“Down with Demacia!”
|| " With an aspect on our side, who can stop us?! "
<I’ve eaten plenty of Demacian food, but none of it made me grow very tall…>
@dischainxd: “ Same. "
<You are literally one of the tallest men I’ve ever seen. When you bother to stand up straight.>
" Oh-- my apologies I misheard, I've had no Demacian food for fifteen years and am still just as tall. "
the approach left him parched... it could have been a number of things, his newly acquired iceborn resistance, his already being use to the colder weather of Demacia and Freljord... he had already rallied troops from the icescape lands of the north, now for the second half of his ideal plan to take Demacia for the better of all people, mage or not.
the guards see the man approaching first, yelling something about Xerath, some language Sylas had yet to understand, but it didn't matter. he knew a universal tongue, that being of action, shackled arms raised with palms held open, surrendering himself and beridding if but any ill-will a stranget might have when approaching a foreign place.

Given Sylas gave thought to betrayal, or at the least rejection of his offer… neither happened just yet, of course he had one oversight. The ‘HOW’ of which he woule free such power was still just beyond his grasp, but he had a tool not yet used before in such a way to release the prison this ascended being now lived within.
“ Forgive me, for I am taking your word for it, but should I release you and– the aspects only know– you decide it is not worth your time, ” his larger hands clasped together, thumbs pressed to one another as he took a more diplomatic stance, “ I am just not an easy person to trust, nor do I have any trust in heresay myself. ”
“You tread dangerous ground, Demacian.” Xerath hovered closer, close enough that one could FEEL the raw magic emanating from his being. “You would ask ME for proof of my sincerity, when you have yet to offer proof of your own." Certainly, Sylas’s affinity for magic was stronger than average, but with his own bindings in place, Xerath still had doubts that the man could truly release him.
"This is the offer I shall make to you: demonstrate to me the nature of your spellcraft, and if I am convinced by what I see, then I will grant you proof of my word.” Xerath’s tone seemed to imply that there would be no negotiating these terms. Granted, he did agree with the man’s philosophy that trust wasn’t to be handed out readily, but perhaps Sylas should have considered that before coming to ask a favor of a god.
The terms were fair, more so because Sylas knew he could very well impress to meet them, now it was just a matter of deciding what he could do... a moment of thinking and the worst idea became his best.
He made an approving facial expression, pouted bottom jaw and slowly raising his hand, the golden chain dangling from his binding... it was just close enough, even without touching the ascended his power was like a fountain, always giving to the surrounding area... it was enough for him, without overloading.
Given this magic was unlike anything Sylas had been able to grasp, he'd now raise his hand high above his head, arcane magic alike Xerath's forming in his palm, outstretched to his fingertips before throwing the orb far left, away from people and towards a stone wall, which naturally was destroyed. Nothing portrays power like a slight amount of unruly destruction.
the approach left him parched... it could have been a number of things, his newly acquired iceborn resistance, his already being use to the colder weather of Demacia and Freljord... he had already rallied troops from the icescape lands of the north, now for the second half of his ideal plan to take Demacia for the better of all people, mage or not.

“ Simple matters, for one so powerful in a shackled state, I presume you could level castles– if not kingdoms with that kind of power, ” more intuitious than most, he would scratch his chin scruff idly, awaiting an answer he didn’t even need to hear, so he continued anyways.
“ Strike that, I know you could, the question is wasted time to ask such a being as yourself. All I ask for releasing you for your prison it for you to destroy High Silvermere, annihilate it to rubble… but leave Demacia free to those with magic birthed into their blood, so they can live like those who oppressed them for years, ” it was much to ask, but the price was not for him to debate… simply if it was worth the prize to the ascended.
Xerath almost laughed. Destroying a kingdom? This man clearly had no idea who he was talking to. At least he understood well-enough that it was indeed within the Ascendant’s power to do this... And it soon became clear enough what what the Demacian sought: revolution.
“I have heard tales of the land you call Demacia. I have heard it is a place where magic is feared, even hated... The mere premise that such a land could exist seems laughable, and yet, that is what the world has been reduced to in my absence.” The Magus turned, and stared at the mural on the temple’s wall, depicting an image of the sun crashing down upon a city.
“Mortals are foolish beings, discriminating one-another for the pettiest reasons. Age, race, gender, even something as trivial as where you are born is an excuse to enslave others. I intend to create a world without such prejudices; where all are equal under one god.” He turned again, staring at the foreigner. “Release me, and I shall grant your wish...”

Silently stares at the Wraith. There's clearly some fear and concern in her violet hues as she slowly pets the white, tiny bunny in her arms. She has heard something about these entities before, and... Were they dangerous as other deities usually described them? [Lunar Wraith Sylas] // We should plot something for these two plz Ty aaaaa
Raising his head feeling divine presence nearby, he was just amidst the plotting over overthrowing those pesky gods and goddesses that bound him down to these filth drawn lands, lips pursed a thin line decoding to take a most calmer approach to this one... for now.
" What do you want? "

Where to begin… he needed to choose his words carefully, he had been thinking about them during the short walk through the streets just before the people scattered at his very voice. Sylas stood upright, no hunch like he normally had, gained from being leaned over in that cell for years.
He saw his opening, a speaker of sorts was his strongest power, even above his magic, “ you’re shackled, are you not? ” he began, raising the petricite weapon around his arm, the golden chain hanging from them. “ I was a prisoner once, placed in a cell for fifteen years simply because there was magic in me. Not only do you unerstand this, but you are still a prisoner, aren’t you? ”
All of this was just clever guessing, atop the first glance as the armor surrounding just powerful energy… he looked bound to him. The books he had from his many years of reading down in that cell were another factor, while none specifically were about the name Xerath, some were most definitely about Shuriman history, or what Demacian’s knew of.
Now for the main course.
“ I could free you, just as I was freed myself. I can make that impossibility a probable one, for you. ”
Xerath remained silent, listening on as the mortal spoke. Certainly, he rode the line between bravery and foolishness, but his words had the Ascendant’s attention. While fifteen years seemed a laughably short time to one who had spent centuries in the darkness of the Tomb of the Emperors, it was nonetheless intriguing; to be imprisoned simply because others feared your power was certainly something Xerath knew well...
When Sylas finished, there was silence. Xerath’s thoughts were unreadable, the helm that substituted his face utterly blank. After several seconds, the Magus reached up, and clutched the seal around his chest. The sarcophagus had been made by the Sunborn to contain a living inferno that plagued the desert long ago, and no shackled him just as the Demacian said. Xerath had released the seal binding the flame spirit as a distraction on the day of his Ascension, yet doing so from the inside was no simple it feat... Nay, it was impossible. As it was, not even Xerath’s most promising acolytes had proven capable of releasing him.
“A bold claim, but you have my interest, mortal. The question remains, however: providing you CAN release me, what is it that you would seek in return?”
" Simple matters, for one so powerful in a shackled state, I presume you could level castles-- if not kingdoms with that kind of power, " more intuitious than most, he would scratch his chin scruff idly, awaiting an answer he didn't even need to hear, so he continued anyways.

Through a friend of a friend of an acquaintance, Sona had passed along a big basket of goods. There was no card or house symbol on the basket, but it was pretty obvious who it was from all the same. People just can't keep secrets anymore. They weren't substantial foods inside. More meant to be comfort additions; jams, spices, honey, dried fruit pieces, a few candies, some medicine. A care package for the people caught in the middle.
It was quite the heart warming gift all the same, even if it wasn't designated for him nor had he kept anything the basket had to offer, it was immediately shared amongst the expecting and already mother's with children among the broken and exiled... he knew very well who had sent such a gift, being only one of few people capable of doing so in secret, as well as her lingering magics being on the basket.
Sylas spoke soft thanks... perhaps he'd need to return thr kindness with another visit, perhaps... but perhaps not just yet.
the approach left him parched... it could have been a number of things, his newly acquired iceborn resistance, his already being use to the colder weather of Demacia and Freljord... he had already rallied troops from the icescape lands of the north, now for the second half of his ideal plan to take Demacia for the better of all people, mage or not.

“ A bargain would mean I have something you want, and I very well in fact do, ” Sylas spoke up, his throat clear and tone unwavering to this ascended being of pure energy. Through his eyes the glow of pure arcane magic was overwhelming, the markings under his skin hummed even at the crackling of the air around them both.
Under most circumstances, Xerath wouldn’t even acknowledge a man such as this, let alone humor him. And yet, this Demacian... He possessed an abnormally high concentration of mana, and remained confident even before a being that was so clearly his superior. Most lost their nerve to speak upon meeting Xerath for the first time, especially foreigners, yet this one was an exception.
“Come with me. I will humor you for now, Demacian, but know this: if your offer is a waste of my time, you will regret it.” With that, the Ascendant turned, and began leading Sylas through the streets of Nerimazeth. Many onlookers stopped and stared, first at the Magus, then at the man following him. After a time, Xerath would bring the stranger to what seemed to what seemed to be some manner of temple. He spoke a single word in Shuriman, and everyone quickly fled, leaving the two mages alone.
Xerath turned again to face Sylas. “Now then... What, pray-tell, do you believe you can offer me?”
Where to begin... he needed to choose his words carefully, he had been thinking about them during the short walk through the streets just before the people scattered at his very voice. Sylas stood upright, no hunch like he normally had, gained from being leaned over in that cell for years.

“ To make a deal, ” the man clearly spoke, tone of the utmost seriousness, hands balled into fists to shape balls along the point of his shackles. “ My name is Sylas of Dregbourne, I’m Demacian, and I come with something one of a kind, something unique that even a god would wish to be let in on it’s existence. ”
He’d leave the prisoner bit out, all past information and circumstances were kept to himself, if this Lord Xerath wished to know everything, then it would be for his ears only.
The guard seemed skeptical, but before she could even say anything, a new voice suddenly cut her off; one she recognized all-too-well. “Is that so?” She turned in surprise to a being of pure arcane power, bound in an ancient, fragmented sarcophagus hovering closer.
“Lord Xerath!” The guard bowed, but the Ascendant paid her no mind. Instead, his gaze was focused on the man who called himself Sylas, taking note of the man’s arcane presence, and the unusual nature of his bondage.
“You come to bargain with me, Demacian? How amusing...”

The sweat drenched man raised his head, removing the thinner hooded garment from his longer hair which reveals exhaustedly hot expressions of pores and untamed facial hair, “ how kind, but I was a prisoner, not a slave, ” he fixes the guards initial thoughts, chains jingling ever so slightly as he shifts to stretch out his back.
“ I seek the man, woman, or godlike complex in charge, I’ve purposefully walked a long ways to get here, for good purpose I assure you, ” hands arise to show no weapons on his person, not that he ever needed one, but to at least give the guard comfort despite his demanding tone.
The man was clearly a foreigner; his accent and his skin tone made that abundantly apparent. What’s more, he claims to have been a prisoner, not just a slave. “A prisoner? From where?” The chains DID seem overly-elaborate for a sand walker, and strangely ornate.
Then, he made a rather sudden and unexpected request. “Do you mean to say that you escaped prison to seek Lord Xerath? You have some audacity to demand such a thing. For what purpose do you seek the Ascendant?”

Few dared to venture to Nerimazeth, the city that had become the center of Xerath’s reign. The guards were, at first, perplexed by the figure before them, but the fact that he wore so little and that he adorned some manner of chains led them to quickly deduce that he was Saih'kharash, a sand walker. Such slaves were often used as live bait for the predators of the desert, most notably the Xer’Sai that stalked the sands. This one must have escaped and come here seeking haven.
The guards talked briefly to one-another, and after a moment, stepped aside to grant the man entry into the city. Once inside, he was greeted by a third guard, who seemed to speak in the common tongue. “Ah, another slave comes to Nerimazeth. Hmm...” She looked him over briefly. “Well, fear not; you are a slave no longer. In Nerimazeth, all are equal under Lord Xerath. Do you have a name?”
The sweat drenched man raised his head, removing the thinner hooded garment from his longer hair which reveals exhaustedly hot expressions of pores and untamed facial hair, " how kind, but I was a prisoner, not a slave, " he fixes the guards initial thoughts, chains jingling ever so slightly as he shifts to stretch out his back.
