In 2009, I ventured off for a three-week stay in Ghana to naively look for some afro-beat records. The result was a year-long return trip filled with blood, sweat, cross-country bus rides, curses, sacrificial goats, dirt, mold, chief palaces, resentful foreign record collectors, mosquitos, malaria, banku & tilapia, beachside slums, and just about anything else you could image. Luckily, my good friend, Lion, was right by my side. NOTE: All of the records on this page are 100 percent original pressings - complete with every pop, click and skip - and come straight from our travels around West Africa.
