“Kaden and I were good friends, he was a great lombax, smart as they come. He was the first outsider to theorize that the Great Clock even existed.”

The elder couldn’t even bring himself to S M I L E . The guilt & shame flooded back at him so fast that his guard went up almost instantly. That didn’t meant he wasn’t HAPPY to see his old friend —— it just stirred even more questions that he wasn’t ready to discuss. However, things had to be known. ❝ Yes. It really is me . . . Kaden —— how did you survive? ❞
With this, a hand raises slightly as if he wanted to reach out & place it upon the lombax’s shoulder. He didn’t. There was also the whole STILL YOUNG thing that had him even more concerned, for it simply did not make any sense. Just as he had saw Kaden when he first found Ratchet ( or really, Ratchet found HIM ), he saw Ratchet in Kaden now.
Hearing the confirmation firmly cemented that more than 20 years have gone and this was reality. He and Alister were close in age in their youth, but now there is a wide age gap between them. Being kept in cryostasis prevented his body from physically aging. He couldn’t blame his friend for being hesitant when he saw him. He probably would have done the same if their roles were reversed. His son would be his age by now, one of the more important objectives on his list: finding his son.
“Tachyon decided to place me in cryostasis instead of killing me. Apparently he had other plans.” His voice was calm as he answered.

“Are you alright? You seem to have a crack on the side of your dome.” Kaden spoke with some concern as he stared up at the tall robot.
@starveincd found the Keeper
He was on all fours as he coughed and breathed his first breath of air when he was released from the cryostasis pod he was held in. Eyelids were closed before they opened to reveal green, seeing nothing but blurred imagery as his eyes were currently adjusting after being closed for so long.

// AUS with multiple endings are always the most interesting to me! ;v;
{Ending A: We could either have Kaden be convinced much earlier before he even attempts to pull the lever.
Ending B: After pulling the lever he fights Ratchet, then finally realizes his mistake which then he sacrifices his life. He stays dead.
Ending C: Plays out like Ending B, but like with how my canon divergent Alister survives, the same applies to Kaden. Bonus if Ratchet has been watching his body come back to life.}
// what about an AU verse where Alister and Kaden swapped roles to an extent? Could work for both blogs. Maybe not directly so, but the outcome has Kaden being the one exiled, and maybe finding Ratchet later on instead?

{Does this mean that Kaden ends up being bad later on where Ratchet is forced to fight his dad or is it going to be something different? If Kaden were in Alister’s place, he would have both his wife and his best friend dead and his son separated from him up until years later he finds him. Is the Great Clock still going to play a part in this? I wonder how Kaden ends up the one exiled? Alister was the one who decided to place his trust in Tachyon while Kaden was against it. This AU could be interesting.}

[ it’s just a spark – but it’s enough to keep me going ]
So, it turns out being a rebel with a cause is exactly like being a rebel without one, except that you have to get up early, and you can’t spend your lunch break hyperjumping to another galaxy where you have a coupon for free subs. I gotta admit, I didn’t think I was cut out for the Defense Force, and there are still days when I wake up and think, “Yeah, I was right, I suck at this.” But most days? Well, it’s always Crisis O’Clock somewhere in the Polaris Galaxy, right? Now I can target my skills where they’re needed the most, and I can watch out for the people that matter most to me.
…seriously though, being a space cop you’d think I could get a coupon for a free sub every now and then.

( they say to find your purpose —— you have to first understand yourself. thing is, i never quite knew where i belonged. heck, my name came from my own tongue when i understood so little. makes me wonder —— have i done everything i was meant to do? even if i am LOST in this universe, did i somehow fulfill my PURPOSE? one can only hope. )

~ Have your muse describe the worst emotional pain they have been in.
Upsetting and Twisted reaction asks for Sad Muses
“Losing my wife was the worst emotional pain I have been in. At first I did not want to believe it. Maybe she was knocked out and would wake up soon, but no. The evidence was there, her motionless body and lack of pulse to prove that she was dead.” His eyes were lifeless as he spoke, reliving the memories. “It hurt to leave her body behind as I cradled my crying son to my chest. Crying out for his mother who will never open her eyes again.”
Confessions of a mediocre RP blog...
1. I have favorites. I try not to - and I do truly give every new thread a chance. But favorites happen, because some people write in a way that just thrills me in particular. I will try not to focus too much on my favorites, knowing that each new person I roleplay with just may turn out to be a favorite as well.
2. Some days I struggle to write replies. When I do, when I skip over your thread to reply to another, it’s not something you have done wrong. My muse is not responding to yours at the moment, possibly for reasons neither of us have any control over.
3. There is no correlation between a lengthy reply and a good one. If you can only type out two paragraphs and I’ve written five, you didn’t fail, and vice versa. Writing flows best when you free yourself from the expectations of verbiage, structure, number of words on the page.
4. I do this for fun. If I’m not having fun with our thread, I have a responsibility to tell you so, to try and fix it so that it’s fun for us both. Conversely, you have a responsibility to do the same. We both have the responsibility of ending things on a pleasant basis if our muses are incompatible.
5. There are days when I doubt my writing. I think we all have these days. Days when every sentence comes out awkwardly and half-thought, when nothing seems to flow. Please, don’t be afraid to ask me to change a reply if I’ve sidelined the plot with my meandering muse logic.
6. You will never upset me by talking to me out of character. I’m fully cognizant that behind each muse is a real person, and I would love to get to know that person.
7. I have a ‘style’, a set way that I best enjoy writing. If you’re a brilliant muse and I enjoy your writing, I may stalk you relentlessly without ever replying to a starter you’ve done just because our styles do not match. This doesn’t mean that either of us is less of a roleplayer because of it - we’re just different.
8. I will not belittle your character ooc. Each muse is unique, each muse is a precious creation of a creative mind, an entity of its own. I promise to respect that, and only critique when asked and then only for the purposes of helping your writing. I will never send you anon hate.
9. I want you to plot with me. I want our muses to have a story so complex, so incredible, that everyone reads along. I don’t want either of us to know how it will end before it begins. I want to sit on the edge of my seat, waiting for your reply, just to shake my head in awe of the brilliant turn or twist you’ve come up with.
10. Mun to mun - you are beautiful to me. When you’re having a bad day, come to my inbox. When you’re doubting yourself, tell me about it and I will remind you how amazing you are. When I’ve angered or disappointed you in character or out, tell me about it. First and foremost, we are writers, and I consider us friends if we write together. You’re not imposing on me - you’re allowing me to help.
@magebax found the Keeper
Deep within one of Tachyon’s facilities that had been abandoned after the cragmite was defeated and banished to another dimension, there was a stasis chamber that held one being inside one of the pods.
@scourgeofpolaris found the Keeper
“Great. Space pirates. And they had to be robot space pirates at that.” After finally being released from his 20+ years in stasis, it was his luck to encounter them in his search for his son.

“Tachyon put you into a stasis pod? That surprises me to hear, he hated our kind with a passion.” The elder spoke at first, furrowing a brow.
But it raised again upon being questioned about his own situation. “I am here thanks to an accident. But it is a long story and we are left vulnerable to the nanophytes being out in the open like this.” Plus he was partly sure Kaden wouldn’t believe it. “Still it’s incredible, seeing you here, alive! I never thought I’d see anybody from the past again.”
“He probably had plans that involved me. Whatever he was planning, I’m glad he didn’t get a chance to act on them.” That was another thing on his mind. If Tachyon had captured him rather than kill him, he could only imagine that any possible plans the cragmite might of had would not have been good either way.
Kaden nodded when he heard about the nanophytes after listening to the elder, but did offer a small smile. “Same here. We should probably head somewhere else to continue our conversation.”
