Letter to a Developer

Hi Adrian,

Just giving you a heads up re the Google Maps plugin...

I've done some heavy refactoring and feature additions to the plugin, in the sub-folder /tidier-version. It's not too far away from a thorough test and bug-fix, then release candidate.

The heads up is that I've realised the codebase for this is getting heavy IMO, so I'm going to take a leaf out of the Raphael JS library book, and pull it apart into smaller chunks that just add to the core plugin. The core will remain as:

Basic maps

Markers, Marker Images, Info Windows

The extra plugins will include all the other features. I think this the better option to give more flexibility as the codebase grows for each feature.

What are your thoughts? I appreciate your feedback as this is my first jQuery plugin.

Heather Saxon

I love my Heather. I would never be without the knowledge that she will be there, it would kill me dead inside.

She says such wonderful things to me, I was talking to her in the sweet shop she used to work in, and randomly, out of nowhere she said

I need her for that. There's so much in the world that makes me sad, apart from her. She makes it all better, every day.

Standing up on trains

I can never understand why people in Britain stand up so early on trains? Standing up on a train full of seats 5 mins before it gets to your destination just seems, well, just plain stupid to me. Are you that obsessed with queuing? The train isn't going to rush off with you hanging out of the door, so don't panic about getting off so fast.

Chill! Take a load off at least until it stops, I mean, it's not like you can go anywhere until all the panic stricken standard move out of the way, is it?

And we can change it any time we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, not work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.
