the thing is like. I love Anita Fite. but it's also hard reading YJ and Not noticing how the teenage Black girl, incidentally the only kid on the team who isn't white, is also the only one who repeatedly ends up nude and suggestively positioned. especially since it's so often linked to her Vodoun practice, it's so exoticizing and yucky and leaves a really uncomfortable sheen on a really lovable character :/

when you’re first getting into comics and you learn about the new 52 you go ??? why did they do that how could they have thought that was a good idea? then as you continue to get into comics and you learn more you go ohhhhh they did that because they are stupid and can’t make any good choices ever. and they want to punish the audience

just Hal needing backup, making a green flip phone, dialing a number and Guy’s ring automatically manifests a 1980s brick mobile phone and when he picks up it patches him through to Hal

bonus detail: when Hal makes a phone construct, its number pad is just a massive button with the name of the closest available Lantern. 50% of the time it's Guy and Hal just sighs before he presses the button anyway

im sick of my icon circuit breaker not appearing in more comics outside of pride, and also even tho hes met other speedsters, i think him and impulse would have a really fun dynamic because of the still/speed dichotomy ✋ tortoise and hare type energy

Sometimes a comic shop will sell certain comic issues for cheap instead of jacking up the price, and I’m happy but also a little surprised. like oh is that not a super valuable famous comic to you? It is to me.

Wild to me that some people take Bruce's general lack of expressiveness as indicative of him genuinely being less emotional and not invested in people, as if half his problems aren't caused by having an extremely overactive sense of empathy and feeling things way too deeply

Relatedly it's wild to me that some people take Bruce's stubbornness about his own ethical code as him believing that he's an infallible and good person, as if his whole persona as a superhero isn't constructed around his belief that he's somehow intrinsically terrible and monstrous.

"average hero has a decent-sized civilian cast" idea actually just a statistical error. average hero maybe has a couple of civilians. civilian cast tim drake, who gets a new dozen-person civilian cast every time he slightly changes location, is an outlier and should not have been counted
