what baffles me about the mindset of some of y’all is that you’re making all insults equivalent with slurs

a slur is a violent word with years (I would even say decades) of violent history behind that word

an insult is just that. an insult. it hurts for a bit, but that’s it

I think it’s appropriate to say all slurs can be used as insults, but definitely not all insults are slurs

if y’all are willing to blacklist and censor insults, but not slurs (I’m looking at you, “it’s my identity” people), then that’s just plain ignorant

please think about how this post was originally about how there are huge problems with relative privilege and perpetuating systematic oppression in the lgbt community for being perpetrators of racism and transmysogny, both of which get people killed, and then come back here and tell me how it was in anyway appropriate to tack this onto my post. this isn’t even a discourse thing. this is a realizing that there are bigger more threatening things in the community than you being concerned about someone online saying you shouldn’t go to pride.
