Can you discuss trans Kurapika? There's not enough content for him!!
By discuss you mean like, stating which canon evidences we have of Kurapika being trans? Because my friend, there are a lot!! I’m gonna list the main ones.
First of all, there’s them wearing a something that looks a lot like a black binder/sports bra under their clothes in several scenes in the manga and the 1999 anime, and in one scene in the 2011 anime.
Another pretty big evidence is the fact that they’re the only main HxH character that is never shown with their bare chest. In the 1999 anime they take a shower in one scene, and the only thing that is possible to see is their head and shoulder (while Leorio, on the other hand, is shown from the waist up when he takes a shower). In the beach illustration of chapter 209, they’re the only one of the gang who is wearing a tank top over their swimming trunks. Even in the manga cover of the 14th tankobon, in which they appear naked, their chest is purposefully left blank and featureless.
Then of course you have this coversation that takes place when Kurapika kidnaps Chrollo during the Yorkshin City Arc.
What you can get from this bit of dialogue is that 1 - Kurapika choose to dress up as a woman for their disguise, knowing that they could easily pass for a girl while the troupe was looking for a guy, 2 - They seem comfortable with wearing feminine clothing around their friends, and 3 - They also tell Chrollo not to just assume their gender solely from their appearance.
There’s more (I remember someone saying that their gender was never confirmed in canon, but I can’t find any proof to it at the moment), but from what I have listed I think it’s obvious that there’s no way in hell Kurapika is cis.
It doesn’t matter whether you consider them a trans guy, a non-binary person or a closeted trans woman, it’s impossible for them to be a cis guy.
I believe this is the source for the bit about their gender never being confirmed. I’m not 100% sure what it’s from, but it looks like the character profiles they used to sometimes include in issues of the Shounen Jump magazine.
This is a good comprehensive post so I wanted to add, just as more information, that probably the clearest case of gendering applied to Kurapika is in the Phantom Rouge movie which animated their childhood with Pairo….there they refer to themself with “ore” pronouns, in contrast to the rest of the series where they use “watashi” (which is gender neutral and also implies that they are not speaking their native language). I know the Phantom Rouge movie isn’t canon, but those particular scenes are based off a manga special that Togashi did write, so it’s safe to assume those are the pronouns they use in the manga as well.
This doesn’t invalidate any of the above info tho, or any headcanon, just implies that as a child at least, Kurapika was purposefully presenting themself masculinely. Actually, Kurapika using “ore” as a child might also imply that they were really making an effort to appear tough/manly, since most boys their age would’ve used “boku”.
