to work and just enjoy the rest of your days. He does go to conventions still to show off his dad’s merch, by demonstrating it.

40. While Arrow would like to go back into Archery competitions, he feels he doesn’t have enough money to continue that kind of passion. Thus why he continues to bounty hunt. He has been thinking of other jobs, but none have piqued his interest yet.

41. He still thinks about his son and silently cries himself to sleep on some nights. Willow is aware of these nights and always comforts him like he comforted her when she was recovering.

42. He essentially raised Toffee with Bernie. Strawberry barely did a lot as a mom.
