ˊ insatiable hunger - on appetite. ˊ

the nine - tailed fox is more than capable of feeding on ˊ human ˊ food, but prefers to follow a vegetarian diet for the most part. this, however does not satisfy her needs if famished and requires her to devour souls, of the living, of one at the brink of death, or of the dead. upon the consumption, the living passes away as their soul is harvested. the process of plucking out one’s essence allows ahri to have a glimpse of their lives through the memories they have lived as well as feel the last emotion they felt before dying. it deeply saddened her to take innocent lives, or to absorb the life force of one, albeit after losing her family in the battle of the placidium, she has taken upon to accepting her necessity, turning into a more ˊ monstrous ˊ creature deemed from before. still weighing heavily on her, ahri continues to struggle w/ her eating habits. she refuses to feed on the spirit of animals & vastayans alike, only doing so when they have passed away, but she no longer hesitates to freely feast upon humans ; infact choosing to even ravage upon their flesh at times.

solitude was ahri’s companion until a piltovan gentleman, eduard santagelo bewitched the vastayan fox. his frailty entwined w/ tenderness captured her heart and she found herself devoted to the man. they shared a brief romance prior to the completion of his research, upon which he returned to ionia, to ahri. the explorer and his beloved started a family soon after and ahri birthing two boys. shortly before the battle of placidium, eduard was falsely accused and captured by the navori brotherhood, managing to escape w/ ahri’s help, on accord of being fatally wounded when the war broke out which also took the lives of her sons. eduard pleaded for her to keep him and their children in her heart, insisting she devours their soul and memories, comforting her in the words that they would be able to make new ones as long as they were w/ her. even upon her lover’s death, ahri chooses to adorn her name w/ eduard’s last name.
