Disabled culture is feeling uncomfortable in certain general pet or pet breeder groups because you feel like the way they treat a disabled animal, especially mentally disabled animals, reflects how they might treat disabled people in general.

(sorry for two asks in a row, I just discovered this blog!)
Disabled culture is when it isn’t as bad feeling like you’re dramatic and just faking it and feeling so mentally stressed about it
And when it comes back and just makes life hard, you feel a little relief because you truly weren’t faking it, you do actually feel this way, you weren’t lying

Disabled culture is having Orthostatic Hypotension (low blood pressure, getting up / staying up is hard) and just yesterday realizing I don’t have to be standing up to do almost anything!!!
Like usually one would stand when they’re preparing breakfast at the kitchen counters but! I wasn’t feeling well so I brought a stool over to sit on while making breakfast
and having the epiphany that life is so much easier when I’m sitting down, and like I can always do that, whenever I need ? Like wow!!
Hope everyone else finds ways to make life easier, because I know how hard it can be, luv u guys!!!

disabled culture is doubting if you're 'disabled enough' because 'oh if i got surgery to relieve my pain then i wouldn't have to use a cane'
like... i think needing surgery for the pain to stop is very disabled of me.
-+-
Disabled culture is previously wishing you had a disability/were disabled because "then I'd have a reason for why I'm struggling so much and feel so miserable all the time." and then it finally hits you.
-+-
Disabled culture is relating to the "In The Navy" trend going around on Instagram bc you've had to deal with military recruiters since middle school
And like
What AM I gonna do in a submarine? I can't even walk without pain most days; what makes them think I can go fight in a war?
-+-
Disabled culture is dating someone who's also disabled but still feeling like you're making their life more difficult because your disability causes you to need a lot of bed rest :(
-+-
disabled culture [at least for me] is being jealous of your friends who are less disabled than you when they talk about all of the things they do during the day
-+-
chronic migraine culture is hating summer because it means heat migraines
-+-
Disabled culture is wondering if a wheelchair or rollator might make it easier to get around and keep you from being stuck in bed all day but you live in a house full of stairs -_-
-+-
Disabled culture is not getting a diagnosis for years because it's 1. Too expensive, and 2. Whenever you try, all the doctors are shit and the ones that aren't keep redirecting you to more expensive places for endless testing under the promise of a diagnosis that they're never going to fucking give you
-+-
Disabled culture is not trusting anyone with your fragile body because people have accidentally hurt you so many times
-+-
Disabled culture is going to a doctor where they tell you "oh you probably have x, I'm not gonna give you a diagnosis or put it on record tho, or even tell you what that condition entails and how to ease it"
-+-
Disabled culture is going to a doctor and getting prescribed anxiety medication for intense chronic pain
-+-
Disabled culture is when your physical education teacher tells you it only hurts because you're out of shape when you've been jogging for only ten minutes and refusing to acknowledge that it hurts it hurts it hurts because I'm disabled it hurts everything hurts i cant breathe like this
-+-
Disabled culture is holding back on getting a shower chair purely out of pride because I don't want to admit that I need one to my parents
-+-
Disabled culture is being so so frustrated that you can't function just because your body is built wrong. I want a refund on this flesh prison
