Together we will save the world pt. 10
Klaus had left the table at some point, acknowledging you with a sigh and slight smile that you returned. You stayed at the table, drinking your coffee. At some point you got out your music, trying to relax a bit. Then you got up to actually eat something. It felt a little criminal to search through a kitchen that wasn't yours but you didn't wanna go outside to get something. You wanted to be there for when Five showed up again.
You really hoped that he would show up for you. That you wouldn't be left alone by him and his plan. You silently begged the universe to let you stick around. What could you do anyways now? Or well.. What would you want other than that?
You managed to force the food past your worries. The last two gulps of your coffee were already cold. The music went by, not really noticed by you but still cherished for it's existence in the first place - at least it wasn't completely silent.
This mansion really creeped you out somehow. There was just something slightly unsettling. You subconsciousness registered all the little things that weren't completely normal from your point of view. The talking old humanoid ape man, the robot mum, the siblings' powers. It wouldn't surprise you if the old patriarch Hargreeves was still around in another form of matter.
A shiver ran through your body. No thanks.
You didn't leave the kitchen, sitting in that chair and looking around while jamming to some of the songs. Because hey, if you didn't manage to stop the whole damn apocalypse you could at least have some fun while doing so.
What was the appropriate way to deal with impending doom anyways? Sulk and regret? Do everything you every wanted to do? Do something risky because what does it matter? Or just constantly panic? A day long panic attack didn't seem very desirable.
People would probably say that you chose the 'doing something risky' path but oh well. At least you didn't go down in that damn café, serving coffee to rude costumers. Or sitting alone in the flat that was so empty without someone else. Or wandering through the park, watching the dogs and children running by.
You almost jumped out of that damn chair when Five suddenly zapped into reality in front of you. He'd gotten dressed in one of the many sets of that monstrosity. The determined glint was back; you could see it in his eyes even from the other side of the table.
"Hey", you said dumbly and he raised an eyebrow. Great, that's not how you convince him to let you stick around. You tried to hide your embarrassment by concentrating on turning off your player and taking off your headphones like it was a really challenging task.
"I have a plan", Five said and thankfully didn't comment on your behavior, "Luther stormed off to somewhere, so we'll have to work with Klaus."
"Okayyy", you stretched the word awkwardly, "How about you first eat something? You didn't even finish your coffee. And I definitely didn't see you eat anything." You saw that he wanted to protest and quickly added: "Do you really want me to elaborate on this again? You know, repetition is the key."
He sighed while rocking back and forth on his heels. Oh, he was struggling. He probably wanted to jump right into action and even the fact that he had to explain his plan was bothering. "Fine", Five huffed out eventually and turned around sharply.
He did quick work with preparing his breakfast and sat down in front of you. You leaned back and extended your legs. While doing so your ankle brushed his and you were ready to withdraw but then he pressed back. His head hung quite low but that didn't stop you from spotting the blush. Oh, so it was intentional. A tingle started where your ankles brushed and shot up your leg.
Unfortunately he had those damn high socks on. Or well, maybe not unfortunately. Feeling his bare ankle against yours might've sent you into cardiac arrest like someone from the 18-hundredths seeing a sliver of skin peek from under a woman's skirt.
Would it be too much if you reciprocated the pressure intentionally? You didn't wanna ruin this moment. While you were still in thought and tried to asses the situation Five moved his leg and you felt your heart drop thinking he's moving away again. Instead he hooked his ankle more around yours.
Good lord, Five would manage to kill you before the apocalypse could even try. The heat shot up into your face so quickly you got dizzy. You didn't look up at Five, gaze locked on the table now as well. Okay, you can do this. This was more than clear. This was a giant blinking arrow set up in the middle of nowhere.
You shifted the weight of your leg more towards his, pressing back. Please never let this moment end. The damn apocalypse could wait. You obviously had a chance here. Oh shit, this was a huge crush and you hadn't even noticed.
(Okay, maybe you also just intentionally had not looked at this. It was a bit much for the current situation. If Five had been someone else, you could've made a move long ago with the knowledge of death around the corner. But this was Five Hargreeves, the boy who ran around the entirety of time and space to save his dysfunctional siblings that couldn't even hold it together for more than two minutes.
No, you couldn't approach him with your feelings even if he obviously felt the same. He wouldn't dare to loose his focus on his mission. The thing you could do was consisting of making sure he took care of himself, carrying him when he couldn't walk anymore, speaking up against his siblings when he didn't dare because he deep down loved them too much to risk it and having small moments like this with emotional and physical closeness to remind him of his own valid feelings.)
Much to your dismay, this moment ended way too soon. Five was finished with his breakfast. He gave you two a little bit more time to stay interlocked. But then he got up, taking back his leg, and you felt the urge to pull his whole body back towards you - of course you suppressed it. Instead you got up as well and then trotted after him like a duckling.
You ended at the other siblings' bedrooms and found Klaus laying on the bed making a terrible attempt at knitting. "Oh hey"; he sounded exhausted with that ting of madly amused he seemed to have adapted.
"Get up, we're going", Five started right away again. "Where?" "To save the world."
"Dad tried to get everyone together for stopping the apocalypse, right?" "Yeah, and he succeeded", Klaus sighed out and moved to edge of the bed. You were leaning against the wall, still disappearing into the background but ready to step out if you needed to give someone shit. That's also why you couldn't hold back your sarcastic snort this time. You were sure Five and Klaus understood your disapproval towards their father as a whole.
"He killed himself a week before it happens", Five continued while Klaus put on some more clothes, "I had to travel to future to know what happens. But Dad can't time travel. So, how'd this bastard know to kill himself a week before it happens?"
"Oh, well-", Klaus answered but was cut off. "That was purely rhetorical", Five countered with a deadpan look, "Our whole lives he told us we were training to save the world from an impending apocalypse."
"I always just thought he did that to scare us into doing chores", Klaus commented. "Well, me too. But somehow the old man knew what was coming and preparing us. And his plan to get us together succeeded. So, we might as well do that."
"Save the world together?", Klaus asked, "You and I? And your darling?" The last bit was directed at you. Your eyes grew wide and blood shot to your ears while you tried to not look at Five. You heard Five sigh deeply: "Yes. Not my ideal choice. Actually for once having everyone around would be good, but oh well."
Five left the room and while doing so finally made eye contact with you again. His cheeks tinted pink when you shot him a tiny smile. You followed after him but not without a comment from Klaus about how Five had "trained you well". You flipped him the bird (of course in a playful way) and he chuckled.
Apparently Five comment about having everyone around worked at least partially because in the hallway you were met with a hectic Diego rushing towards his room. "Where have you been?", Five asked accusingly. "Jail", his brother answered and got on his comical knife gear.
"Allison's in danger", he added and got you all going with that. Five took the car keys out of Diego's hands and scoffed at his protest. He got a scoff back when he made sure that you were sitting in the front next to him. Klaus was apparently very amused by you two and wore a crazy grin while getting in the backseat.
Diego uttered his guess as to where Luther had been fleeing and soon you stood in front of an Irish pub. Inside you were greeted by the sight of the handful day-drinkers that drowned their grief in alcohol. Among sat Luther, alone at a table and easily to spot thanks to his size. You approached him all together but all he did was scold at you to go away.
Diego shooed you away to talk one-on-one with the grumpy man and the other three of you leaned against another table lurking. "I could use a drink right now as well", Five muttered. "Me too", Klaus sighed out desperately. You snapped your fingers at both their faces.
"Come on, I thought you wanted to focus. Believe me, I could use a drink too by now - actually multiple. And a cigarette would be heaven right now. But", you pointed at their brothers, "I think we're gonna go running out here very soon."
Luther was still in dismay at the moment but then Diego said something - probably about Allison - and just as quickly as the shock washed over his face, he got out of his seat and got out the door (not without halfway ripping it out of it's hinges). Diego tried to rescue that door somehow while you quickly pulled Five outside by his hand. Getting in trouble because of that would not be helpful.
You once again piled into the car. Luther and Diego squeezed into the backseat and thankfully for you and Klaus - or well, just Klaus because Five had already made sure that you're sitting next to him - the front had enough space for three people. Diego told Five the address of the house Viktor and his psycho boyfriend would most likely be and therefore probably Allison too.
You had scooted as close as possible towards Five. In such a crowded space you didn't hesitate that much about touching him in some way. Klaus had pulled up his legs and slung his arms around - you guessed he was like a cat, somehow just fitting into every space. The radio sat right in front of you and the silence was unbearable.
You flipped through the available channels and decided on one that didn't have this light happy music that would be way too ironically unfitting to the current mood. Every now and then you bobbed your head to it and noticed Klaus slightly dancing too. Diego and Luther in the back still had a moody cloud around them.
Luther was obviously the most nervous. He kept leaning forward to press if Five could drive faster. The next time he asked, Five sharply answered: "If you ask again, I'll burn you with (Y/N)'s cigarette lighter." You snorted and took it into your hand: "Only if I get it back again. Was my dad's."
"Well, duh", Five answered once again deadpan. Oh, either you had brushed off on him or he just started showing another side of his. You were really worried about Allison and Viktor who probably didn't even know yet what kind of freak had attached himself to him. But at the same time the whole situation got to you in a weird way that made you freakishly amused. Maybe Luther also just evaporated a cloud of alcohol so huge that it affected your systems as well.
It got dark, the streets became emptier and your surroundings more rural. You hummed to some of the songs while trying to stay awake. Driving this far was really tiring. But finally you arrived. The house was quite secluded, standing in the forest.
Five pulled up at the side of the house as quiet as possible and you made quick procedure to pile out of the car. It was suspiciously quiet. Either Allison hadn't arrived yet, had managed to calmly escape or something terrible had happened.
When Luther ran through the door after glancing inside, you knew something bad was the answer. You squeezed through the door and past Diego in a hurry to see something as well and were met with Luther holding out a bleeding Allison while calling out her name. Klaus stood at his side, a hand on his shoulder panicking just as much. Diego and even Five seemed to have gone into some kind of shock.
She was bleeding from her throat and somehow still conscious while chocking on words that wouldn't come out. Only more blood followed. Her siblings all hadn't acted much further and didn't make the impression to do so quickly enough.
So, you stepped up. Fell to your knees on Allison's other side and instructed the whimpering Luther to stabilize her head properly. You were thankful that one of the things you'd learned early on where even how to act in such situations. You got a piece of fabric from Five's hideous blazer to wrap around her throat and hopefully create enough pressure to stop some of the blood flow.
"Okay, come on", you hurried while holding their sister's throat together, "We gotta get her out here!" You managed to get back in the car and started the speeding towards the academy. Hopefully before Allison bled out completely.
A/N: I'm back with another part! And I can actually start seeing the end of the season approaching! Not so sure when part 10 will be ready. Right this moment I'm a little stuck and unhappy with the few words I already have there.

Together we will save the world pt. 9
Grace made sure that Five was moved to his room where she checked the bandage again. Only then had you realized that the room you'd been staying at before was not his actual childhood room and you were quite glad to see at least the approach of some personal belongings in the one you sat in now.
Allison and Diego were standing in the door frame but didn't want to come in apparently. You had placed Delores in a comfortable armchair to the left of Five and had gotten a chair for yourself on the other side. You heard his siblings start talking and were able to catch a few words. Diego wanted to go on but Allison was unsure and you were glad to hear that she recognized how much they needed Five who was still sleeping soundly and in no condition to go on right now.
But then Diego held up the file, he talked about an address and then his sister complied. She looked back at Five and then caught your gaze. "You're going on", you said, it wasn't a question.
"Yes", Allison sighed, "We don't have much time and meanwhile so much could've already happened to Viktor. He's still nowhere to be found." You nodded and looked back at Five's face again. "He's gonna want to know where you went and if you found something useful", you commented. You heard her sigh again: "We're gonna try to contact once we can." You nodded faintly, then saw her turn away and heard her footsteps trying to catch up with her brother.
"Don't be mad at me for not holding them back", you said to the still sleeping figure next to you, "They're your siblings. I can't tell them shit." You looked at his face for a little longer, waiting for a twitch, for him to open his eyes or whatever. But still nothing.
You sat back and got comfortable, then looked around his room. The amount of books was one of the first things you noticed but weren't surprised about. You even saw a few posters and other decoration that implied that he'd had some more interests and hobbies. In the end, you decided to go through the books and find one that seemed interesting. Next to the science stuff you found actual novels, some more classical literature but also, sprinkled in between, sci-fi and a little bit of fantasy.
You went for one of those and then plopped down in the chair again. You started reading but every now and then you would look up and see if Five had opened his eyes without you noticing. Still no, so you went back to reading. But it was only half-hearted. You weren't able to actually focus on the happenings and the names of multiple characters more or less flew by.
It got late, very late, Five still wasn't waking up, instead you got tired. So, eventually, you laid down the book and then had to decide if you'd try to uncomfortably fit yourself in the chair to sleep, get a pillow and some blankets on the rug or if you'd try to squeeze next to Five. Going upstairs to the more familiar room was no option for you, you wanted to stay close in case he woke up and needed something.
You decided on the rug and went upstairs quickly to get the things from your former room. You were already yawning way too much while setting it all up and then practically crashed into the cushions. You'd left the door open a few inches, being unsure about closing it completely in your hazy state.
You woke up a few times briefly by sounds somewhere in the house but you couldn't quite place it and quickly drifted off again. You might as well had been dreaming and sleep was too precious and sweet to not fall into it.
—
The next time you woke up it was light outside and you heard a bell from somewhere. Then you heard the voice too, it was Klaus. You were almost ready to turn around and doze off for a little longer but then you heard a groan and shot up to look at Five.
He was slowly opening his eyes, blinking away the light and starting to move his hands again. You quickly untangled yourself from your makeshift bed and sat down on the edge of his mattress.
"Morning", you said, your voice still raspy from barely waking up yourself. Your hand hovered over his for a second but then you placed it in your lap again. Five let out another groan, looked around the room, then focused his eyes on you.
"How much time?", he asked immediately while blinking up at you and wearing that frown again. "It's the next morning. They got the shrapnel out and then moved you here so you could rest."
"Well, I've rested enough", Five said, determination glinting in his eyes. He tried to sit up, then hissed and placed his hand on the place of his wound. "Careful", you rushed to stabilize him and then helped him sit up. Grace had come by in the evening and dressed him in matching pyjamas with the umbrella logo. You had to admit that this didn't look as bad as the uniform at least.
"I need a coffee", Five said after a few moments of looking at you and then at the room again. "And I need to see who's here for the next steps." That was your cue to tell him about the other two and that they'd left to look at the address. Of course, he made a face, unhappy about not being able to take matters into hand himself. You countered with your own look - a threat to scold him about his wound and his tactic of not letting someone take care of it - and he refrained from commenting.
Instead he got up - with a little help from you - to go get his precious coffee. You trailed behind, ready to catch him again or at least support him in case he wavered, but he made it to the kitchen quite fine. There you were also met with Luther and Klaus - so it had been his voice earlier. He seemed quite joyous with a tint of craziness - so, like the usual you'd seen of him.
Luther, on the other hand, seemed very unwell, hood over his eyes, slouching in his seat and desperately clinging to the cup of coffee he'd been handed before Five snatched it from his hand. Klaus poured another two cups and handed one to you too then. You thanked him and took an eager sip. Meanwhile, Five complained about it's quality.
"Alrighty", Klaus took the word while you sat down next to Five, "since we're as much complete as we can be right now, imma call in a meeting!" When he used the spatula to knock on the table Luther groaned and slumped deeper in his seat. Huh, hung over?
"Okay", Klaus continued after getting only a non-impressed look from Five, "I'll just spit it out. Get it over with." Nonetheless, he stayed silent for another moment. Unsure and contemplating whether he should tell them whatever he wanted to tell them.
"I..", he finally continued but stretched it out a little more and even though he didn't actually make the sound you could feel Five sigh next to you. You had to suppress a smirk - even though you weren't of much importance or attention right now you didn't wanna be impropriate. Instead you took another sip of coffee.
And then Klaus continued properly, telling them about meeting their dad's ghost or whatever - without getting much reaction at all back. Luther only telling him he doesn't want to play his games while Five was still silent. Klaus tried again. You felt a little sorry for him. You didn't know whether he was telling the truth but a little trust from his siblings would've surely been nice.
"Alright, I'll play along", Five finally joined in, "What did the old man tell you?" He had that shit eating grin plastered on his face again. You just took another sip of coffee, this was no moment for you to be very present.
"Ah, you know the usual about me being a failure and a mistake", Klaus answered, "yada yada yada. But then he talked about his murder. Or, well.. the lack thereof." Luther sighed: "Okay, sure. I need an aspirin."
"Left cupboard, next to the crackers", Five told him and Luther got up. "I'm being serious!", Klaus insisted, "He told me. He did it himself." "He committed suicide?", Luther chimed in again, "That doesn't make sense. There would've been signs. Strange behaviors."
"Like randomly sending someone to the moon?", Klaus commented. Luther looked at him angrily. "Also, didn't he stay in his office for days on", Five joined in now. "I still don't see it", Luther protested, "why would he do that?"
"He said it was the only way to get us all together", Klaus explained but was met with another disgruntled reaction. He'd already opened his mouth to continue defending himself when another person stepped in.
"Your brother is right." You almost twisted your neck with how quickly you turned your head to look at Pogo. He was standing in the doorway, slightly jittery leaning on his cane, worry and something similar to guilt plastered on his face. He gave you a brief nod passing by. You started to like him, he was really nice to you.
"I have to admit..", he came to a halt closer to the brothers, "I helped him with it." Everything in Luther's face dropped, then tightened again. Klaus was just as surprised but also finally lifted his gaze again, now that there might actually be reason to believe him again. And Five did an eyebrow raise that you could only read as equally surprised but intrigued.
"So did Grace", Pogo continued, "It was a difficult choice for both of us." The next moment you looked back at Five his face had strongly twisted, taking in what Pogo said while in disbelieve. Their father had set this whole thing up, perfectly planned and executed. To get the siblings back together. Well, he should've counted in that he'd absolutely ruined his 'children', you thought.
"He'd hoped that this would reignite your desire to work as a team." "For what end?", Five questioned harshly. "To stop the apocalypse."
The siblings were visibly smacked into the face with that new information and the same time that Klaus laughed in disbelieve, you commented: "Fucking hell." Everything in your face had probably dropped but you genuinely couldn't control that right now.
Five looked at you then again like he'd only realized that you were still next to him. He held your gaze and through it you could make out the thousands of wheels turning in his head. Your expression started matching his, eyebrows furrowed in concentration and eyes sharp.
You tried to guess what he was thinking about but honestly, you didn't have a chance with that. Luther had started speaking again and your eye contact was broken when he raised in voice, hurt and angry at this revelation.
"Calm down, Luther", his brother tried but his tone just got sharper. "No, I won't calm down! I've been lied to by the one person in this family I trusted!"
Pogo's expression dropped and he tried to explain: "It was your father's dying wish, Master Luther. I.. I had no choice." But Luther wasn't having that. "There's always a choice", and he walked out. Pogo went out quietly after him, leaving you three around the table. Five sank into his chair, rubbing his hands all over his face and sighed.
"I gotta think", he said and then zapped away. You tried to not feel the slight ting in your heart at the fact that he left without you. But you understood, of course you did. Everything new that got revealed about their father shocked you more and more deep in your core. You couldn't imagine what it was like for them.
Now Klaus and you sat around the table in silence. You looked down at your cofffee. It felt like eternity sice you had gotten that but the slight steam told you differently. What could you do now? You were sure that Five would continue with trying to save the world. He just needed some time to sort through it all.
"How is it with you and your dad?" It took you a moment to realize that Klaus had directed that at you. "Uh", you didn't quite know how to start that actually, "He's.. dead. Yeah.. But it was good. He'd raised me alone, taught me a lot and tried to actually make balanced meals." You chuckled shortly at the memories of him hunched over a recipe. He knew what nutrients you needed but too many ingredients somehow always confused him.
When you looked at Klaus again you noticed how vastly different and unfamiliar your experience with a father was. A father that showed you how much he loved you and cared about you. Who'd keep you safe and help you no matter what. Great.. now you missed your dad again.
❀ Seth Clearwater x male (werewolf) reader pt. 3 ⚣︎
A/N: picking up almost exactly where we left off in part 2, it's quite short, see it as a little extra snipped with more focus on the reader and Seth (especially towards the end)
tags/warnings: reader is a werewolf, Seth imprinted on him, mention of scars, reader and Seth are practically glued together, also getting a little suggestive towards the end
one of his most vicious tactics
It was actually quite late when you left. Seth had announced that it was time when he'd witnessed you blinking slowly for the third time or so in a few minutes. Of course he'd notice you getting exhausted even when you tried to hide it.
He had pulled you up and into his arms and then you said your goodbyes. Meaning Seth did his hyper happy and social round while you tagged along giving nods, smiles and tiny "byes". Emily even asked if she could hug you and when you agreed you were pulled into a soft and careful embrace.
A little earlier this evening - when you gotten up to leave Seth's side for a moment - she had caught you a little to side of the gathering and you came to talk about your scars. Even when you wore a long sleeve with a relatively high collar not all of your scars were covered. And, well, Emily's was quite present on one half of her face.
She'd told you the story - but not like a tale to induce fear and caution. It was simply a story from her life, something that had influenced the path she was taking, something that she came out of stronger and wiser. It was refreshing to listen to her talking about her experience like that. And she understood the ever wavering emotions when thinking about the scars covering your body.
Most of your scars weren't from someone else but from your own hands. Nonetheless, it was a burden, something you'd been ashamed of for a very long time and still sometimes were. They were undeniably there, telling everyone about your past and shaping your future actions. But they were a part of you, of your life and how you'd survived - how you'd decided to live on and fought for that.
So, you returned the hug and gave Emily a warm smile while saying goodbye for the evening. She'd apparently knocked a little more sense in her mate because Sam offered you a smile and reached out a hand. You felt Seth relaxing next to you when he saw you shaking hands - the confirmation that this would not be as much of a hardship to carry on. (Especially after even Jacob had given an acknowledging nod.)
You made your way back through the woods, your instincts always able to lead you back home. Seth had taken your hand and intertwined your fingers. You'd been walking in comfortable silence for about three minutes when Seth raised your interlocked hands to place a kiss on yours. His eyes were glinting at you in the moonlight and once you returned his smirk he was completely on you.
His hands gently grasped your cheeks and pulled you closer to kiss all over your face. You chuckled and circled your arms around his waist while your back met a tree. "Too impatient to wait, huh?", you teased and received a playful bite into your cheekbone.
You didn't get to comment that because then he used one of his most vicious tactics - kissing you. His thumb was stroking your cheek and you melted further into the kiss. His lips were warm and sweet and when his tongue slightly swept over yours every thought you'd tried to form was thrown out the window.
You felt his smile still present in the kiss and chuckled into it, earning yourself a teasing bite on your lower lip. Seth pressed closer, almost like trying to cover your whole body with his own. One of his hands stayed on your jaw while the other slowly trailed down underneath the fabric he'd given you earlier that day. His warm hand ghosting over your side sent shivers through you. Your arms tightened in response and completely circled his waist.
All you could perceive was reduced to him and his lips on yours. The way your mouths and your entire bodies fit perfectly together. The way his huffs of air ghosted against your cheek. The way he seemed to want to consume you whole. The way he still stayed so soft and sweet.
The way you both tried to convey how devoted you were to each other. You were pulling, pushing, tightening your grips on each other, doing your most to melt together through the fabric while standing there against a tree in the woods in the late evening.
"Mh-", he tried to speak in between kisses, "maybe we-", another kiss and a sweep of your tongue against his lips, "should-", he dove back in to return that and was met with you eagerly parting your lips further, "go home now." For another few seconds both of you were occupied by the brush of your tongues, the mingling of your breaths and the exchange of quiet sighs between you.
"Yeah", you finally managed to whisper into the kiss. "Yeah", Seth whispered back but instead of pulling back, he dove back into another kiss - not that you complained. You hummed against his lips and felt a deeply instinctual rumble build up inside you. When Seth noticed that you'd just let out your equivalent of a growl or even purr he gasped.
"Okay", you were still so close that his lips brushed against yours while he spoke, "We're going home." He leaned back a little more and your whole body immediately felt way too cold without him. So much, that you chased after his warmth. The moon had greeted you seemingly a long time ago already and it illuminated Seth's blushed blushed cheeks and blown, still glinting pupils for you to take in once you managed to open your eyes as well. You tried to take it all in to be able to remember this sight for eternity.
You were met with a grin that you returned and a brush against your lips before actually continuing your walk. The rest of the way was accompanied by tightly locked hands, brushing shoulders and occasional chuckles. And very soon you were able pull Seth into your cabin and completely loose yourself in his warm kisses and sighs.
A/N: The second half of this was really interesting to write. I have the illusion of getting better at writing thought processes, it's fun to delve deeper. Hope you have just as much fun reading this!
(there's a tag with the title)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 (still getting closer), a bit is changed but overall plot is still the same or at least close to the episode, top/protective reader, mention of blood and a bullet wound, passed out Five once more, worry and feelings on their way to get the reader!
Together we will save the world pt. 8
You were on the way to his house as quickly as possible. Allison kept going on about not being able to reach Viktor and ‘what if something happened to him?’. You kind of felt the urge to try and calm her down. But you held that back, it probably wouldn’t be good if you specifically did that. Diego didn’t say anything but the fact that he drove slightly over the speed limit indicated that he was just as worried.
When you pulled up to the house Allison practically jumped out of the car. You and the others followed swiftly.
“Be careful”, Allison said while ducking instinctively.
“Didn’t seem dangerous when we saw him”, Diego countered while taking one of his knives, “looked kinda scrawny.”
“Well, most mass murderers and serial killers look unsuspecting”, you chimed in, “I mean look at him.” You pointed to Five who was swaying slightly next to you. Nonetheless he said “Thanks” as nonchalantly as possible.
"Either nobody's home", Allison said after ringing the doorbell and looking through the window. "Or we're being ignored", Diego finishes. "How are we gonna get in then?", Allsion asks and looks around. "Let me", Diego says and takes a few steps back while signally for the rest of you to get out of his way.
He ran and took a leap to ram down the door. But you never saw if he'd succeed because instead of meeting the door he made aquaintance with the floor of the entrance hall. Five stood in there and looked down at his brother. You'd been so focussed on Diego for the moment that you hadn't noticed Five bliping inside to open the door himself.
You held back a snort while Diego got up mumbling something like "Yeah, can do it like that too" and Five only shrugged with a tiny smirk.
"Alright then", Allison said and took lead to get inside properly and start searching. You parted into pairs and went sepperate ways. You noticed a lot of rather old decoration. "Seems like psychos don't care much about interiors", you joked and turned around to face Five. He seemed kinda pale but when you wanted to address it he held up a hand to shush you while mumbling about getting this over with quickly.
You worked your ways upwards and soon you were standing in front of the ultimate creepy proof. It was almost like a shrine of the umbrella academy; all kinds of old merch put together. Allison and Diego went to look further into it and you turned to Five again.
And god, you were glad that you turned around right then and there because the next thing you saw were his eyes fluttering closed, his swaying intensifying and then he collapsed forward. You rushed to catch him with a yelp and saved him from face-planting on the floor.
"Five!", you called out and carefully turned him around in your arms. His siblings had turned towards you again and were rushing to your side as well. You managed to place him in your lap while kneeling down on the dusty floor.
"Oh god, what happened?", Allison asked, distress and worry clear. "I think it's his wounds", you answered and worked on getting away the layers of his stupid uniform. "Wounds?-", she asked but got cut off by the sight of it.
So your suspicion was right, Five had been running around with an open bleeding wound since he bliped back into the living room earlier. That's why he hadn't wanted you to inspect further, it seemed like a damn bullet wound.
"Oh, Five, you stupid asshole", you hissed out and then pressed on the wound to contain the blood flow. Five let out a pained groan, so at least he was still alive, but his eyes still wouldn't open.
"Give me your scarf", you instructed Allison and practically ripped it out of her hands once she'd been able to catch up. You tried to wrap it as tightly as possible around his waist.
"We need to get him to a hospital", you ushered but then Five opened his eyes slightly again. "No..", he hushed out, "No hospital. Too much.. attention."
"Well what the hell are we supposed to do then", you snapped at him worriedly. Was he planing on bleeding out in a freak's attic?!
"We can take him back home", Diego suggested, "Mom can do surgery." Five nodded faintly in approval, then his eyes closed again. You let out an annoyed groan then went to wrap your arms around the man in your lap properly.
"Alright, then let's go!", you hurried and took Five into your arms carefully to carry him out of the house. When Diego offered to take him you tightened your hold and hissed at him that you could handle it. You rushed back to the car, the creepy altar forgotten temporarily, and you got yourself and Five in the backseat.
The drive to the academy seemed far too long for you although it wasn't that far. You kept pressure on Five's wound and held him close while he leaned into your side. "Common Five, stay awake", you whispered close to his face, "Stay with me." His eyes fluttered closed every few moments for a second too long and his breath was shallow.
"Please don't do this to me", you whispered even more quietly and if you hadn't been so close he might've not caught it. His eyes shot open again and he tried his best to focus on your face. His brows furrowed mirroring yours and he seemed like he wanted to stay something but then the car stopped.
You took a second to realize that you'd arrived and quickly got yourself and Five out of the car to rush inside. You were once again carrying him bridal style while Allison showed you the way and Diego went to get their mother.
Once you'd set him down on the table and Grace arrived you were ushered out of the room. You tried to protest but in the end Diego dragged you out of there and all you were left with was pacing around in front of the door for an excruciatingly long time.
Diego was pacing too, juggling around his knives and then getting something to drink. Allison had went for the phone again and tried to reach Viktor somehow. You were all quite certain that Harold/Leonard had taken him - maybe with violence, maybe by still tricking him. You didn't know which one would be worse.
God, stupid Five! If he'd just let you help him. Sure, you need to save the damn world and the care would've taken away potentially important time but still. Now his wounds were worse than before. Now he actually collapsed in your arms and you had to carry him bridal style out of that house.
You sure hoped that their robot mom was good at what she did there. You didn't want your anger levels to rise further. You kind of liked Five's family now but the way they were all used to handle things infuriated you in a completely new way. Like they could've all used a good therapist long ago but you guessed that would've been not in the plans of their dear father. Self reflected and balanced beings would've been not as easy to manipulate anymore.
At some point you leaned against the wall opposite of the door Five was behind and then slid down. You hugged your knees and your head fell forward until it was laying on top of them. A deep sigh left your lips and you squeezed your eyes shut. Maybe just disassociating a little bit would help the time pass quicker.
Well, so much about that. Sure your thoughts went a little further away but why the hell did they have to end up in bad memories? How about some good ones? They must be available somewhere in your mind. And maybe not right next to your father's death. That one could ideally not haunt you right now, thanks very much.
You remembered that this family gathering had only started because their father had died himself. At least they seemed not as badly affected by it. Well, instead they were weirdly affected by it. None of them could tell you that this hadn't kicked off something in them.
—
You must've actually dozed off while being in your thoughts because you jolted awake when you sensed the door in front of you finally opening. Pogo stood in the doorway and while you clambered to stand up and then rushed past him he said something about them being successful. You didn't care as much about vocal news only. You needed to see him yourself.
Inside you were met with Grace standing next to a bed. And there he was. Eyes were still closed but his chest was moving and after watching him take a few breaths you finally released the one you'd been holding since you'd put him here.
You walked closer while Grace took a step back to arrange a few leftover things that you cared very much not about. Your hand found his, laying next to his side, without thinking much about it and squeezed it.
"Goddammit Five", you whispered, "you idiot." You weren't able to find other words somehow. At the same time something was burning in your throat, almost desperate to claw it's way out just to see how it would feel there. But you held it back. This was really not the time - on several planes.
You only knew each other a few days now - nonetheless it felt like way longer but that was thanks to the several crazy and near-death situations you'd stumbled into already. At the same time, you were pretty sure that half of his family was still in observation radius and you didn't want to expose any of you like that.
In the end, what was this anyway? This tiny but steadily growing feeling digging it's claws into your heart and trying to break through your ribs. It was probably just this huge because you'd been presented with nearing death in an apocalypse, with fear of not having done enough, with adrenaline while trying to prevent all that. All that combined could very much make your emotions fly high, completely without reason, blown up with a huge mass of air containing of extreme reactions.
You'd keep them closed off for some more time. It was nice how it was now. Something unspoken but not in the way. Something to keep going for even. And if it were to evaporate in the end then it would hurt, sure, but it'd be fine. You didn't dare to stay too long in the possibility of not evaporating there and now. If you succeeded future you could think about that more than enough. And with the care and peace that it deserved.
❀ Seth Clearwater x male (werewolf) reader pt. 2 ⚣︎
A/N: well, here is more of the werewolf reader bc I keep daydreaming bout it (there is actually material for a part three already, maybe I'll write that down too)
tags/warnings: reader is a werewolf, Seth imprinted on him, meeting the pack (properly this time)
completely wrapped around his finger
“Is that Seth’s hoodie?”, Jared asked when he saw their pack member and his werewolf mate approach. Leah sighed and nodded; she recognized that one very well, it had been Seth’s favorite for a long time.
The others turned to look at Seth and you too. They had agreed to meet up at the beach to get to know you better. Leah and Sue had already met you after they all found Seth cuddled up with you the first time. At this point Leah was still kinda wary about you - not because of your condition but just because it was her brother you were dating.
Meanwhile you slowed down slightly and held Seth’s hand tighter. Of course he noticed that and stopped in his track to look at you properly. “Hey”, he said, “don’t be so worried. This is just the pack.”
“You mean practically your family”, you countered.
“Well, yeah. But only my second one. My mom likes you - Leah does too, she just doesn’t wanna admit it yet - so everything else is just side quest.”
You snorted at his argument. He really managed to calm you down no matter what so you gave him a smile and nod to keep on walking towards one of your fears: a large group of people judging you. Sure, you were considered an apex predator and all but you still had some issues with social anxiety - mostly because of the werewolf thing too actually.
When you arrived in front of the pack Seth greeted them with his usual sunshiny behavior although he still held your hand tightly which you appreciated: “Hey guys! Formerly introducing now: Y/N”
You got a variation of greetings and plain looks to which you answered with a tiny “Hi” while avoiding most eye contact. Seth dragged you away from the large gathering and headed towards a tinier group to not overwhelm you immediately.
You practically clung to him for the first ten minutes or so while feeling the stares in your back. You occasionally worked on pushing down the embarassed blush that tried to creep up your neck when you noticed. Listening to Seth talking with someone and just generally being by his side calmed you down bit by bit.
So much that you even let go of his hand that you'd been clinging to like a lifeline and gave him some personal space again. Of course not without a confused look; he probably thought that you were feeling worse but you managed to reassure him with a tiny smile that he recipricated twice as big.
For a moment you looked out at the crashing waves, the rythmic movement that got disrupted by stone and wood. Your plan normally hadn't been to stay in Washington for too long - especially since you'd noticed the.. activity of not only vampires but then also wolf shifters. The first time you'd registered how close you actually were to being discovered by people who would recognize who you were and then probably try to hunt you down was not long before meeting Seth.
Oh, that had been a whole fever dream. Seth had immediately noticed that you weren't just human too when he'd suddenly found you in the woods. It didn't help that you were still covered in your own blood and torn clothes. The night before had been a reather bad fullmoon and you gained some wounds over the night. When Seth found you you'd actually been on your way back home but got a little lightheaded and rested against a tree.
Of course he had heard in tellings about people like you and could piece it together but lucky for you the young man had a heart of gold and was more worried about you than him at that moment. He'd approached you further after turning human again and getting dressed. Your instincts seemingly had been worn down from exhaustion because he'd been quite close already when you practically jumped up.
Later on Seth told you that he was glad he was able to look you in your eyes and realized the whole imprint thing because otherwise he would've had his guards up immediately - you'd looked frantic and wild that exact moment.
Seth convincing you to not hurt you was truly chaotic; there had to be done a lot to bring down your paranoia and fear based walls. But once your guard was down you'd felt it too. Your kind didn't feel it as intense as the shifters at first sight. Instead you'd felt a little incisible pull to get closer and well, werewolves didn't fall fast but rather hard and over time formed an attachement for more than life itself could give time. You'd actually never really believed that once you'd heard about it but wow, you were proven wrong massively. You would die for Seth and then crawl your way back out of your grave to be with him again without hesitation.
— —
Leah had found herself in a larger circle of people once she'd heard that their topic had shifted back to her brother's mate. And just how most of them were they had a hushed but heated debate about how much they wanted to trust you. Leah rolled her eyes at them throughout that and was glad glad that only Jake had caught it.
She continued listening in but like often times didn't contibute much to the whirlwind of conversation. No thanks, she liked not having to fight against four other people's voices. The guys semmed to be going round in circles.
“Leah”, Jakob turned to her then, “you met him one time already. What d’you think?” That actually got most of them to look at her and she immediately felt a little uncomfortable but then sighed.
“I’m just gonna tell you now: I was sitting on the opposite side of the table and could clearly see his pupils dilate every time he looked at Seth”, she answered, “He seems completely wrapped around his finger.” The last part she sighed out again.
“What if he lashes out, loses control or something?”, Embry asked still concerned about possible danger from you.
“You really don’t have to worry about that”, you chimed in then. The other looked up embarassedly at being caught in their discussion. You hadn’t meant to snoop, you just heard them very well with your heightened senses. “Sorry, I didn’t plan to but I overheard you.”
You continued talking after a split second: “There’s mostly stories about werewolves lashing out because they attract attention. Most of them chose to not control themselves. I chose to do the opposite and I’m quite good at it by now. Also in a very serious situation, if all of my ten backup plans fail, theres still one safety - discovered that a month ago or so.. him”, you looked at Seth who was still talking to Emily, “He can calm me down completely - only exception is probably full moon and that I have planned out and went through it before.”
Sam nodded slowly then: “May I ask: how long have you been this now?”
You took a deep breath and answered without looking at any of them: “I was turned when I was ten. So yeah, really been doing this for a while.”
Seth chose that moment to search for you and quickly got to your side when he saw you standing with so many. He gave you a look asking if you were alright and you smiled reassuringly. Right in that moment the others could notice what Leah had meant earlier.
You acted like a magnet, immediately attaching yourself to his side. And they will be damned, some of them actually whitnessed the pupils dilating thing. Sam wanted to chew down on his paper plate with how this turned out, difficult and easy at the same time. Easy was the fact that they would not ever succeed in sepparating the two of you. And that's what made it difficult too. He shouldn't have been so foolish to underestimate this bond, in the end he knew first hand what it's like to imprint and fester the connection.
"Why don't you two sit down with us?", Sam then proposed. It was an appology for how he'd reacted in the first place - even though it'd been out of concern. Seth looked to you for a sign - if you showed the slightest negative reaction he would bail you two out of there but you gave a tiny nod and his tensed shoulders fell down again.
You took place on one of the treetrunks and Seth scooted so close that your thighs might as well be melting together. On top of it all he placed a hand protectively on your knee. You side eyed him with a tiny smirkas if to say: "Bit much protective today?" He looked back at you with raised eyebrows that said: "Yeah, what about it?" A small grin slipped on your lips and revealed your slightly visible canines.
Meanwhile, the rest of a group had a collective moment of trying to figure out if you somehow actually managed to have some sort of mindlink too. Of course you didn't, Seth and you somehow just became very good at communicating nonverbally.
Right around this time you tended to forget how comparably long you already knew eachother. This whole drama made it feel like your relationship was really fresh and then you were almost surprised yourself when you tought back to the amount of days and nights that you'd already spent together. Seth already knew your cleaning routine, what your favorite gardening tools were and how you liked your spoons to be put in the drawer. In return you knew which kind of story narration he liked the best in books, that he always drowned his food in sauce and that he chewed on his lip when concentrating.
Slowly the people around you slipped into a different, more lighthearted conversation. You still held yourself back from the conversation and you noticed Leah doing the same. Your gazes crossed and for a second you weren't sure if she was trying to lit you on fire with her mind. But then her lips twitched so slightly that you almost missed the smile she sent you. You returned her twitch, only a little more present.
And then you slipped back into listening to the banter. Every now and then Seth squeezed your thigh to which his hand had slipped up. You slung an arm around his and leaned more into his side, getting more comfortable every few minutes. You still wouldn't dare to meet some of their gazes or actually partake in a conversation but you weren't shaking internally from anxiety anymore. Maybe this could actually turn into something not as awkward in the future.
A/N: *meme of the guy on a horse holding a lamp to hurriedly announce the big news* Part 7 of Together is out! (is this weird? probably, sorry) Anyway, as always hope you enjoy XD
(there's a tag with the title)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 (still getting closer), a bit is changed but overall plot is still the same or at least close to the episode, top/protective reader, confused and stubborn siblings, kind of shortly focused on Allison and reader in between (also kind of showing how much she cares about her family i guess), also have I ever actively established/mentioned that I imagine Five and the reader to be more like in their late teens? because well, I do
Together we will save the world pt. 7
“What do you mean?” That was the most used sentence at this point. You were all still standing in the living room, still discussing and still not having any plan.
Five explained to his siblings that this must be the one to stop because the message had been directed at those agents that had attacked you before and had apparently also shot around in the academy. They came from his former employer and when he explained that, you thought back to what he had told in the very start after you had gotten out of that dinner.
“The temps commission, right?”, it was the first thing you had said since the start of tis conversation. “Exactly!”, Five said rapidly, “They monitor time and space.” “And they sent those agents after you to stop you from stopping the apocalypse.”
“Yes”, Five had turned to you completely now but was partially still turning his head towards his siblings, “They believe the apocalypse is supposed to be in three days. So, this message: ‘protect Harold Jenkins’ was meant for the agents here. That means he is responsible.” You nodded: “So we need to find out who he is and where he is as quickly as possible.” Five let out a thankful sigh and nodded - you may or not have been able to make out a slight smile.
It was quiet for a split second, then: “What do you mean, protect time and space?” and “Where’s this Hazel?” “Do you have any idea how insane this sounds?”, Allison asked further. You noticed how Five suddenly staggered and wanted to say something, you reached out your hand to hold him but he held up a finger in your direction, turning to Allison.
“You know what is insane?”, Five said furiously, “I look like a teenager! Klaus talks to the dead, Luther thinks this coat can hide anything and he”, he pointed to you, “is a civilian without powers or training who has helped me more than all of you combined!” “Well, a little training”, you mumbled out after the powers and training part.
Five raised an eyebrow at you and once again Allison and Diego gave you a suspicious look. “I told you about my dad, Five”, you said with a little smile on your face. Five nodded and turned back once again: “What I mean, nothing about us is normal. Never has been.” “Got a point there”, Klaus commented. “We didn’t choose this, but we’re living this life”, Five then added.
“But last time we all died trying to stop it, why do we have a chance now?”, Allison kept on, “Why shouldn’t I rather get to my daughter?” “Because I’m here and we have a name, those are important factors”, Five argued and although his voice was stable you saw how he was hunched over slightly. He was surely injured but he’d want to convince the others first before even considering taking care of that shortly. So you got a little closer, just to be there and be ready if something happened - but also to reassure him.
“We can save billions of lives”, Five kept on and then looked directly at Allison again, “Including Claire.” Allison’s head snapped up to look at him again. “You know her name?”, she whispered. “I do”, Five’s tone was softer now, laced with year long exhaustion, “And I’d really like to meet her.”
That’s what it took to convince Allison; Diego jumped in quickly too after that. The siblings had another little argument then what to do but you didn’t really listen because for a moment Five actually leaned back a little and you shuffled close enough for him to lean against you. You tried to fight of the red tint that crawled up your neck because as much as you were freaking out about this you were still worried.
Five had his arms crossed but you could see one of his hands resting on his lower ribs carefully. Yeah, he definitely had been in a fight. You had noticed that already; his hair was tousled, his clothes didn’t sit right anymore and he was covered in some dust. So you slowly snuck one arm around him to put your hand on his elbow, then said quietly since he probably wouldn’t agree if the others heard much: “Let’s at least check your wounds first. I know you fought again.”
Five sighed deeply, not looking at you. Klaus was just walking closely by the two of you and gave you a look again. He saw they way you whispered and how Five literally leaned on you but he had other things to do right now.
Eventually Five signaled you with a nod to do so and you two went off to his room. Of course not with the others asking where you’re going. “Be right back”, you explained, “Just have to clear off a little something first.” Then you half ushered - half supported him upstairs, not listening to the others and they probably noticed that he wasn’t fully alright because the complains died down.
In his room you helped him sit down on his bed. “And now take off the top of this horrendous uniform”, you commanded. You heard a huff from Five: “I’ll let you look at my arms and that’s it. I’m fine. Just be quick.” You came back with the quite extensive first aid kit and sighed but you knew that discussing wouldn‘t work right now.
„Okay, but later when we‘re back this evening you‘ll let me look over you completely, okay?“ He nodded complying.
You took care of the cuts on his arms as best as you could even if Five assured you ‘that he’d had it worse before’ - nah, that didn’t lower your concern. Your touch was as gentle as possible and you noticed how you got used to these moments but also cherished them. This was a very specific kind of intimacy since Five didn’t seem to be the kind to let himself be helped or taken care of; and especially not show his wounds to anyone. Though he seemed to purposely hide his ribs at the moment which concerned you.
He let out little hisses but otherwise it was quiet between you two until you opened your mouth to ask him: “Are you okay? I mean.. with being back at the commission and the apocalypse stress and- your siblings. I know with all of that you can’t really be fine - we all - but- uh.. as far as you can be: are you okay?”
You hadn’t looked up while speaking but now you did and your gaze met his hazel eyes boring into you. He stayed still for a moment and you did too, you just kept on looking into each other’s eyes. Five wore a deep frown, from this close you saw the dark circles that hadn’t disappeared and his eyes were written over with something you couldn’t quite decipher.
He took a deep breath and winced a little bit. “Once this is over, it’s maybe gonna become okay”, he said then, “We’ll get through this. We can.” He seemed to want to convince himself more than you. Yeah, this was stressful and hard to manage on so many levels. “We can”, you echoed him reassuringly and smiled.
You finished this up and went downstairs again. He wouldn’t let you help so much this time but you kept one hand on his elbow and the other on his lower back. Allison was still waiting in the foyer or whatever this was called. She said that Diego was waiting in the car and Luther had decided to look at something from their dad.
So you got in the car, Diego driving and Five calling shotgun - although he didn’t say it like that since he probably didn’t really know the term in that context. You ended up in the back seat next to Allison and honestly, you would’ve preferred walking for a moment there. She seemed to not like you or at least not trust you as much and she showed that openly. Also, she was kinda scary. At least to you. You were sure that there was more to her and her power - supernatural and general - than what people could see.
The drive was quiet, awkward in your case, and you found yourself wandering off after finally being able to relax - you’d at least had a hunch that Allison eyed you but you wouldn’t turn your head.
You didn’t even know anymore how many days it had been. Your sense for time became worse, also, there was so much happening and to process all at once that it just seemed unreal to have happened at all. It also felt unreal that you’d only known Five for such a short time. It felt like you knew him quite well already, like you’d skipped over mindless conversations, small talk and lightly approached getting-to-know-each-other which, well.. you did essentially. You’d skipped straight to the trauma it seems. (And that first and foremost because of the whole urgent trying to save the world thing happening and of course it was connected so you’d had to get an insight into his trauma to fully understand the situation.)
But you didn’t mind all of that. You didn’t mind that you’d jumped headfirst at sharing trauma or even that you’d been dragged into this mess. You were quite glad for it, for getting to know Five, for meeting his just as messed up siblings, for learning about this side of the world you hadn’t really paid attention to before. You were glad that Five had practically dragged you out of your life that had become duller and lonelier by the second without you noticing before it would’ve felt too late to get out. Even if these were your last days on earth, if you didn’t succeed and the world ended or you did save it but you’d die in the process, you wouldn’t want it differently.
Your gaze drifted to the seat in front of you - Five. What an odd but intriguing guy he was. You could see why some people might not like him or be creeped out by him - easily, really, you understood - but to you he had something. Something that made you want to follow him around everywhere, something that made you want to make sure that he was alright, something that would convince you to do the most stupid and reckless stuff. Like trying to help him save the world and actively throwing yourself into danger surrounded by people with superpowers while you had nothing like that at all.
Well, you could defend yourself in hand to hand combat and technically you could even shoot but you couldn’t do anything remotely supernatural. You unwillingly thought back to your father. He’d shown you that, he’d shown you a lot about life before he wasn’t able anymore. Maybe he knew, even long before it was clear, that he’d have to leave you behind quite early. Maybe that’s why he was so prone to teach you everything he knew - including the fighting. That had already saved your ass, so.. thanks dad.
You came out of your thoughts when you heard and felt the doors opening while Diego and Five started bickering over something again. You shook your head a little bit to get rid of the last bit of brain fog and went to unbuckle your seat belt. When you were about to turn to the door and open it you heard Allison still next to you clear her throat.
“Are you okay?” You turned to her perplexed, your eyes were probably huge from surprise and confusion. She still had that frown that scared you somehow but beneath that seemed to actually be something like concern. You only got out an “uh” and blinked a few times to make sure this wasn’t a dream. You didn’t get to add something yet since she started talking again. “You know I just thought about how you were probably kind of dragged into this - at least I assume - and then I just saw you lost in your thoughts like something weighed on you. And I, hm, see how you look at my brother”, a slight smile appeared on her lips while your face heated up a little which really didn’t help your case.
“Don’t think I really like you or trust you yet”, she added and you could swear that it was only meant halfway seriously judging by the tone and look she had, “I just wanted to ask.” You blinked at her for a brief second before finding your voice again.
“Yeah, I’m- fine, I’m okay. I just thought about how much has happened and all that and uhm.. yeah.” Wow, eloquence surely wasn’t on your list of talents. Allison looked at you for another moment then gave you a curt nod and stepped out of the car. You followed suit. You were just in time to see how Diego said something like a final word to Five before turning around to vanish in a side alley. Only then did you notice that you were in front of a police station.
Allison walked towards a phone booth and you almost mindlessly came to stand next to Five again. “What’s he doing?”, you asked him after he came to lean against the wall at the corner of said alley Diego walked in. “He’s checking the police files for the name”, Five sighed out, “I told him I could just flip in, get it and be here again in seconds but he insisted because he has ‘connections’ bla bla.”
You had to chuckle slightly at how personally offended Five acted. Five glared at you: “Don’t laugh.” “Sorry”, you continued and tried to stifle your laughter.
“Have you always been like this?”, you asked a big grin still plastered on your face. “What do you mean?”, Five raised an eyebrow. “Always at each others throats about who gets to do the work and show off their skills?”, you elaborated. You saw the other’s eyebrows knit together while he thought about it. His eyes were narrowed while he looked down and his lashes casted slight shadows across his cheeks. You couldn’t stop thinking about how good he looked when he was thinking which, well, he did most of the day - surely a win for you.
‘And I see how you look at my brother’, Allison’s voice from earlier echoed in your head and your eyes snapped away to focus on the pavement. Had you just looked at him like that again? What even meant ‘like that’? Where you so obvious about this? What was this? A crush? An adrenaline induced attraction? Hero adoration?
Sure, Five was cute and like, really handsome. His kind of bratty and scowling behavior was intriguing. The way he at the same time cared for his family and - at least you hoped - for you too by now was just adding to it. And you knew that you liked guys since the start of middle school at least so that wasn’t the problem here at all. But if you admitted that you - at least - had a huge crush on him then the next question was if he remotely felt the same way.
“I guess so”, Five’s voice snapped you out of your thought and for a millisecond you had to realign your brain to the actual conversation happening. “And well, it was probably- again, how we were raised.” He was still not looking at you and you noticed how hard it was for him to admit that even this behavior had been affected by their father.
“Hey”, you lightly touched his upper arm, “you don’t have to go further if you don’t want to. I understand.” Your touch had made him look up at you again and after you spoke the crease between his eyebrows deepened further for a moment. He seemed to contemplate if he wanted to say more but then his expression softened. The ever so slightly smile tugged at his lips - which your gaze definitely didn’t get stuck on for a little too long, thank you very much.
“Thanks”, he whispered like it was a secret only meant for your ears. You didn’t get to ask what for exactly although you had a hunch. Allison, who had gotten off the phone without you noticing, came to stand next to Five and shortly after Diego reappeared too, file in his hand. Your little group shuffled around him when he opened it.
Allison gasped lightly: “Holy shit, Harold Jenkins is Leonard Peabody.”
A/N: oh, what is this? is it a plane? is it a bird? is it my lost hopes and dreams? no! it’s me throwing another chapter at you the same day! I really sat down and wrote this one completely in one afternoon and evening (with breaks bc I’m not home atm) XD
(there's a tag with the title)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 (yeah, but we’re getting closer), a bit is changed but overall plot is still the same or at least close to the episode (who finds the quote i directly took from the episode?), top/protective reader, gunshots, Klaus is there again!!, also every other sibling to a certain extend
Together we will save the world pt. 6
Five was squinting at the light and grumbling something incoherently. He looked up when you greeted him with a “Hello there, sleepy head.” He squinted for another second then sighed. “Sorry, for leaving”, he started then and you saw Luther surprisedly raise his eyebrows, “You weren’t there and I was frustrated.” He gritted his teeth while thinking back.
“It’s fine”, you answered and went to help him sit up, “I met your brothers and they found you. I think I’d still be waiting or wandering around cluelessly without them.” You had motioned towards Luther with your head and the boy noticed his presence too then.
“Hey, uh”, Luther started, “Are you really trying to stop the apocalypse?” “Yeah”, Five sighed out. Meanwhile you sat down next to him again - maybe a little closer than ‘normal’. You also informed Five then that you had tried to explain it but that it’d be good for him to tell Luther himself. And so he did.
Luther was once again stunned for a moment while processing the situation. “Oh, okay”, he said after a while, “And you don’t have any idea anymore?” Five sighed again and it nagged at you how much he had to do that already. It was such a small detail but something about it was very wrong to you.
“There might still be an idea”, Five said and looked down for a moment, “but it’s very dangerous and there’s a high possibility of getting out of it even worse than we already are - if we get out at all.” You looked at him with your eyebrows in a frown, the concern was probably written all over your face. “Are you sure that we should try something like that when we’re already in such a bad position?”
“Well, we don’t have any other way and we don’t have the time to wait for a miracle or anything similar”, the boy countered, “I’ve done things with possibilities of worse outcomes.” That didn’t really calm you down but you accepted the only-option-we-have part for it’s sake.
You gave him a nod and then Five started explaining his still forming plan to you and Luther (and surely also Dolores).
“Alright”, Five said when you were approaching the place that you’d have the meet up at, “It’d be better if you hide then. For your safety and to get this over as smoothly as possible.” He saw you wanting to protest and gave you a look to stop you. You could be very much imagining things but it seemed like his look was laced with actual deep concern for you. You had already argued before about joining them or staying back, so you decided to comply this time.
A moment later Luther stopped the car. “They’re not here yet”, Five commented, “I’ll tell you when it’s time.” “Alright”, you sighed out. Then silence overtook the car again until you saw a car approaching.
“They’re coming, let’s get this over”, Five said and then both of them got out of the car while you hid behind the seats. You stayed compliant and didn’t look up even if it meant that you couldn’t really make out what was happening.
The thing that you soon heard was another vehicle coming closer - you could also hear this stereotypical ice-cream truck jingle. You could also make out slight screaming and assumed it came from the driver. For a moment you considered if it’d be time to get out or if that would make everything worse.
You came to the conclusion of staying where you were for the moment but be ready to jump. And then you heard a crash, more screaming and gunfires. Next thing you knew Diego and Klaus hopped into the car followed by Luther who started it.
Klaus greeted you with a “Oh hey, little friend” then screamed at Luther to drive again. “Wait!”, you screamed and got up from your hiding spot, momentarily scaring Diego in the passenger seat, “Where’s Five!?” “Not here!”, Luther screamed back, “He’s gone!” “And we need to go too!”, Diego ushered him to drive again. His brother made a sharp turn and then drove off as fast as he could leaving behind the two agents.
The thing that you had not noticed throughout this happening was the time stopping all of you except Five who had an interesting conversation with his former employer. He made a deal to come back and before shaking her hand he adjusted a few things to help you escape. While adjusting the bullet, he caught a glimpse of you in the car and he actually felt.. something. He felt sorry to leave you behind like that but he needed a chance to fix this timeline and then maybe (hopefully) he could get back.
You later arrived at the mansion and stumbled into the living room. Klaus immediately made his way to the bar and took a sip right out one of the bottles. “What are we gonna do now?”, you asked staying still in one of the archways. “Get everyone together”, Luther answered and sat down.
“What about Five?”, you asked. You still couldn’t believe that he just went away like that. And you also couldn’t believe that his siblings just seemed to not really be concerned about it. “Well, what’re we supposed to do? We don’t know anything”, Diego said.
“We can’t just do nothing”, you protested. Did they not care at all for their brother? “What if something happened to him?”, you continued pestering. “He’ll surely be fine.”
“Hey”, Allison walked in the living room, “Are you okay?” “Oh, a lot happened”, Luther answered, “We need a crisis meeting. Five told me something that we need to discuss.”
“And where is Five?”, she looked around and then spotted you too. She frowned and turned back to Luther. “He disappeared suddenly. We were just executing his plan and then he was gone”, Luther explained. “Oh”, was all she commented.
Then they got together around the bar and Luther started explaining what Five had told him and what happened since then. Diego kept asking to make sure that he actually meant the complete apocalypse of the whole world. Meanwhile you went further and further away. They didn’t seem to really bother your presence or absence so you soon turned towards the stairs.
On the way upstairs you came across Viktor and some other guy. “Hi”, you greeted them, “They’re in the living room.” And you kept walking, he surely rather would want to talk to his siblings even when their bond was bad.
Also, you needed to think about Five - how were they supposed to stop the apocalypse when he knew so much more about it. And his intelligence was probably the highest out of them. You really were concerned about him - so much could be happening at this moment and you wouldn’t even know.
What happened after that…
You searched for any kind of notes from Five that could’ve helped you find him, went to the van, to Diego’s place in case you forgot anything there, the library where his brothers had found him according to Luther earlier until you ended up helplessly and almost hopelessly on a park bench towards the end of the day.
But this was the day that never happened.
Five got ahold of a suitcase and turned back time so he would appear in the living room soon after his sibling started talking about what happened.
Back at the mansion earlier that day… (again)
You were sitting in Five’s room staring at his walls and trying to make out anything useful from all the writing and calculations. Then the electricity started flickering all around you. You were sure that something must be happening downstairs and rushed out of the room to get to the living room - you figured they’d still be there.
Meanwhile Five landed on top of the counter with a suitcase and looking completely deranged. “Oh my god!”, one of his siblings let out. “Oh, Five are you okay?” “What happened?”
He didn’t answer at first but got up with an aching body and took Allison’s coffee out of her hand to take a deep sip. He didn’t get to speak to his siblings immediately then because you reached the living room.
When you saw him standing there you let out: “Thank god, you’re still alive!” and went to hug him. Five was flabbergasted by the physical contact and your words. He wouldn’t have guessed that you cared so much or that you were so concerned about his wellbeing. But he slowly relaxed into the hug - it was a welcoming embrace after the escape he just had.
His sibling were certainly surprised when they saw their brother leaning into a hug and not immediately getting into explaining and commanding. Klaus rose his eyebrows looking at this embrace but he didn’t want to say something then and there, that’d be a conversation for sometime else.
Five and you parted and he gave you a look that surely meant ‘let’s talk later’. You nodded and both of you turned back towards his siblings. While you were still halfway in thoughts about how glad you were that he didn’t die (or purposely left you alone - but you wouldn’t admit thinking that though) he tried convincing his siblings that they could stop the apocalypse in three days together.
“So if ya’ll don’t get your ridiculous sideshow acts together and get over yourselves, we’re screwed”, he argued and further brought up their dad. You were fine not contributing this time - at least not verbally. While Five wasn’t looking, you put on one of your best serious faces and bored your gaze into each of them as a signal to not interrupt or say something dumb.
“And to give us a fighting chance to see next week, I’ve come back with a lead”, Five held up a piece of paper, “I know who’s responsible for the apocalypse.” Allison reached out her hand and took the paper to read the name written on it.
“This is who we have to stop”, Five finished. “Harold Jenkins”, Allison read out loud and Diego immediately asked who that is. Meanwhile Five took a last huge sip of coffee and exchanged a short look with you before turning back.
A/N: part 5! already had that finished actually but wasn’t sure about adding smth or not. Then a lot happened lately on top of that and I once again I had writers block (ugh, I really hate it). I just decided to post it as it is and hopefully at least start writing the following part XD
(there's a tag with the title)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 still, a bit is changed but overall plot is still the same or at least close to the episode I guess, top/protective reader, exploding building, alcohol, passed out Five, just considered putting s1 Luther as a warning (whelp), also Diego, Dolores’ still here! (whohoo!)
Together we will save the world pt. 5
You must’ve fallen asleep even though you had tried to stay awake by consuming caffeine and annoying Five. Funny how exhausting it can be to just sit and look around. But the next thing you noticed after you had turned up the music a bit - it took convincing to get that - because Five hadn’t seemed to want to talk, was his voice.
“You don’t have to tell me that.” At first you thought that he was talking to someone on the phone. Then you noticed how he turned around to answer and you considered someone else to be there in the van - but why couldn’t you hear them?
“I know we’ve only got six days left. You got a better idea?” That was when you realized that there was someone in that van who you couldn’t hear - but Five could. You had taken Dolores with you.
You noticed a shift, then you were softly shaken awake: “Y/N, wake up, there’s our guy.” You blinked your eyes open slowly to look into Five’s who still had his hand on your shoulder.
“Who’re you talking about?”, you dragged your hands over your face to wake up more. Five pointed towards the building were that arrogant doctor just came out carrying a bag.
Both of you sat up and watched him approach a car. But he didn’t get in, he just opened the back door, spoke a few words to the driver that you couldn’t identify and plopped in the bag. Then he closed the door again, the car drove away and he started walking somewhere too.
“What was in that bag?”, Five asked; you could hear slight frustration. And you understood why: “No damn idea. What should we do now? I didn’t even know what we were hoping for here but I’m disappointed.”
“I think we’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning. Then we’ll confront this guy again and find out more.”
“Wait”, you turned towards Five with a grin, “Did you just suggest to rest for the night and not continue running around.”
“Uh, maybe”, Five furrowed his brows.
“Oh, wow! I’m so proud of this progression of yours!”, you reached out a hand and slightly ruffled his hair while laughing. Five blushed and seemed even more confused.
“We still need to figure out at least the basics of a plan”, he murmured and looked away, his cheeks still tinted pinkish.
“How about we get something for dinner”, you suggested, then added when you saw the other’s expression, “We can just get take out and eat here.” He nodded slightly.
This is how you came to stand in a line at a Chinese restaurant while Five waited for you in the van. When you got your order and paid you went back in the direction of the car. Fortunately, you knew the city quite well and could sense where the nearest place for food was.
Approaching the van, you once again witnessed Five seemingly talking to himself. You knew that he was probably discussing with Delores again and if you were being honest that was the most normal fact about him for you. Everything else that you had heard about and witnessed until now had been kinda crazy but this mannequin wasn’t as much. It was rather humane of Five and that calmed you down a little bit - you couldn’t help but be slightly concerned about his behaviour sometimes. Like when he had diminished taking care of himself even in the slightest because of his mission when you had met him, or how he behaved towards others like this doctor that you would approach another time tomorrow.
Five noticed you from a few meters away still and stopped talking. You quickened your pace and slipped into the passenger seat again.
“Okay, if I remember right, their food is really good”, you said while getting it out of the bag.
Five just hummed and took the box you reached out to him. You ate in silence while looking out the windows at cars occasionally driving by or a few people that were still out. After finishing you packed away the rest and sighed.
“You want to stay here, do you?”, you asked and finally looked over again. Five had finished eating too and just whipped his mouth with a paper towel. He looked back at you: “Yeah.”
You tried to cheer up the situation a bit: “Alright! An adventure it is!” And if you weren’t hallucinating, Five smiled slightly.
–
„Let me deal with him“, Five said when you spotted the man the next day. That morning you had woken up early - probably because of the not so comfortable seat - and actually witnessed a still sleeping Five. Those last few days, he had always woken up before you. He seemed peaceful then - didn‘t seem to mind the sleeping arrangements.
„I‘ll get back to you soon“, he continued and cut you off when you tried to protest. And when you wanted to argue further he blinked away.
„Great“, you murmured into the empty space of the van. Then you turned around to where Delores was still placed carefully: „Has he always been like that?“ You didn‘t get an answer of course and turned back to the front.
You started rummaging trough the compartments then. You found a pen and old newspaper with still unsolved crossword and sudoku, so you spend some time with that. But soon you were finished and once again just sat there and looked around.
You decided to go for a walk and turning around to the mannequin once again said: „Be right back“. Well, who could‘ve thought that while you were going through the park and getting something to eat, Five witnessed the lab burning to ashes.
He had run towards it like he could‘ve done anything against a huge building to burn down completely. He was thrown onto his back from the pressure wave when it decided to explode too. For a moment he just looked into the sky slowly being clouded by the smoke but when he heard the sirens he stood up with an aching back and started walking to where he had come from.
He ignored that stupid doctor or whatever he was when walking past him. Five didn‘t have much energy left at the moment to teleport far but he managed to get back to the van. Somehow he managed to get there just after you had just started your walk - but he didn‘t know that.
That was why he briefly looked around before getting in the van and leaning back for a moment. „We‘re fucked, Delores. I don‘t have anything anymore. No damn clue from one moment to the other.“ He sighed deeply: „I’d need a suitcase. Maybe then I could still make up a plan.. But that‘s a fucking death mission.“
He thought about the strict training and lessons about protecting the suitcases that the agents carried with them to do their jobs. He wasn‘t an agent anymore. He broke the contract early and now he was being hunted for that on top of everything else.
Five sighed once more and looked around, then picked up Delores neatly placed in the bag. He got out of the van and made his way towards the place where he had stayed pretty long during his time in the post-apocalypse. Maybe he‘d get an idea there. And it probably wouldn‘t hurt to get some good alcohol too. He decided that he deserved it after all and ignored Delores‘ scolding when getting it.
That way he found himself hidden away from other people in the rather empty library, one arm around Delores and the other hand holding a bottle of whatever spirit he had been able to get his hands on. At first he had still actively tried to form new ideas of a plan but after some time he found himself drifting off more and more.
Before he came to any further conclusions his two most idiotic brothers stood in front of him. Five didn‘t know how much time had passed. What he also didn‘t know was that you had met them beforehand and told them where he had probably been gone.
Some part of you had thought that Five was still running around with that doctor or whatever and that was also what you told Luther and Diego when they met you at the van looking for Five themselves. After telling you that there had been a shooting in the academy because of two weird suit wearing people looking for Five your concern increased.
Diego told you where he lived and that you would meet there and then you parted. You went to the lab while Diego tried to find Five with Luther by his side using a network he had build up over the years.
You stopped in your tracks when you saw the burned down building in front of you and hoped that Five wasn‘t in there while it had been burning. Two tiny voices in the back of your head argued whether he had made it out with his usual skill or actually been hurt or killed in there if he had been in the building at all.
You stood there for another five to ten minutes like the boy would just suddenly appear from around the corner and assure you that everything was alright. But nothing happened and slowly you made your way towards the place Diego had told you - hopefully he didn‘t lie to you. Five‘s siblings didn‘t seem to like you all that much - at least the majority.
„Hey boy!“, a man greeted you when you entered the boxing studio. He seemed to have a constant growl even when he continued talking: „You wanna train a bit? D’you have experience? Ya seem fit for it.“
„Oh, uh, thanks, my dad taught me. But I‘m actually here because of something else.“ Luckily, when you asked for Diego‘s room, the grumpy man directed you to the staff rooms where you found the space. A staircase led down to a room with small windows on the upper side of the walls and a high ceiling. You looked around for a moment when a book caught your gaze.
It was not treated well, the back of the cover was ripped off and it seemed like it had been thrown around and kicked several times. Then you read the title and author and realized it was from Viktor, one of Five‘s brothers, and its topic was their family.
You couldn‘t resist and started reading. Quickly you realized that Five‘s brother had a lot repressed to write this way. And soon you also realized that the rest of the family needed just as much therapy - just like you had already guessed before.
You didn’t notice how fast the time went by but when you heard the door being opened you quickly placed down the book. Diego was probably the kind of guy to not like people snooping around in his general personal space at all.
Five’s brothers came in while Luther carried him. He seemed knocked out and for a second you panicked, then you saw that he was still breathing. He was limply hanging in Luther’s arms with one of his arms around Delores and if you listened closely you heard a little snore.
“What the hell happened?”, you asked and swarmed around Luther while he placed Five down on the bed in the corner. Five wasn’t bothered by that. You looked down at him and saw a slight pink tint on his cheeks.
“Well, apparently he decided to get drunk”, Diego answered bitterly. You snapped your head around to look at him. “He did what?!”, you let out, then sat down next to him, “Fucking hell. That means he got nothing.” You let out a deep sigh and ran your hands over your face.
“What are you talking about?”, Luther frowned at you. “I-”, you sighed again, “FIve should tell you himself. I’m really bad at this.” “Well, he won’t wake up for some time now”, Diego commented and before you could answer again, you were interrupted by him almost throwing a knife at the man from before.
“If ya throw one more knife at me, I kick you out”, you heard him say. “What is it?”, Diego asked while lowering his hand. “Some police chick called asking for you, said she found your brother. Wants to meet ya at this place. I’m not your secretary, man”, he reached out a piece of paper, then disappeared again.
Diego looked at the paper and then back at Five. After brief eye contact Luther said: “Go, I’ll stay here.” And Diego was out of the room in a haste. “So, what were you talking about?”
You sighed: “I can give you a short summary, but I also don’t know everything.” So you did and after your storyteller moment both of you sat there silently. “The apocalypse”, Luther sighed out. You looked at Five who shifted a little bit with a grumble.
It still took some time for the boy to wake up but soon his eyes squinted open.
can I request Seth Clearwater x male shifter reader plot can be anything
🍎 Twilight
❀ Seth Clearwater x male (shifter) reader ⚣︎
A/N: oh my gods! I’m still alive! heyy, thanks for the request and sorry for the long wait. I’m having such heavy writers block lately, esp with tumblr requests. It’s not very long but if you want more you can tell me and I’ll make a part two or another different story line.
tags/warnings: best friends to lovers, all canon pairings of the pack except: Jake didn’t imprint on Nessie
Ultimate Soulmatism
“We’re the alpha couple”, Sam said in the current dinner debate and took Emily’s hand, “That has to mean something.”
“Okay, your story is dramatic as fuck”, Paul commented, “I’m fully convinced that we are the best couple here.” He turned to Rachel with a smirk who raised her eyebrows while smiling.
“And why do you think so?”, Jared threw in. He probably already had arguments for Kim and him to be the best.
“We’re the perfect definition of imprinting. We complete each other in every aspect.”
“Well, for me you got minus points because she’s my sister and now I’m stuck with your ass every christmas”, Jakob returned. At first he had actually been very wary of Paul imprinting on Rachel but over time statements like this one became casual and brotherly.
“Well, then we are the greatest couple here”, Jared then said as expected, “We have the sweet highschool romance with crushes before imprinting. You cannot beat this.” He leaned back and put an arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders.
“Nah, we are the ultimate couple here!”, you threw in the conversation, “We shifted at the same time, in the same room and instantly imprinted on each other - guess what? At. The. Same. Time. Also we have highschool romance”, you turned to Jared for a moment, “and have been best friends years before. Ultimate soulmatism.”
Seth turned to you with a grin but also frowned eyebrows: “Soulmatism?” “Yeah.” He snorted while laughing about it then. “But yeah, we’re the ultimate ones”, he added with a just as confident and sure tone as Jared had before.
And that was one of the usual breaking points where everyone engaged in at least three to five different conversations at once. An outsider would probably only hear a swarm of voices.
You and Seth casually ate from each other’s plate while discussing with Jared and Kim about the term highschool romance in the imprinting context.
“Well, you brought it up first”, you argued, “I only said it to counter you.”
“Ugh”, was the only thing Jared answered to that while Kim commented that it was a “good argument”.
When it was time to go you helped with the dishes and then said your goodbyes. You would have a sleepover - it was usual for you to stay at each other’s place since you had become friends all those years ago.
On the walk home Seth put a hand on his stomach with a pout: “I want something sweet.” You just took a little packet of gummy bears out of your pocket and handed it over to him. Seth seemed almost mesmerized by that: “How-?” “I know you better than I know myself”, you joked although it was quite true.
Your boyfriend looked at you with a certain sparkle in his eyes and scooted behind you while still walking to put his arms around your stomach.
“Seth”, you laughed while the both of you wobbled around more than walking, “we can’t walk like that.” “Don’t care”, Seth countered while hiding his face in your neck. He ate a gummy bear and held out one for you too.
At some point he got off your back again but stayed close while you walked to your place. He would stay with you for the night and you were glad that you didn’t have anywhere to be the next day. Actually getting up when having a sleepy Seth next to you has always been hard for you. He just looked so damn cuddly after waking up.
And he was warm - you were too, especially since your first shifting. It was so easy to wrap yourself around him and sleep some more.
It was rather late so you didn’t walk into someone anymore and then you were in your bedroom. You put on some music while Serth turned on the fairy lights that you had hung over your bed together when you were twelve. Then you flopped down next to him.
“I bet they’re still collecting arguments silently”, you started conversation again. Both of you were laying closer together, your shoulders brushing and hand holding onto each other. Seth snorted: “’Course they are, someone has to win.”
“For me we’ve won already, I don’t care what the others say”, you whispered and turned to look at your boyfriend. He smiled back at you: “We’re the winners of the hearts most definitely. They can all suck it.”
You laughed at his comment, then leaned forward to kiss him. “Yeah, we definitely are.” After changing and getting under the thin sheet that was your blanket you soon fell asleep cuddled closely together.
A/N: next part! I'm kinda hyped for this now so let's hope this turns out to be continued (I'm already working on other scene snippets with my daydreaming-power, just gotta remember or note them down) XD
2. A/N: Uh, I’m also not able to leave the reader all blank over all these parts and maybe even seasons. So I gave the reader a little bit of fucked up backstory to fit into the brelly-madness-vibe and bond with Five. (it also helps with the teenaged reader - or whatever age the reader is to not make this weird even if Five is already a bit aged up in my imagination - just randomly running around to save the world and not having anyone else worrying about them)
(there's a tag with the title)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 still, (brief mention of trying not to puke?), a bit is changed but overall plot is the same or at least close to the episode I guess, top/protective reader, Klaus my beloved (once again: just wanted to mention him), Dolores! (whop!whop!)
Together, we will save the world pt. 4
It was night when Five took you to a shopping market. “It’s closed”, you remarked but Five just took your hand again and you braced yourself for the jump. At least this time you didn’t feel like you’re gonna puke. “What if we get caught?”, you asked nervously. Normally you weren’t that uptight - especially since you had met Five - but it would take away time and in the worst case take you away from him.
“Don’t worry. Nobody’s here anymore and the cameras don’t work.” You didn’t ask him how he knew and followed behind. At first you thought that he just randomly wandered around but then he stopped. You were standing in front of display podiums with mannequins. And when you looked back at Five you could remotely make out this deeply hurt look in his eyes that he had also gotten when telling you about the time in the post-apocalypse.
You followed the shine of the torch he held. It shone on one of the mannequins’ face. “This is Dolores”, Five said then, “I found her shortly after finding my siblings’ bodies. And well.. I heard her speak. And I answered. So I took her with me.”
You looked at him again while he spoke and saw the tiniest smile on his lips. “You must think I’m insane now”, he turned his head to look back at you. “Well, not really”, you answered and took another quick look at her, at Dolores, “The human mind and body can do unimaginable things to survive and this was how you were able to get through all these years.. By being there, she was real to you and a great important part of your life. I don’t think you’re insane.”
Five looked at you with wide eyes and his lips slightly parted. Suddenly, he looked less like the annoyed stressed old man in a puberty ridden body but.. more innocent and soft. You could make out the exhaustion and the tiny quiet plead for help and comfort in him again. You looked at each other for a bit longer with no one talking.
When Five seemed like he wanted to say something again you were harshly interrupted by gunshots. Five dragged you down with him and portaled you to somewhere else between the clothing racks. You felt panic rise up in you. Sure, you had already witnessed and fought in the attack at your and Five’s first meeting. But now you were just completely shot at. No chance to grab a knife for you.
Five did most of the work while teleporting from place to place and distracting the shooters with false movements. The mannequins but especially Dolores had been shot from their place. Dolores upper half that was missing an arm was laying half-way beneath another rack and after a quick look exchange with the absolutely distressed Five you decided to save her for him. You didn’t know what came over you; there was no actual reason behind it, just impulsiveness. Somehow, you didn’t want it to end like this for Five.
After you had got her, Five tried to portal you away but it didn’t seem to work anymore. “Fuck”; he hissed through his teeth and looked around. The shooting stayed and you realized that you wouldn’t have much of a chance in a few moments.
But then you heard sirens - the police were coming. And the shooting stopped. You heard someone swear and then how the shooters ran away. You were still in shock so Five had to drag you behind him to the nearest exit while you still held Dolores in your other arm. You actually managed to escape before any authority arrived and through some back alleys you found your way to the Hargreeve’s mansion again.
When you dragged yourselves up the staircase you were greeted by Allison and Luther on the gallery. They seemed to be discussing something but when they saw you they stopped. “Oh, hey”, Luther greeted you with furrowed eyebrows, “Are you okay? Can we help you?” He tried to put a hand on Five’s shoulder but the boy swatted it away with a sour and exhausted expression. “You can’t do anything. None of you”, he spat at his siblings.
And he once again took your hand to drag you with him. It seemed to have become a habit around you. But you really didn’t mind, you got to hold a cute and smart boy’s hand.
Only when you were in Five’s room and had placed Dolores on a chair did you notice that Five was bleeding. “Your arm”, you pointed it out and Five looked down at it like he just noticed. “Oh”, he only said and looked up at you again.
“We gotta get something to patch you up”, you said and Five told you where you could find the nearest first aid kit. You went to get it and on the way you bumped into Luther and Aliison again - one of the reasons why you had told Five that you would get the kit.
“Hey, is he okay?”, Allison asked you. However, she was still inspecting you with narrowed eyes - she really appeared to still be suspicious of you. “Well, there’s just been a lot that didn’t go according to plan today”, you answered, “And yesterday. And probably a lot of times before that.” You tried to show her a smile that said ‘It’s like that, unfortunately.’ And after a few seconds of her keeping the stern expression while Luther already smiled back at you, she showed a tiny acknowledging smile too.
You turned away with the words: “Gotta go now.” and held up the kit as an explanation. Before Five’s siblings could say something else you had disappeared into his room again. “Could I ask you something rather personal?”, you started warily while unpacking the first aid kit. Five told you what you should use even though you actually already knew that - something he realized too when you did the steps he was about to explain.
“What is it about?”, he answered your question with another one. “Your siblings.” “Huh, alright”, he squeezed his eyes shut at the sting in his arm. “Soo”, you continued with his wound while contemplating how to formulate your question, “Why are they all.. like that? I mean, I’m really not normal myself and I don’t wanna judge- but they- you- are so.. just so! I know some about your story and that already explains much about- just how you are but how come that your siblings seem just as - and I’m sorry - deranged?”
“Oh, heh”, Five looked away with a face that looked more like a grimace than what could be a grin, “Well, our father really had his own mind.. and methods.. and all the rest. I admit, he knew what he was talking about”, Five seemed to get riled up more then, “And yes, I dived in the ice and didn’t fucking acorn like he warned me about and yes, that doomed my life in a certain way. But the way he acted has doomed all of his children’s lives collectively. I believe we were already quite prone to mental illness or whatever state we are in now but he caused all of that to activate in the worst way possible. I mean- look at us: even in death he distresses us.”
While he was talking you had almost finished treating him. “Damn”, you could only say while patching together the wound, “And I thought my family situation was fucked up.” “How is your family situation?”, Five asked and looked over your work. “If I may ask”, he added with a whisper like he had trouble being polite, which could be true according to your observation.
“Well, mom left - I don’t know where she is, I don’t know anything about her, she could be dead. And my dad died - I know that definitely, I was with him when it happened. Now I’m halfway part of the system but I managed to not live under the strict supervision of an ungrateful or even grateful foster parent. I just don’t want anyone else to have responsibility over me anymore. I can take care of myself quite well. I even have a job as you already know.”
“So, I have a broken and sometimes rather unwanted family and you don’t have one anymore - as far as you know”, Five concluded your conversation. “I guess so”, you put a bandage on Five’s arm and patted his shoulder. “I think you should rest a little bit. And I’m kinda tired too”, you packed the first aid kit and placed it on the desk. Five gave you silent agreement and you got ready for bed in your respective corners of the room.
Then you got to bed next to each other. You had already laid down when you felt the mattress dip next to you. You looked up at the ceiling that was faintly illuminated by the streetlights coming in through the window. “Is your arm okay?”, you whispered up at the ceiling.
“Yeah”, Five whispered back, “Thanks.” You looked at him in the corner of your eye and felt like Five was doing the same.
“Do you really wanna stay?”, you heard him after a little while. “Am I going?”, you retorted teasingly. “Not yet”, he answered. “So, I guess I’m staying.” Now you were completely turning your head towards him. “Unless you want me to go”, you added cautiously. He moved his head to look at you as well. “No”, he said a little too quickly, “I- I mean, I don’t mind you being around.”
“Good, I don’t mind being around you too”, you rolled on your side to face him completely. You smirked while looking at his faintly lit face that he seemingly tried to keep neutral. You didn’t know if it actually happened or if it was just hopeful wishing but he looked like he was slightly blushing. With that cute sight in front of you, you fell asleep soon.
—-
“Y/N”, you heard Five calling you in your dream. His voice was so soft and you turned around to search for him but he was nowhere around.
Then you realised that his voice didn’t come from your dream but from reality and that you were halfway asleep. When you were gently shook you slowly blinked open your eyes.
And when your eyes finally focused you noticed that he was already dressed in another, not shot at, school boy uniform. „You really have to get some other clothes than that“, you mumbled and sat up slowly.
„What‘s so wrong about this?“, he seriously asked you. „What is not wrong about this?“, you countered. When he looked at you questioningly you sat up straighter and swung your legs over the edge of the bed.
„First of all, the 90s are over. Second, no wonder no one takes you seriously when you look like a little boy that broke out of the weird catholic school that he was sent to against his will - especially with a behaviour like yesterday. And third, it‘s paradox and probably not helpful with letting your trauma heal when you wear clothes that were given to you by your emotionally - and what not else - abusive father. Oh, fourth - adding to this - also the clothes you were wearing when you got stuck in the apocalypse which once again probably doesn‘t help your mental state very much.“
Five looked at you and let his eyes scan over your whole face like he was searching for something. Then he raised an eyebrow at you: „You‘re coming at me with psychology?“ „Yes, I am.“ He grumbled with uncomfort clear on his face.
„You cannot deny it“, you said and then softened your voice, „I know it‘s hard to even just admit that you‘re not mentally okay but you‘ll have to at some point. Otherwise it might even keep you from succeeding or bring you to make false decisions.“
You stood up, then stepped a little closer to Five who had turned away a little bit. „I‘m here - I made that pretty clear yesterday. So, if you want to talk..“ You instinctively knew that he probably did not want to answer or even make eye contact now so you got dressed and ready to go wherever he had planned for today.
When you came out of the bathroom and back in the room you both stayed in you witnessed Five looking at Dolores. He held a bag in his hands - you had no idea where that came from.
„We can take her with us“, you said quietly, still standing by the door. He looked at you like he had just then noticed that you were there. Then he looked back at her. And then finally got up to gently put her in the bag.
„We can get out of the window. I really don‘t wanna see my family right now.“ „Alright“, you followed him out of the window and down a fire escape. He had the bag slung over his shoulder.
„Heyy!“ Well, the plan not to see any of his siblings was officially destroyed when Klaus‘ head suddenly popped up out of a dumpster.
„What the hell are you doing?“, Five asked, then quickly added: „You know what, I really don‘t wanna know.“
You snorted when Klaus bit into a bagel that he picked out of the dumpster. That man was so wildly crazy. But also relatable and sympathetic (and heavily queer). And even Five who didn‘t show it often seemed to still have a kind of soft spot like he probably did for all of his siblings.
„Oh, just chillin‘, as you do“, Klaus answered and leaned casually on the inside of the dumpster. Five just let out a „huh“ and turned to the car. „But what are youuu up to?“, Klaus shouted after him then. Five kept walking and answered: „None of your business.“
You waved to Klaus then followed Five who placed the bag with Delores so she was upright in the back of the van. He then got in the driver seat. „Uh, can you even drive?“, you asked while nervously getting in. „Sure.“
„Annnd do you have a license?“ „No official one for this time“, he answered while starting the car. „What if we get pulled up?“, you continued. „We won‘t“, the man next to you just answered nonchalantly. „Okay“, you still weren‘t quite sure about this but you trusted him for now.
He drove to no other place than the production company of the prosthetic eye he still had with him. When you looked at him questioningly he explained: „We‘re doing an observation.“
„Oh, okay“, you leaned back but then you heard your stomach grumble. „Well, for an observation we need snacks and something to drink. Also, I didn‘t have breakfast. I could get us something.“
He silently looked at you for a moment while you looked back with raised eyebrows and a smirk. “Alright, but don’t take too long.” “I won’t. Don’t worry.” You hopped out of the van and after a few energetic steps you turned back once more to salute to Five who had supposedly followed you with his gaze.
You went into the shop at the corner. If you had waited a little longer you had noticed Luther and Klaus going towards the van - but you didn’t. You stood in front of the aisles and thought about what Five would probably eat. Even though he drank his coffee black you had noticed him snacking the most sweet foods - he said it was because of the jumps that wore him out.
You decided on something sweet as well as a more healthy option. Then you noticed the coffee and went for that too. After paying and saying goodbye you made your way back, to straight up run into Klaus. “Oh hey”, you grinned at him, “What’re you doing here?”
“Heyyy, little friend”, he patted your head, “We wanted to get Fivey back to the academy - you know, important business to discuss. Well, I just got kicked out. Maybe you’ll have some more luck. I’ll- uh, do whatever.” Klaus twirled and looked around before he gave you a thumbs up.
You chuckled: “I’ll try my best.” Then you went around the van. There was no chance for your former seat at the moment since you saw Luther in it. So, you went to the driver’s door and knocked at its window. Five turned to you a little perplexed then rolled down the window.
“Got food as promised aaand something to drink”, you showed him the two coffee cups. Then you looked at Luther on the other side: “Sorry, didn’t know you were coming. Otherwise I could’ve brought you something too.” Luther smiled lightly but still had furrowed eyebrows and declined with thanks.
“Can I get in or this this too secret and personal?”, you asked and Five immediately answered even though Luther’s gaze became more uncertain. “You can.” “You sure?” “Yes”, he emphasized his answer and opened the door.
He took the snacks from you and you got into the van through the back door - although you had considered just crawling over Five’s lap for a moment. For the funsies and all. But you came to the conclusion that you really couldn’t do that.
“So, Klaus said something about family business”, you started and it was like you had summoned the demon because at that moment Klaus, with groceries in his arms, came running out of the store where you had just bought something. The owner yelled after him and Klaus was almost run over when trying to escape over the road, wildly laughing.
Five pinched the bridge of his nose while you held back a little chuckle. Klaus certainly served entertainment. Luther let out a sigh: “I guess I’ll leave you two then.” Then he got out. After a moment of looking after him you came crawling to the front again. “Did I say or do something wrong?”
Five looked at you again: “No, I did. We all did.”
A/N: @fandomz-brainrot you said if I ever continue I should tag you. Guess what, I liked the fourth season so little that I irresponsibly decided to continue this series further and maybe even get to the extend of rewriting much from the last season. Please don't expect continuity from me - I'm kinda terrible at that. But nonetheless, I hope you like this part!
(I also made a tag with the title so the parts can be found easier)
tags/warnings: set in season 1 still, brief mention of trying not to puke, I changed a bit of what happened but stuck more to the actual episode in this part, top/protective reader, Klaus my beloved (just wanted to mention him)
Together, we will save the world pt. 3
„Wait, you‘re running around with a prosthetic eye the whole time?“, you looked at said object lying in Five‘s hand.
„Of course, it has importance“, he looked at it for a moment, „I found it in Luther‘s hand when I landed in the post-apocalypse.“
„And what are you gonna do with it now?“, you inspected it after he dropped it into your held out hand.
„I have to find out who it belongs to. When my siblings had it shortly before they died in the apocalypse it‘s likely to belong to the Person causing the apocalypse. So if I stop them, I can stop the world from ending.“
You hummed and gave it back to him. „So what? We‘re gonna go there and ask?“
„Yes“, he already turned to walk away but then stopped in his tracks, „Wait. You wanna come with me?“
„Of course“, you grinned at him, „Why do you think I‘m staying for? Your sandwiches and overly bitter coffee? I‘m gonna help you.“
„Oh, okay“, you saw the slightest blush grow on his cheeks. „Then let‘s go“, he turned towards the door again and took your hand to pull you after him like he wanted to make sure now that you followed him. It was at least the third time already since you had met each other that he did this.
He would probably not want to drive there - you didn‘t have a clue where this company was but if he wasn‘t exhausted he usually used his powers. This morning he had almost scared you to death by randomly showing up behind you while you looked in the mirror. And he only did it to tell you that they had some breakfast made by their robot-mom-nanny.
You were right in your assumption because after a few steps your stomach turned around again while your vision blacked out for a moment. A second later you were standing in front of a grand building. You went inside and Five looked around. You were about to ask what he was planning to do when a man approached the both of you.
“Uh, can I help you?”, he asked and Five turned around to look at him. He got out the eye and showed it to the man.
The lady at the reception looked up and smiled at them softly: „Are you searching for your parents?“ „No“, Five answered, “I need to know who this belongs to.”
“Where did you get that?”, the man’s gaze went back and forth between the two of you with narrowed eyes. He probably thought you were irresponsible teenagers that wanted to mess around.
“We found it.. on the playground, actually. Must’ve just.. popped out.”, Five cleared his throat and put on a smile that others may think came from a cute little boy. But to you he looked like a little shit. “We want to return it”
“Oh, what a sweet gesture”, the receptionist commented. But Five didn’t care about any societal norms or respect. You noticed Five‘s smile freezing and his eyes becoming a certain glint that you wouldn‘t want to be on the other side of. The receptionist didn‘t notice anything about his mood shift.
Only when he said “Yeah, look up the name for me, would you?” her expression turned into an offended one.
“Sorry, patient information is strictly confidential”, the man spoke up again, “But i can take it and give it back. The owner will probably be grateful.” He reached out his hand.
“You can’t touch this”, Five hissed at him. You stepped forward a little but didn’t yet put your hand on his arm. You weren’t sure if it was part of his plan so you decided to stay low for a bit more.
“Listen here, young man”, the man said with a warning tone. Apparently something in Five snapped at this. He surged forward and took the front of the man’s doctor’s coat.
“No”, he hissed out sharply, “you listen to me, asshole. I’ve come a long way for this, so just give me the information.” Okay, yeah, you had just witnessed how his fragile nerves snapped. He seemed like he was boiling with anger on the inside when he added: “And if you call me young man one more time I will put your head through the wall.”
You weren’t sure what to do and looked at the scene in front of you. Your gaze was redirected when the woman let out an “oh dear”. The doctor turned to her: “Call security.” So she took the phone and Five let go peevishly.
Then he sighed and turned around to which you could see his visibly pissed off expression. He just took your hand again and pulled you with him. You threw a quick and very confused "Sorry, bye” in the direction of the two people while stumbling after your friend.
„Fucking ignorant people“, he hissed when you were out of the door. „So what now?“, you asked while trying to calm him down with a hand on his shoulder.
„I think I‘ve got an idea..“, he murmured and started walking again. “One of my brothers would do anything for a little money.”
When you were back at the mansion, Five called out Klaus' name. Said person came tumbling towards you from the living area only wearing underpants and a jacket. You couldn’t contain your laughter at this sight and snorted.
Klaus bowed in front of you and grinned: “Danke, danke.”
“We need your help”, Five said with a still grumpy face. “Oh, Fivey, youuu need my help? Do I get something for it?” He batted his lashes at them.
You could sense Five groaning internally. “Yes, I’ll pay you.” “Yay!”, Klaus twirled around for a moment, “So, what can I do for you?”
„You need to dress up“, your friend said and shouted after his brother who was already scurrying away, „like an actual appropriate adult!“
He sighed and turned to you: „Let‘s go to my room again. This will probably take some time.“
You went upstairs to the room you two have actually stayed in together since you had met each other. There was nobody who cared where you were and aside from work where you could take off you had no other responsibilities at the time. So it was easy for you to just stay there.
You had suggested sleeping on the floor or in one of the probably many other free bedrooms. But Five had passively insisted on you staying there with him, in the same bed.
You would’ve normally seen staying in the same bed as platonic but there was something - something unsaid but lingering between the two of you. His siblings seemed to at least have a slight hunch of this something too.
When Klaus was ready - after switching from his perception of professional clothing to a suit from their father - and you hastily got out of Viktor’s grasp you went to the company again with an adult at your side. It was an absolute fever dream you witnessed then. You could once again only stand to the side for a long time because it was so absurd - even for you. Klaus straight up gaslighted the doctor, punched Five in the process and then literally hurt himself with a ‘peace on earth’ snow globe.
However, at some point in between, the doctor tried to insult Five since he apparently had no idea of how to deal with Klaus anymore: „And how dare you, you assholish disrespectful child, to come here again!“
„Excuse you!“, you spoke up before one of the others could, „You have no idea what this is about. And by calling him assholish and disrespectful you are so yourself. What the fuck is wrong with your perception?“
The man looked at you with wide eyes. You weren’t sure but it felt like he hadn’t actively noticed you before that and was surprised to see another person - on top of that this younger person corrected his manners.
Five threw a quick smug smirk towards you and while he did that he felt kinda weird shortly. He couldn’t quite place it but he also didn’t have time because Klaus hurting himself and you scolding him pushed the doctor over his limits of weirdness-tolerance and he called security.
But before he could say anything Klaus took the receiver and presented another show by telling the guards that there had been an assault.
Even Five seemed shortly confused by that before he started grinning when Klaus further explained how the guards would be told that the doctor had assaulted them. “You’re a sick bastard”, the doctor then said to Klaus. After your breakout he wouldn’t dare to say something to Five again. Klaus answered with “Thank you” and soon after that you sat around the man looking through the files.
“That’s weird”, he commented once he found the right one. “What?”, Five asked and scooted a little closer to the edge of his seat. “The eye hasn’t been purchased yet. It’s- uhn”; the doctor became anxious again when Klaus hopped off the counter and came closer, “According to our files it hasn’t even been manufactured yet. Where did you get that eye?”
Five only sighed and looked down for a moment. Then he stood up took you by the hand again that day and went to get out. “Wait, what-?”, the doctor tried to follow you but Klaus put a hand on his shoulder to which the man flinched strongly. “Oh, don’t follow us, Gary. Or- you know”, Klaus showed him another ill grin and then followed you.
“This is not good”, Five mumbled once you were out. “But I was!”, Klaus chimed in, “Did you see me?” “Klaus it doesn't matter”, Five spat at his brother. You stood aside of the scene while Five explained “why that eye was so important anyway”, as Klaus phrased it.
“So, can I get my twenty bucks now or..?”, Klaus asked in response to that. Five was even more pissed off then: “The apocalypse is coming and all you think about is getting high?” “Well, I’m also a little hungry”, his brother countered, “tummy’s going brrrrm.” You let out snort then. Klaus really was quite funny actually. When FIve looked at you judgy you just raised your eyebrows like saying: “What? You gonna scold me now too?”
Five rolled with his eyes and sat down on the steps. You sat next to him and put a consoling hand on his shoulder. You knew that even though he had just told Klaus that he was useless he did all of that to save him and his other siblings - he loved his family.
“You know”, Klaus started again then, “I think I know why you’re so uptight all the time. You must be horny as hell!” He sat on the other side of Five who seemed to have ultimately have the last nerve being snapped while you tried to contain laughter as well as a blush again. “You should really get some action”, Klaus’ gaze towards you was stubbornly ignored by Five and you. “All those years by yourself”, Klaus sighed out.
“I wasn’t alone”, Five mumbled which caught your attention. You had noticed that he hadn’t told you everything the first time and now you were more than curious to hear more. You decided to ignore this nagging feeling in the back of your head when thinking about Five with someone (else) at that moment.
“Ooh”, Klaus was interested too, “Open up, little guy.” Five threw a quick undefinable glance towards you. “Her name was Delores. Had about thirty years together. But- well, everything comes to an end.” You contained the comment of how he tried to literally stop the end of the world. Meanwhile, Klaus was impressed by the number of years and started talking about a guy he had been together with - at least you guessed it was that.
But Five took your hand and before you could interpret what this meant he had portaled you in a taxi. Your head spun from the sudden jump and you had to close your eyes for a second to not empty your stomach in the car. When you opened them, Five, who had told the scared driver to keep driving, looked at you again with that undefinable look.
“You okay?”, you asked after looking at each other for a few seconds. “I guess”, FIve answered and looked out of the window. You weren’t sure because Five just sometimes seemed like his own species but you thought that you could make out the tips of his ears turning slightly pink.
You got out of the taxi after some time and went to eat something. You had once again told him to take care of himself. And you had - unfortunately from Five’s perspective - already figured out how to get him to actually do it. You pointed out that Five needed nutrition and rest to complete his mission to the best extent.
That was why you were once again sitting in front of each other in a diner - almost like your first meeting. You just hoped that you wouldn’t be attacked again. “Can I ask you something?”, you spoke up after ordering. “You already did”, Five answered with what you could make out as a smug look. “Ugh”, you rolled your eyes and threw one of those little sugar bags at him.
After dodging it Five decided to have mercy with you: “What is it?” “Uhm, about you not being alone. It’s just- you hadn’t mentioned anything like that when you told me about those years.”
“Because it wasn’t relevant”, Five countered. “Well, I don’t know. I think having company is kinda important for staying at least a little bit sane.” “But I wasn’t sane”, FIve said then. “What do you mean?”
Five was quiet for a few seconds. You waited patiently for him to continue if he wanted - you could only imagine that this huge part of his life had been more than traumatic. In the meantime, your food arrived and he took a sip of his coffee before speaking again.
“I can show you.. her. It will be easier to explain then”, he stated then. “Okay”, you were a little wary but after only about a day and a half with this boy you had become sure to trust him. Even if his methods sometimes were unconventional.

🍎 Twilight
❀ Seth Clearwater x male (werewolf) reader ⚣︎
A/N: Thank you so much for the request. I really loved to write this and sprinkled some own (partly media inspired) ideas about werewolves in it. XD I hope you'll like it.
tags/warnings: mention of scars, reader is a werewolf, Seth imprinted on him, disapproval from pack and council (but don't worry I usually want a happy end)
It's our duty to protect you
“Billy! Sue!”, Sam shouted with the rest of the pack following closely while keeping a complaining Seth in the middle, “We need to get Old Quil too.” The adults were shortly confused but decided to first comply and then figure out what was the great problem this time. Sam seemed really concerned and that meant something. When everyone was gathered the pack hadn’t got out of what seemed like a formation.
“Seth imprinted”, Sam started right away. Sue was about to congratulate her son who was still in the middle of the circle but then Sam spoke up again: “Wait. Listen first, please.”
“This is not fair”, the adults heard Seth saying once again.
“He imprinted on a werewolf”, Sam continued and the rest tensed up immediately, “And even kept it from us for what I can only assume are months.”
Sue looked at what she could spot from Seth, she couldn’t believe what she just heard. Her innocent and sweet youngest was supposed to be the soulmate of an apex predator - a creature that even the cold ones had feared so much that they tried to completely get rid of them.
“Who is this werewolf?”, Old Quil wanted to know. “He didn’t want to tell us more”, Sam explained and turned to the pack. With a nod he signalled them to open the circle and let Seth out with Leah at his side. He didn’t want to have to hold back people of his own pack but Seth had already tried to run away several times after telling them.
“Seth, please tell us, who are they?”, Sue put a hand on his cheek. But her son shook his head “No”.
“Seth, werewolves are dangerous”, Billy tried then, “They’re not like us. They don’t have control over themselves. They are predators, they kill anyone in their way.”
“We don’t want you to get hurt”, Sue added. It did not help with making Seth comply but he said something at least.
“So you’re just gonna hurt him first?!”
“Him?”, someone from the pack asked but that was not of importance for the adults at the moment.
“It’s our duty to protect you”, Old Quil countered, “You can not see him again. I’m sorry, Seth. But it’s for your safety.”
“No, please”, Seth’s eyes widened and his voice cracked when they filled with tears, “Please, you can’t. I- Please, he’s not dangerous. He would never hurt me.”
Sue gave her son another look of apology. “Leah, please get your brother to his room.”
“Make sure he doesn’t get out”, Sam added.
After sending the rest off, with still a lot of complaints from Seth, the adults sat around the table. They had to figure out how to get around the bond of imprinting because as much as they hoped that Seth had not actually imprinted Sam had to tell them otherwise. Once Seth first told them about it, the pack had felt the connection through the telepathy link for a moment. Their kindest member had imprinted on probably the most dangerous creature known to them.
While everyone either discussed his future or patrolled around his house, Seth sat on his bed. He held back the tears. He was pissed. So damn furious and frustrated. How could they just decide for him?! They didn’t even know what they were talking about! They didn’t know you. They didn’t know how strong your bond was. They only knew some vague legends and hearsaying. They were caught up in the fear of something and someone they didn’t actually know.
But he was also sad. Yeah, almost disappointed. He wasn’t allowed to see you again. It hurt. So much. He had imprinted on you. And that wasn’t fresh; you had already spent a few months together. He.. loved you. And he missed you. Seth felt like he should’ve never told the pack about you. He regretted it.
Then he came to the realization that he couldn’t stay in his room and just comply with the others. No. He decided to sneak out.
Thanks to a bit more heightened senses he could make out where everyone was. If he climbed out of his window and ran straight towards the forest he might have a chance.
And so he did. Seth tried to be as quiet as he could while opening the window and getting outside. He shortly checked his surroundings again and then he ran. First as a human to give himself advantage since their telepathy usually only worked in their wolf form. But then he shifted to be faster. The pack didn’t seem to have noticed yet and Seth used the very loose formation of the patrol to get by.
It wasn’t the first time that he snuck out of his window and through the forest to get to you. That was why he found his way easily to your small cabin. It was in a neutral territory and rather hidden which was probably why no one else had found it by now - at least you and he hoped that nobody had.
Seth turned back into his human form and knocked on the door. When you opened he was more than relieved.
“Hey”, you greeted Seth a little clueless and made space for him to come in. Then you saw the distress on his usually soft face. “Are you okay?”, you asked after closing the door and put a hand on his cheek. He leaned into the touch and sighed deeply.
“I told them”, Seth whispered. It still hurt how everyone had reacted and he just wanted to stop thinking which was why he fell into your offered hug.
“Didn’t go well?”, you asked carefully while circling your scarred arms around him. You didn't have that much of a height difference but in comparison to Seth who grew more muscular every week you were as thin as a toothpick. The shifting was painful and you sometimes getting hurt on top of that - mostly because you often locked yourself in to not accidentally hurt anybody else - took so much energy off you that your body reflected it.
You felt Seth shake his head on your shoulder and sighed too. You had warned him from the beginning. You had told him what you turned into and that it was dangerous to be around you when you were turned. You had also said that others probably wouldn’t react well to hearing about you and your condition.
But Seth had decided to stay. He had decided to get to know you and before you realized it you fell deeply for him. His sunny and loveable behaviour, his kindness and care, his bright smile and his soft touch.
Yeah, you’ve expressed several times that you weren’t sure if you deserved him but when he had expressed how sure he was about you you fell even more.
“Wanna go in the garden?” Seth looked up again and smiled while nodding. Then he leaned forward and stole a little kiss from your bruised lips. You lightly chased after him for a longer kiss but he already turned around and dragged you behind him through your back door.
You cuddled closely together on the lounger you had standing there. While your hand went soothingly through Seth’s hair you occasionally placed kisses over his cute face. He traced the dark circles beneath your eyes and when he looked at you with a little worry about it you just reassuringly kissed his hand with a smile. You were fine. More than fine now that Seth was next to you and kissed you and caressed your scars. God, you were so gone for him you would do anything he wanted.
When you attacked him again with kisses all over his face he laughed out loud. But that moment didn’t stay for long. Suddenly you heard a voice calling out Seth’s name and then there were several people standing at the border of your garden.
Seth braced himself for what was gonna come next. They were gonna tell him off, scold him for sneaking out to see you. But to his surprise none of that happened. He saw the council and many pack members just standing there. Some had the looks of disbelief on their faces while looking between him and you who was still holding him tightly and halfway hiding your face in his neck.
Yeah, they didn’t expect that and Seth was a bit smug. He had told them that you wouldn’t hurt him but they just didn’t want to listen. They were officially proven wrong now because it was more than clear that you were a complete softie for him.
In the end most of the pack even got to know you better and witnessed how much effort you put in protecting Seth as well as controlling your werewolfism. And even though she would not admit it out loud for some time, Leah recognized why you had been destined as Seth’s imprint. It seemed almost like a puzzle in Seth’s soul had been completed by being with you - a dangerous creature that was wrapped around his finger.
