â Are they there at all, or is it just paranoia? â

Fraser looked ahead, fingers fiddling with his keys as he stood on the side of the road and waited for the light on the crossing to turn green. The cars kept passing by and once the traffic slowed down, from the corner of his eye, he noticed the person next to him made a move to cross the road while the light was still red. The cop inside him instinctively piped up before they could go through with it, âJaywalking is illegal, you know. Itâs not safe crossing the road while the light is red, no matter how much the traffic slowed down.â Geez he sounded like his mother.

âNext time you wave that thing near my face, Iâll break it.â Andre said in a very low voice, his patience running low with each passing minute.

âLook, do you seriously think you could take me in a game of darts?â Max didnât want to sound condescending but precision was something he took a lot of pride in and not many people could take him on just like that. âHow about a bet then?â

This flower store had been in his family for generations and he was proud to continue on the tradition. He wasnât the brightest but he didnât need to be when flowers were in his blood. The Earth witch noticed a customer with a difficult choice between flowers âyou know flowers can mean a multiple of things, what are you trying to convey?â

Itâs was just part of being a uin student partying. But Marco takes it to the next level, hosting his own because apparently one of his mother supported it fully she even came out with him. And heâd never been embarrassed by her when she did, he loved it. But this time she had just given him money âlet me get you a drink itâs on my mamĂĄâ

He locked his lips from the other side of the room as her saw the other âgive me a twirl...â he asked as they approached wanting to appreciate his new company to their fullest

âOh stop... Iâm a married woman, flirting wonât get you as far as you think.â Maybe a better deal on weapons.

The pharmacy had been a growing business. Between the humans who were taking more and more supplements to consensually feed vampires and witches in need of ingredients or potions to restore their strength, or even the occasional werewolf who popped in with some bizarre set of symptoms, Ayerton couldnât complain. Not about the cash. Clients on the other hand, were often stubborn. âIâd love to help you,â heâd been telling the human when the next person entered, the bell announcing a new comer. âBut, like my assistant told you, what youâre looking for is not available without a medical prescription.â Be it from a human or a supernatural doctor. The human left in a hurry, banging doors and making a fuss. âSorry about that,â he told the person in line. âWhat can I help you with?â @devilsplaybookstartersâ
It had been an impulsive decision. Some creepy ass motherfucker had been hot on her tail since her first errand at the bakery this morning. She was due at work in⊠half an hour. And no way in hell was she going to let this stalker learn where she worked. So she casually dropped into the only booth with a solo client, hair tossed over one shoulder. âCan you just pretend to know me for like ten minutes?â Stalker dude entered the establishment and Zara had no choice but to tilt her head back and laugh as though the person before her had said something funny. The creeperâs eyes darted back and forth between the pair before slowly backing out and leaving. âWhat an ass.â @devilsplaybookstartersâ
Nani had been curious regarding the town that had become notorious for harbouring a mix of species. While the curiosity may have killed the cat, it certainly held no power over vampires. And the first stop of any town: casinos. Heâd always made reasonable cash, as good fortune was often at his side. âIâm feeling lucky tonight,â he admitted, tugging the lapels of his blazer and straightening the fabric once he exited the sleek vehicle. @devilsplaybookstartersâ
âIs this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide No escape from reality,â
She sang loudly, not particularly caring for her pitch or the tone. Nothing like a good old classic to make you lose your voice the next day. âDonât you just love karaoke?â

âHey, there isnât a single rule in truth or dare that says Iâm not allowed to dare you to buy me a pizza,â she shrugged and leaned back in her chair, a smug smile plastered on her face. âPepperoni is my favourite, just so you know.â @devilsplaybookstartersâ
