Pairing: Chanyeol x gender neutral reader
Rating/Warnings: Bad jokes (I'm not sorry. I'm hilarious), it's just fluff
Synopsis: Just a festive Halloween Chanyeol fic, he's a scaredy cat (everyone playfully torments him) and he's crushing HARD
Word Count: 3400-ish
Chanyeol is nearing the end of his twelve hour shift, and he's beyond exhausted. "Only two hours left." He sighs quietly, not wanting to disturb the coffee shop's customers. The pay from the extra shifts seemed like a great idea at the time, but the hours are starting to catch up with him.
"Two hours until what?" a quiet voice asks.
The alert of a new customer sends Chanyeol right into customer service mode. "Hi, how do you brew?" He has never regretted those words leaving his mouth as much he does now, after seeing you. His face and ears begin turning red and there's absolutely nothing he can do to stop it. "Sorry, it's just something stupid our boss makes us say."
"It's okay," you reassure him. "I thought it was fa-brew-lous." Your attempt at making him feel better only makes him more flustered, his blush deepening. "What do you recommend?"
You're met with a blank stare, and Chanyeol forgets everything on the menu, unable to suggest even the most basic drink.
Kyungsoo, a coworker sees Chanyeol crash and burn over the cute customer and knows he has to save the day. He walks up and clears his throat to grab Chanyeol's attention from his daydream. "How does a pumpkin spice latte sound?"
It's mid August but you figure there's no harm in enjoying the seasonal beverages if they're already out. It's little warm outside, but the cafe was a cooler temperature, so you're sure you'll be fine and able to enjoy the drink anyways. Plus, if you didn't choose a drink soon then you might not get one if Chanyeol was going to serve you.
"Sounds great."
Kyungsoo nudges Chanyeol as he passes by, wanting to remove himself from the situation. "Do you think you can handle that?" He mutters under his breath, only loud enough for Chanyeol to hear.
"Could I trouble you to substitute soy milk?"
"Of course. It's no trouble at all," Kyungsoo answers. "If you want to take a seat Chanyeol will be right over with it."
Chanyeol is in fact not right over with it. The first drink he makes is a tea, the second attempt he forgot the soy milk substitution, the third time was not the charm, he did only soy milk. Now all that's left is to carry it over without spilling your drink and thanks to Kyungsoo who placed a lid on the cup, it was possible.
"It's on the house." It's the least he can do for making you wait so long. "Enjoy."
The coffee was terrible, you assume he must be newâŚhe's not.
It's the closest coffee shop to your apartment, so you make sure to stop by there more often. It helps that the barista is cute, but Chanyeol isn't too quick to catch on that you're flirting with him.
A cool, dark Friday evening, the aroma of pine and cinnamon fill the apartment, pumpkin flavoured coffee in one hand and TV remote in the other, you are set to have a festive and relaxing evening. Just as you go to grab the Halloween blanket you were gifted just a few months back, came an obnoxious pounding from the front door. You consider not answering it, but when the knocks increase in volume you decide that maybe answering isn't a terrible idea. Especially for the neighbours who shouldn't have to deal with it.
"This better be important," you mutter aloud to no one but yourself. It was too quiet for the person on the other side to hear, but they would be aware that you are absolutely annoyed that your peace was disturbed.
What you didn't expect though was Chanyeol to show up unannounced. Yes, the cute clueless barista who recently moved into your building and turned into a good friend. The day he moved into the building you cursed the moon and stars, and blamed Mercury being in retrograde. Clearly the universe has it out for you. It was the only logical explanation for this awkward, lanky man stumbling into your life. Some might say it's fate.
"Did you get stabbed or something?"
"I ran." In attempt to catch his breath, Chanyeol doubles over trying to regulate his breathing, bracing himself on your counter. There was a small piece of black paper in his hand which catches your eye, but he stands back up and helps himself to your living room before you can ask it is. "Oh what're you watching?"
"I was trying to watch IT."
"Alone?!" Yes, Chanyeol loves Halloween and dressing up, but watching scary movies alone? No way.
"What do you want?"
"Oh right!" Chanyeol got distracted the moment he saw you, the reason for his unannounced visit instantly gone from his mind making the paper in his hand meaningless. "Here."
To you, the paper looks like a regular party invitation, it's decorated with a Ouija board and spider webs. Someone went a bit too crazy making the invite. You're unable pinpoint anything off-setting and hand it back to him.
"There's no return address and my name is literally scratched into this thing!" Chanyeol is absolutely dead certain that someone is trying to scare him, and it's working. He ran to you hoping that you could dismiss his fears, but it's looking like you can't. "I don't even know anyone with a cabin the woods!"
"It's just a party invite, it'sâŚ" You look down at your watch for the date. " - Late September, people are preparing for Halloween." You say it like it's the most obvious thing in the world, and to you it is the obvious answer.
"None of my friends have said anything about a party!"
"Maybe it's some kids in the building fucking with you." That one you believe a little less. Chanyeol forgetting that a friend mentioned a party in passing is the most likely solution. If he really is as frightened as he claims a part of you wasn't sure how he managed to trek down to your apartment on the 13th floor without that scaring him even more.
"Do you want some company, or should I leave?"
"Do you want company?" You ask, eyebrow raised.
Chanyeol answers you with a nod. The feeling of fear began to dissipate now that he's not alone. Who had his address? Who had sent creepy invitations without context? All he knew was that he is beyond thankful for your willingness to accept him as company for the evening.
Immediately, Chanyeol makes himself at home, your blanket covering his long legs and your Ghostface pillow squished between his arms, now ready to watch the movie he interrupted. If there was anything you learned about him, it was the he was very expressive. Every jump scare hits Chanyeol as if he has never seen a horror movie before. You have to spend most of the time watching Chanyeol to make sure you don't accidentally get hit by his flailing limbs. You're not able to enjoy much of the movie, but him and his reaction are cute enough that you let it slide. It doesn't take long for the unnecessarily tall man to become a ball of himself.
"Your height really is just for decoration, isn't it?"
"I can be tough."
The moment those words leave his mouth, Chanyeol lets out a scream of terror and pushes himself to your end of the couch. At that point you decide to turn it off, there's no possible way he can sit through it and fall asleep tonight. But you still find Chanyeol glued to to your side, his frame towering over yours. So much for tough.
"I'm going to call it a night. Are you going to head home or did you want to crash on my couch?"
"Your couch is pretty comfortable."
It wasn't much of an answer, but it tells you everything you need to know - that you have an overnight guest.
It's not often that Chanyeol stops by but the few times he has, he just uses the decorations that surround your front door to go off of. This time you have a wreath, it's made from branches decorated with orange leaves and bats. That starts to get him thinking. Maybe it was you that sent the invitationâŚ
"Just curiousâŚwhat's your apartment number again?"
"Thirteen."
It takes quite awhile for Chanyeol to calm down, but once you confirm he's asleep, you take another look at the "cryptic" invitation. Everything still looks normal, but something does manage to catch your eye as you flip it around, there's something on the back. The writing was small but it was the answer Chanyeol was looking for: a phone number paired with the name 'Baekhyun.' Mystery solved.
You leave it with the back facing up before you go to bed, in hope that it catches his eye in the morning.
"Be cool. You can do this. Be normal." Chanyeol takes a peak at the text message Sehun sent but there aren't any words just an emoji, a chicken. "I'm not a chicken." It wasn't the moral support he was aiming for but he knows Sehun enjoys teasing him, and he can't let his friend have the last word.
There is no way one knock is that difficult. Just as he reaches his hand up to knock he can hear the sound of your keys jingling and he freezes into place. When you open your apartment door Chanyeol is still standing there with his hand unmoved.
You let out a small laugh and grab his wrist to lower it back down to his side. Chanyeol does his best to act cool at the contact but can barely manage to take his eyes off your hand. He often finds himself wondering if his feelings are obvious and if there's any chance they're reciprocated.
"Hey, what's up?"
"UhâŚ" I want to spend more time with you, and maybe if today goes well I can gather up enough courage to ask you to be my date. "I came to see if you wanted to go shopping with me. I have to grab some stuff for the Halloween party."
"Let's go, I'll drive."
It's probably for the better that you're driving. Over the past month or so of knowing Chanyeol you learned that sometimes he gets in his own head. Which is exactly what he's doing now. Asking you out might be more scary than the unknown invitation that had Chanyeol knocking on your door the other night.
"So, it's funny how you were leaving as I went to knock, huh?" There's nothing more he wants than to kick himself. You've known each other long enough that small talk isn't necessary.
"I heard you out there talking to yourself."
For the rest of the car ride to the mall staring out the passenger window becomes his main source of entertainment. There's no way he's going to be able to ask you out with the way he embarrasses himself. Maybe if he's honest with you things will be easier for him. Or if by some miracle you feel the same way about him, you'll find his awkward side endearing. The car ride is a lot longer when you can't get out of your own head.
"Hey, we're here."
Chanyeol doesn't say much while you walk around mall, all you know is that he's looking for costume ideas, and a few snacks for the party. The sound of his stomach grumbling is the first smile you see on him all day and you both agree to stop for a lunch break.
While you're eating your lunch you're also watching Chanyeol with curiosity as he pushes his meal around with his fork. There's only so long you can wait for this to go on before saying something.
"You're being weird. What's going on?"
"Willyoubemydatefortheparty?" Well, that's one way to do it. Right to the point.
"Can you run that by me again, but a bit slower this time?"
"Will you be my date for the party?" Chanyeol is still a little nervous, but now with that off his chest, things are slightly less stressful. He's sure you'll yes under normal circumstances but as a date? He's not so certain.
"I'd like that."
"It's totally cool if you don't- wait what?".
This calls for a text to Sehun, he types up a quick: "I have a date. I told you I'm not a chicken!" and throws on the middle finger emoji at the end.
The rest of the trip to the mall goes by smoothly. Sure, Chanyeol is still in his own little world but at least he isn't freaking out. A few hours later you're able to acquire your own Halloween costumes and the snacks.
"Hey, Chanyeol. How embarrassing would it be if it wasn't a costume party?"
That wasn't a concern until now, so he whips his phone out to get a hold of Baekhyun for confirmation. The following text is good news, it is a costume party. You originally say it as a joke but you're glad he asked.
Before you know it you find yourself back at your apartment door, not really wanting the day to be over. You both stand there for a moment contemplating the next move. What do you say? What do you do? Do you say bye? Do you invite him in? Do you do neither of those things, bolt inside and let out screams of joy that are muffled by a throw pillow?
"Well, I had fun today."
Chanyeol's also wondering his next move should be. Has anything changed? Was today a date? Does he ask you on a date that isn't the Halloween party?
"I should probably go -"
The words die before they leave his mouth when he feels your lips gently press against his cheek.
"See you later."
Just as quick as the peck on the cheek happened, you're already inside your apartment. Chanyeol presses his fingers where your lips once were and smiles.
"Best day ever."
The evening of the Halloween party is eerie, and dead quiet, except for the chattering of Chanyeol's teeth. It could be from the temperature or fear, could be both.
"What has you so spooked?"
"We're in the middle of nowhere and it's creepy out here!"
He's right, but you're not going to tell him that. One of you needs to be tough, and there's no way it's going to be him. The wind is howling, or a coyote, you're not too sure. There's no sign of life; no cars, the curtains are closed which makes it impossible for you to take a peak inside. Every part of you is hoping he gave you the right directions.
"Do you want me to hold your hand?" you tease, not expecting him to actually grab hold of your hand. "Is this even the right address?" Chanyeol doesn't answer right away and only manages a weak and nervous smile, his tall frame cowering under your glare. "Where's the invitation?"
"On my kitchen tableâŚ"
"Chanyeol!"
"I'm sorry! I had the address memorized!"
There's no way that's possible, you don't believe him, he must have made a mistake somewhere. A mix of annoyance and bravery washes over you, prompting you to open the cabin door. Chanyeol lets out a yelp and trails behind you into the cabin as if he's your shadow.
The cabin is cool, dark, there's faint music coming from somewhere, and decorations are hung up around the living area. You turn on every light source you walk by to at least try and make Chanyeol less scared. You might be at the right place, or there's a slight chance he could be right and you're at the wrong place that also happens to be throwing a party. The living room doesn't give you much to work with for confirmation, so you move on to the kitchen in hopes of at least finding a piece of mail with a name or anything useful.
"Should we leave?" Chanyeol is doing his best to keep an eye out for any potential homeowners orâŚghosts⌠"I think this classifies as breaking and entering."
"We didn't break anything to get inside."
The kitchen was unfortunately unable to provide you with information. There's no way you could call Baekhyun to make sure the two of you are at the right place, neither of you were able to get cell service this far out.
"We're trespassing. We broke the law to get inside!"
"I'm never going anywhere with you ever again, you stress me out." There's the part where he left the invitation at home, him panicking over the invitation that got you here in the first place, the constant screaming while watching scary movies. You don't mean it though, you can handle him just fine. He's just too much fun to tease.
"Come on you have fun with me."
"You raise my heart rate."
"Are you saying you're crushing on me so bad that I make your heart race?" The flirtatious mask doesn't work when the poor guy is quaking in his boots. "Wait, quiet, I heard something downstairs." Chanyeol sees the way your eyes light up but is able to grab your wrist before you can manage to take off towards the sound. "That's how people die in horror movies!"
"Fine, I won't go down there. You're such a party pooper."
"Can we just go?"
This time you finally agree to leave, if you're in the wrong place then you've definitely overstayed your welcome at this point. Chanyeol loosens his grip on your wrist but slides his hand into yours to drag you towards the front door, there's no way he's going to stay there any longer than necessary. The moment you reach the front door everything goes black, followed by a loud bang from downstairs that you barely manage to hear over the bloodcurdling scream that most definitely did not come from you.
"You're so easy to scare." Except it's not you that says it. Thankfully you can feel Chanyeol relax at the sound of the other voice, and you can feel everything with the way he has you pressed between himself and the door.
Chanyeol lets out a sigh of frustration, but finds himself relieved. "Baekhyun you're an asshole!"
"We just wanted to fuck with you a little." Baekhyun side steps to get a look at you and greets you with a nod. "Thanks for your help."
Shortly after Chanyeol asked you to be his plus one for the party he made sure to introduce you to a few of his friends beforehand, he didn't want you to feel too out of place. He did it for your comfort, not so you and his friends could gang up on him!
You hadn't taken participation in designing the invitation, that was all Baekhyun, he wanted something spooky, which was exactly what you suspected. Chanyeol forgetting the invitation on his kitchen counter wasn't planned either, but it worked out in your favour. Then the wind howling in the night really helped set the mood. All you needed to do was walk into the 'unoccupied' house and then act like you were going to head into the basement. Baekhyun was in charge of playing eerie music and the loud bang that scared Chanyeol on a hidden speaker. The lights going out was a last minute decision by Sehun who flipped the switches on the breaker. As for the cars, they're parked at the back of the cabin out of sight.
"I'm so betrayedâŚand impressed." At least now he knows you get along with his friends. "I'm going to run back out to the car and grab the snacks. You guys better be here when I get back."
Baekhyun yells down to their friends still in the basement to come upstairs. Finally, Kyungsoo was getting bored and impatient waiting for Chanyeol to finally be told what was going on, and Jongdae ran to the bathroom, but still made to sure to yell out a "hello" to you.
Chanyeol returns to the cabin with the snacks in hand and all of his favourite people gathered together in the living room. As tempting as it is, Jongdae refrains from sneaking up behind his friend and scaring him even more.
"I'm surprised you didn't run back inside," he teases.

Pairing: Seungcheol x gender neutral reader
Rating/Warnings: 18+, dry humping
Synopsis: Seungcheol had a bad day at work and just wanted to relax
Word Count: 1300-ish
Seungcheol had a rough day at work. All he wants to do is fall face first into bed and scream into his pillow. The morning traffic was awful, he hit every red light, he was given the wrong coffee order but was in such a rush that he didn't know until it was too late and he was long gone from the coffee shop. All of his clients were rude, there was something wrong with everyone's accounts that he had to fix, so he was late getting off work. Of course, with it being Friday he couldn't have a good day and was fated with a rough end to the week.Â
You've been together long enough that you were able to pick up on the frustration of his sighs, no matter how faint they are.Â
As much as Seungcheol wants to head to bed, he can't. Not when he sees you lounging in your new reading chair enjoying what he assumes is another cute romance novel. You peek up and over your book to give him a sweet smile and your eyes say a million words. That you're there for him. Seungcheol straightens his posture and has to fight back tears that are threatening to fall.Â
The work day sucked, but you make everything suck so much less. It doesnât take long for him to get comfortable in the chair with you.Â
Seungcheolâs eyes widen as he follows along with your book. What confuses him the most is how you donât appear to be bothered by what youâre reading. Your breathing is steady, face is expressionless, like youâre reading a normal book, and heâs lying between your legs, head on your stomach and he can feel his ears turning red and his jeans tighten. He could look away, but the shock of what youâre reading has caught his attention, and he canât seem to look away.Â
You notice his movements as he tries to readjust himself, and decide to close your book, placing it on the arm of the chair. Â
âYou okay?â
âYour book is veryâŚâ Seungcheol tries to find the right word to describe the sex scenes in your book. âDescriptive?â Once again, he shifts, almost as if that would make his jeans feel less tight, but he knows itâs a lost cause. âIâm sorry, I donât mean to be distracting. Please, enjoy your book.â
Not wanting the book to get in the way, you take it off the arm of the chair and place it on the coffee table. You knew that was the end of reading for you, and you were more than okay with that.
âYouâre so much more important than the book, though.â
Your hand starts on his chest and slides down his torso to the top of his jeans, mindlessly toying with the button and zipper. Seungcheol places his hand on top of yours, sighs and lets his body sink and relax into yours. As you move your hand to delicately drag your fingers over Seungcheolâs cock, he pushes his hand hard onto yours and tilts his head backwards to rest on your shoulder, a soft moan escaping his lips.Â
âPlease. Donât stop.âÂ
âIâm sorry you had a rough day.âÂ
Seungcheol finds himself pressing even harder against your hand, your thoughtfulness turning him on even more. Finally accepting the fact that youâre not going to keep reading and are more than willing to give Seungcheol what he needs, he changes positions so he can face you, desperate for more. Slowly, you slide your hands into your boyfriendâs hair and gently tug. The sight of Seungcheol makes your brain falter for a moment, he looks stunning, staring up at you with his beautiful brown eyes; wide and begging, almost as if heâs ready to cry.Â
âWork for it.â
Those words flip a switch in Seungcheol and he has his face buried in your neck, leaving a trail of bite marks all while moving his hips, dragging his cock over your thigh. While youâre dragging your nails down his back, the noises that are coming out of him, the way heâs moaning your name, itâs all music to your ears. One hand on the back of the chair, Seungcheol takes his free hand to place at the top of your jeans, his pace never faltering. The words that slip past his lips are broken, he can barely form a sentence.Â
âDamn. I didn't think a simple sex scene in a book would turn you on this much.â
He ignores your teasing and manages to ask through his moaning. âCan I touch you? Please?â
There is no way you are going to cave in so easily to the pouty look on his face, no matter how much you want to. Thatâs when the idea hits you. You place your hand along Seungcheolâs jawline and delicately drag your thumb across his bottom lip. Without hesitation his mouth parts and closes around your thumb, sucking it into his mouth.
âNo. You can't.â You finally answer after what feels like an eternity. Seungcheol places his hand on top of yours and pulls your hand away and presses his lips to the back of your hand to show he understands. âBut Iâll touch you. Get on your back and take your shirt off.â
Without a word, his arms are flailing while he tries to remove his shirt as quick as he can possibly manage, tossing it across the living room as if the fabric offended him.Â
âJust tell me what to do.â Seungcheol switches places with you and lets his body relax into the chair, ready to accept whatever youâre willing to give him. âIâm yours.â
âThank you. I love you.âÂ
Youâre fully aware of his eyes on you while you kiss down his chest and abdomen, appreciating every inch of him.
âI love you-â Seungcheol lets out a gasp of excitement when you get to the button of his jeans, lifting his hips up to help you take them off. â-too.â
Wanting to help your boyfriend relax, you took your time with him, not quite giving in to what he wants and, calmly stroking his cock through his boxers.
âI love these boxers on you. They make your ass look great.â Your hands move to hold his hips and then slide your fingers into the waistband. âWe should take them off.â
âPlease. Iâm a grown man. I donât want to cum in my boxers.â
âBut itâs so sexy,â you counter. âSeeing you all fucked out and desperate.â
The relief on Seungcheolâs face is clear when you pull his boxers down, his cock finally free from the restricting fabric. The only mistake he makes is looking down at you, eyes full of lust staring up at him, your tongue sticking out, getting ready to take him in your mouth. The sight has him pushing his cock towards your mouth, and the slight touch of the tip of his cock to your lips instantly triggering his orgasm. The dry humping, the teasing, you. There was no way for him to hold back, leaving himself and your face a mess.
âIâm sorry!â Heâs trying to get up to help clean you up, until you stop him.
âItâs fine. Donât move. I donât want anything getting on the chair.â
Slightly embarrassed at himself, Seungcheol watches you as you collect some tissues to clean everything up, but takes them from you.
âIf you do it Iâll just get hard again.â
âYou say it like itâs a bad thing.â
âGive me an hour.â He smiles. âHow about we get cleaned up and order dinner?â
An offer thatâs hard to refuse, and thatâs exactly what you do. Once dinner comes to an end Seungcheol finds his way back in your embrace. One leg thrown over yours and his head on your chest, ready for a nap that has been calling to him all day. There will never be anything better than ending the day with you.Â
