Why was the fanfic deleted? was it because too many bad klance fans ruined it for the author? =( its happening everywhere a friend of mine deleted her Klance fanart because a friend was bullied for liking sheith by a few klance fans on twitter
i wasn’t really there for when the fic was deleted, so i can’t say for sure
but as i understand it from what i saw, a big part of it was probably the toxicity coming from a lot of prominent people in the klance fandom. the harassment and the death threats of the cast/crew, and fellow fanbase doesn’t really make the klance fandom a fun place to be in, even if you ship the pairing
that said, i remember when the fic first came out, the author was on the receiving end of a constant wave of harassment from klance shippers who were supposedly fans of the fic. it was kind of ridiculous. so they had understandably abandoned the fic for a little while and posted a chapter in the fic explaining it. later, im pretty sure they said that the fic had really meant a lot to them personally, so it had been important to them to finish it, and uploaded the rest of the fic at once. (unfortunately since the fic has been deleted, i cant really find the chapter where they explained how they felt)
(edit: i found the post on their account where they explained why they stopped regular updates to post the fic all at once. also please do not message them about the fic, since it is over and done with. i don’t want to add to this discomfort for them, its just to be informative about what happened)
but since then, i suppose the klance side of the fandom has (unfortunately) gotten even more toxic and aggressive and they felt the need to remove the fic altogether and move on. which really sucks, because it started out as a fun, fairly lighthearted, and personal expression of love for a ship they enjoyed
