I haven't drawn mk art for over 2 years, yet tumblr's algorithm is still heavily tying this profile to that game. Ive been following you for about a year now. I really like your characters but i havent been able to find their backstories or any information. Do you have a toyhouse or something?

No, i don't. But that question inspired me to write a short post about my characters and story

Lore

My story takes place in China (mid 80s), it's based on Chinese mythology (to be more specific, on myth about Hou Yi shooting 9 suns) and gods are real in this universe. Due to political views and the gods' destructive actions, people have turned their backs on them, creating a conflict where gods need belief in them for powers, and humans need their abilities for natural phenomena, yet neither side yields. The story is about two god brothers who lost the heavens, but found a way to survive on earth...

Domino

He is the second moon (the moon god). He was Emperor's astronomer and a predictor of fates, now he's pretending to be human. To keep his powers, he writes and performs songs to capture people's attention, while secretly collaborating with officials foretelling their futures to ensure that they wouldn't be hunted down and killed by government. He loves attention and the thrill. He is very intelligent and cunning, very few people know his true self

Yiren

He used to be the sun, but because of the loss of his brothers, he lost the ability to fly to the sky. He wanders around the world, killing monsters that crawl out of deep cracks in the earth (which arose when he and his brothers flew to the sky and the earth began to dry out). He lives with Domino because he doesn't have a home of his own. He's quite and stubborn, melancholic and straightforward

Yun

He is the youngest brother and has no magical powers (also the moon god, fifth moon). He transforms into a dragon to bring rain to the earth.He is very naive, yet positive and loyal, loves to fool around and draw caricatures of people. He's really fast thanks to his ability, so the family often uses him as a messenger.

These aren't all my characters, there are many more, but that's all for now (unless someone is brave enough to ask more questions or wants to know about the other characters muahahah)

I drew this in May. I didn't like it back then, but my opinion has changed.

Domino was an astronomer. He not only looked at the stars but also predicted the fate of the empire. These days, nobody needs his work and he's angry at people for "stealing his job."
