A Toy Buyer’s Guide to Brimfield
Brimfield is a sleepy little town in Massachusetts that, three times a year, turns into a gigantic outdoor flea market. I grew up slinging Antinques at my father’s side and spent many summer days in Brimfield, but this past week was my first time going to the show as an adult. I noticed online there were zero articles about what toy / action figure collectors could anticipate, so I decided to write one.
2 Per Field - Overall the show is antique focused, toy sellers are far and few. The majority of what you will see is McDonalds toys and Matchbox / Hot Wheels car. It seemed each field (the show is broken up into several different fields) had on average two vendors who were selling toys, the majority of which are selling more traditional goods.
Scores- That being said, there are some great deals to be had. One tin toy seller had big bins (see first two pics) of Fast Food toys that had some great action figures sprinkled in. I scored 1995 Bandai Protoman and Rush (complete) for 3/$1
Heat- My most distinct memory of Brimfield is how hot it is, regardless of what time of year you attend (May, June, Sept). Bring water, bring a hat, wear sunblock, don’t bring your pet.
Entry Fee- Most fields are free to enter, but one lot charged $5, under the auspice it was the premium field with the very best items. I’d advise you skip it because there were zero toys or collectibles there.

Overall, the sellers are sparse, but I found a couple great toys at rock-bottom prices– so if you can manage your expectations, I think it’s worth the trip.
