Theme: Mimicking movement.
Phototaxis Apparatus
– the locomotory movement, that occurs when a whole organism moves towards or away from stimulus of light.
The one thing, I think, the museum lacks is movement. Movement is difficult. For example: it is a difficult thing to display animals, creatures that by their very nature are moving things, without caging them in, of course. Stones and bones are by their nature, very still things, luckily to the benefit of science. Plants are somewhere in between, moving slowly outside the human interim perception, but within the empirical line of vision.
Movement is difficult to mimic, but what if we pay attention to a movement principle, more than the movement itself?
This is a new model for trying to explain phototaxis – the locomotory movement, that occurs when a whole organism moves towards or away from stimulus of light.
