Disabled Gaming Options

Non-binary disabled gamer trying to help others with gaming options. My goal here is to share if a game has acsessibilty options and if they make much difference to gameplay.

About me:

I'll go by Wolf here, I'm in my 20's and I'm disabled. Also autistic and non binary but those dont really effect my gaming life.

I have many conditions but not all of them affect gaming, but I hope to cover things that don't effect just me.

I'll post as I play games, so it will probably be fairly slow to update but slow is better than nothing. (And when I remember)

Personally I have Fibromyalgia and H-EDS which make gaming painful at times, really bad vision with light sensitivity and chronic migraines and pain in general. I have more conditions but these are the ones I'm comfortable mentioning.

I know these aren't the most severe conditions that could effect gamers, but I still care for the disabled community as a whole and think not enough people share games options that could help.

So that's where this blog comes in. I think it would be nice for people to have a quick image or text post to see at a glance if a game they want to play will be assessable to them.

So with the games I play, even if I don't love or finish them, Ill take a screenshot of their accessibility options and post them here.

For colour-blind settings I'll get a screenshot of the changes those make too. My partner has red/green colour-blindness so I also can ask him if he thinks its a good change for him for a little insight from someone who actually has colour-blindness.

Any questions on a game I've posted (to do with options or not) I'll be open to responding to. This is my first time trying something like this and I hope I can help at least some people.

Slime Rancher 2

This game is still in development, things on this post could change later on in development

Sprint can be toggled on or held. Controls can be configured.

Hostile slimes can be turned off so that the only way of loss of items in the game is falling into the slime sea.

A lock on for the vac pack can be enabled or disabled in settings.

Camera bob can be turned off.

There is no need for subtitles as there is no audio dialogue in the game.

Otherwise these are the only settings I can think could be applied to accessibility here. The game is still developing and is overall without a time limit. There are no colour-blind settings unfortunately. The game is fairly bright and the UI is white toned.

The game gets an update in September, if any settings change I shall reblog again.

They are adding the drones which does take some strain and stress off the gameplay if they're like the first game. Which while not a setting will still be a nice thing for accessibility.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Above are the options available in game. To me the small subtitle size is perfect in cutscenes but could do with being a little bigger in gameplay. Controls were configurable too.

The above 3 images are the filters applied for The colour-blind settings. My partner said they were pretty much useless to him in game. I will say there is a white screen fade in and out when certain cutscenes are about to happen as I guess a load screen. I keep calling it a flashbang but I will clarify its not a fast flash its very slow but very bright to me, occasionally gave me a twinge of headache.
