Was that really all Dieter was gonna say about the whole porn thing? Danny had just admitted to having porn himself. That was a bummer. Although he thought that maybe it was wise not to press on the subject and make someone he kind of works with get even more awkward around him. “Yeah. It’s always a good thing knowing what to expect. Don’t worry. I’ll be sure to save that stuff for you too.” He told him not as a way to tease him, but more as a way to assure him.
Danny noticed right away how hesitant Dieter was being about answering his question about his book. Now if the supernatural didn’t actually exist, he’d think nothing off it. However, as he listened to the reason given to him, he wasn’t sure he could believe it, despite how believable it sounded. “Huh. Yeah, I can agree that it’s a cool genre to get into. I don’t read as much of it lately as I’d like to though. What with how busy things I am sometimes.” He told him, trying his best to not give off the impression that he was suspicious, which he actually was to say the least.
Danny was about to pick up the laptop, but then thought better not to yet as he retracted his hands. “Oh! Do you have a laptop bag I can use to carry your laptop in?” He asked in the hopes of that being a yes. Otherwise he’s have to use his own bag when he would be returning the laptop to him.
Dieter let out a nervous chuckle. “You don't need to save that stuff, the porn. I don't need it. It's just...” This was so awkward. Even with Danny being nonchalant about it. Maybe that what made it awkward? He couldn't tell, but was the other disappointed that Dieter wasn't talking about it more? He couldn't tell and he wasn't sure he was ready to know.
“Yeah. It seems to capture people imaginations. The idea that stuff might be real and how it would work in the modern world. It interests me a lot these days. Then again I'm like you, too busy to really ready but I think if I manage my time right I could make outline something worthwhile.” the lie was rolling off his tongue easier now. “Maybe I'll take my vacation time and use it for writing. See how far I get. I could take a sabbatical and work on it full time.”
“Oh, yes. Yes, I do,” Dieter said. “Wait right there. I'll be right back.” He trotted off back to his bedroom to get his laptop bag. He brought it back setting it down on the coffee table. “It would help to have that. Make it easier to carry. Was there anything else I get that might help?” he asked unsure. “If you can't think of anything now that okay. You can let me know later if something comes up. If you need part of anything like that I can get those. You'll just have to let me know what to get and all that.”
