elina sat in front of her house, gripping a book tightly in her hands. she’d been avoiding everyone since she’d gotten back from her “adventure”, preferring not to talk about it. hearing footsteps near her, she looked up, accidentally making eye contact with the person. she quickly shoved her nose farther into her book, pulling her knees closer to her chest, hoping they’d get the hint.

devon had been walking around the neighborhood and when she saw elina sitting in front of her house. she hadn’t seen elina in a few days and she could tell something was wrong. despite elina ignoring her, devon sat next to her. “hey,” she said softly, “i missed you.”
