Turquoise October was formed by four octolings; Names: Tad, (Takumi) Ula (Uran), Raina (Riho), Qubi (Kai). Their group is managed by DJ Octavio. The group first started in Splatoon 1, making music for the campaign.
hereās where i get into the real lore: Takumi, Uran, Riho, and Kai were very loyal subjects to Octavio, and they were all very interested in music and such. So when Octavio had chosen them to be the representative music group for him and his octolings they were like āHell Yea!ā.Ā
Marina from Off The Hook was once apart of the group. Something that sets the members of TO apart from other octolings is that they have turquoise colored hair. Another octoling, Warabi, was not apart of the group, but had some features on songs (this is a little important cuz this has to do with Underwater Neon).Ā
Turquoise October songs do not usually use vocals, mostly just samples and instrumental. But, the song Octoling Rendezvous does have vocals from Riho and noises from the other members.Ā
A main reason why Marina split, except from wanting freedom, is also because she was the youngest member. The others wouldnāt take her seriously and ignore her feedback or ideas for songs. She still was heavily influenced by the other members because of their unique music style (As seen in the Ebb and Flow demo!!)
The group stuck to Splatoon 2 as well, making music sampling vocals from Callie of the Squid Sisters. People say that Uran was especially obsessed with Callie, but who knows why, really. (TLDR; sheās a lesbian).Ā
After the performance of Spicy Calamari Inkantation, 3 of the 4 members slipped out of their trance, and their bodies couldnāt stop dancing! Itās like they had some sort of plague!!!!! :OĀ
In Splatoon 3, Takumi and Riho live in Splatsville, and Uran lives in Inkopolis Plaza. All of them are great friends, and have frequent hangout sessions. They still have the same passion for music, but they treat it as more of a hobby now.Ā
Octoplush
Octoplush is the solo act of Kai, the former last member of Turquoise October. Kai was the only member to not be snapped out of their daze by the second performance of Calamari Inkantation. They stayed loyal to Octavio, and in doing so, they got fuzzied in Splatoon 3. In fact, theyāre quite an odd one. They say that they donāt regret being fuzzied, and they arenāt being made to say that. Kai says that it just made them learn so much more about music, a ānever-endingā passion of theirs. With the end of humanity and lots of ruins and music being left, they studied all of the old music left behind by humanity. This extensive studying is what made them make one of their favorite songs, Underwater Neon. Underwater Neon is similar in sound to human 80ās music. Another thing to note, is that there are noises similar to the voice of Warabi in the song. These vocals were sampled from an old demo that Warabi had recorded for Turquoise October, but the song he recorded the demo for was never released, completed nor in demo form. This explains why some of the vocals sound choppily put together and in some parts, stretched.Ā
After Mr. Grizz was defeated, nobody knows about the whereabouts of Kai. Many, including their old bandmates, wish that theyāre just hiding somewhere in Alterna, where no one else can find.
