Paul Brandt Lyric + Image (unmatch) - ‘On The Inside'

I wanted to take a humorous approach to the lyrics, so I used this image of steak sliced up, to describe that the steak is more beautiful on the inside. The song is about Love for a woman/SO, but making it about steak, just makes it funny and I honestly think this could be a good quality steak/meat ad lol. I used a formal cursive typeface again for this image, but one that is more clean, smooth and formal in order to make the feel more sophisticated, high-end, classy, and also to compliment the sleek photographic style of the image, so that it doesn’t seem like a joke, but a real statement being made about the steak. It feels like a real love affair for that fresh, juicy, rare piece of meat lol

Paul Brandt Lyric + Image (match) - ‘On The Inside’

I decided to use this image to describe the lyrics of On The Inside, because Paul Brandt is talking about how he believes his lover is more beautiful on the inside when he looks in her eyes. I love how the girl is holding some babies breaths to her face, just showing her eyes in a white dress, because it highlights her dark features and beautiful eyes. She comes off soft and lovely with the dress, babies breaths and the field setting together. It’s organic and natural. I feel that’s what Paul is getting at. I paired the image with a cursive typeface that has some extra curl at some points, which adds more sweetness, and softness to the typeface. I matched the color to coordinate with the green landscape in the image, to help the words stand out against the bright sky, but also blend well with the image. By placing the lyrics above her head, I felt it introduced the image well and created balance with the horizontal lines of the landscape and white sky space. I further blurred the typeface's edges as I felt that it helped blend it in to the image even more.

Go Inside ‘The Art of Movement’

The husband-and-wife duo behind NYC Dance Project present a compendium of their visually striking photographs.

Halloween Themed Knoll

The idea behind this knoll was to create a spiderweb from mostly orange candy against a black background, because orange and black are the main colours that represent Halloween. Also, by using orange candy against a black background, the eye can better focus on the Halloween candy itself, due to the contrast of the black against bright orange colours. Overall, I don’t think it actually looks like a real spiderweb, but more like a wheel of Halloween candy, which is fine. I believe it represents Halloween. There is line symmetry through out, and the colors and shapes of the candy flow nicely together. By keeping the larger candy as the outline of the wheel, and then scaling down by using smaller candy within the wheel, the eye is better able to steadily focus inwards towards the middle point of the wheel.
