Skeng - Simple Dutt (2022)
This version’s a lot bassier/dutt-ier than the one on Spotify. Thanks to my good friend @ray_cappucino for alerting me to this one.

Zias! react to ‘Let’s Lurk’ by 67
These guys post reaction videos to rap videos. They’ve done some UK rap videos, and are much more open to it than many yanks. It’s weird how watching other people vibe to music is so powerful - I mean, I already liked this tune before watching them liking it, but them liking it so much made me listen to it more closely and realise ‘yeah: it IS fucking great’.
T-Mula & Stampface - Mostman (2015)
Earl Sweatshirt feat. Tyler the Creator - Couch (2010)
This guy sits in his car and drives around listening to albums for the first time, and posts his reactions on Youtube. He’s apparently a hip-hop head who has been trying out metal/rap-rock albums lately. His enthusiasm is presumably somewhat exaggerated for the cameras but is nevertheless infectious and in some respects comes closer to relevant music ‘criticism’ than the most verbose and in-depth ‘video essays’.
I always disliked Rage Against the Machine due to Zach De La Rocha’s squawky voice (what is it with white rappers and squawky voices?), but this video has achieved the miracle of making me want to listen to their first album ASAP, cos I have to admit the riffs sound fantastic. I don’t think a 10 minute Anthony Fantano review would achieve that.
Mischa Maisky plays Bach Cello Suite No. 1 in G (in full)
Suite as, mate.
Ricardo Villalobos - Logohitz (1998)
SPOILER ALERT: About 4mins30 into this these strings come in out of nowhere and I don’t know if it’s just the Youtube compression or something but they are too loud and sound jarring and intrusive and this has the effect of making me feel like I’m tripping even though I’ve just drunk some peppermint tea. Villalobos makes music that fucks with your senses, not least your sense of time and perspective.
Alley Boy - Lift the Load (2011)
Still a classic, esp. the hook.
