CAMP DIAMOND LAGOON is a summer camp unique in two aspects: one, it is only for adults, and two, it's built around murder.
A pristine getaway tucked into the forests of Maine, this long-closed summer camp has been rebranded and reopened by its new owner. A place for adults to come and forget the stress of their lives, Camp Diamond Lagoon boasts only the best of summer sleepaway camp memories, complete with lake activities, archery, cabin teams, and bonfires -- but with a twist.
Capitalizing on the long-standing and deep cultural interest in slasher and horror films, Camp Diamond Lagoon plays on all of the best-known tv, film, and horror story stereotypes to bring a chilling twist to a fun summer time. Complete with mysteries to solve and 100% safe games spent running from masked killers in the woods (don't forget to sign the waiver!), you're in for a summer you'll never forget.
Sure, there are old legends about previous murders, but that was long before Camp Diamond's time. And absolutely, people tend to leave suddenly and without explanation, but sometimes real life simply calls. Any references to historical events, real people, or real locales are used fictitiously. Other names, characters, places, and incidents are the product of the camp staff's imagination, and any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. There is no real danger or death at Camp Diamond Lagoon, but if you want the time of your life and a couple of thrills -- whether you just like the fun or you're a horror buff, get ready for an experience you'll remember for the rest of your life!

Muse Name & Pronouns: Giselle Prince, she/her Muse Age: 27 Role: Staffer / Activity organizer (art) Stereotype: The Virgin Brief Biography: Giselle may as well have grown up in a fairytale. She had two parents who loved each other and communicated so well. In her household, mental health was important, arguments were talked out respectfully, and nothing came above family. She was a happy kid who grew into a happy, if naive, adult. Throughout her childhood, Saturday nights were family night, which meant popcorn and a scary movie. Now, she is obsessed with horror films, and always thinks of her family when she watches them. Giselle is daring when it comes to getting scared and getting what she wants. She is an optimistic, over excited, over achieving sweetheart-- but is also one who has never been kissed. There were always more important things to do (like a masters in story telling and film) than date around, and she was content with that.. She has the time now, though, and is hoping that the camp will provide both an excellent experience and some companionship.

Muse Name & Pronouns: Karin Patel, he/them (usually prefers he) Muse Age: 33 Role: camper Stereotype: The Jock Biography: Karin had an absolutely normal, lower-middle class life. He grew up in a mixed household, had loving parents and two siblings. He worked hard in school, but was never particularly good in the classroom. Right when he was getting ready to head to college, a local woodworker asked him to be his apprentice, and Karin, who loved working with his hands despite his large body and intimidating features, readily agreed. He stayed close to home and made wooden furniture and figurines. There he met his wife, Daria, a humanitarian who was studying international relations. The two fell in love and got married.
Unfortunately, Karin has a problem. When he was young, he went hunting with a family friend and accidentally shot, with a crossbow, another hunter. The hunter survived, with a permanent limp, but Karin was scarred for life. He dealt with a great deal of agoraphobia, fear of blood, and fear of violence. He went to therapy and, with the support of his family and wife, is now doing much better. Daria just accepted a three month position overseas distributing medication, so, at the suggestion of his therapist, Karin decided to take his therapy to the next level and attend a murder camp. He is terrified, but hopes it will help. Mostly he hopes no one finds out just how scared he is.

Muse Name & Pronouns: Rhea Simmons, she/her Muse Age: 24 Role: Camper Stereotype: The Loner Biography: Rhea became deathly ill when she was very young. The stress of the situation led to her father abandoning her and her distraught mother, Andy. Andy's sister, Liz, ended up moving with them to the country side to take care of Rhea and help ease Andy's burden. Liz was a huge believer in the power of a good story, so raised Rhea on tales of fae, magic, dragons, and spells that could save her life and make mommy stop crying. Eventually, and as was determined to be a miracle, Rhea recovered. The next few years were good--until both her mother and aunt died in a car accident. Rhea was sent to live with her estranged father, who she disliked for obvious reasons and left as soon as she hit 18. Now that Rhea is older, she is hoping to find some peace from the terrible death of her mother and aunt, and equates the wonderful stories she was told with scary situations. She hopes the camp, and the fake scares it offers, will revive some of that magic for her.

Muse name & pronouns: Zach Harper, he/him Muse age: 22 Role: Music Instructor Stereotype: The Invisible Brief Biography: Zachary Harper is known for one thing, being able to bring out the music in just about anyone. He’s 23, he’s soft spoken, but he’s brilliant with any musical instrument he picks up. Even if he’s got a slightly useless hand. Once upon a time, he was a someone. Now, since the injury, he fades off to the background. Sad at the state of his life, but happy he’s able to help other people discover the joy in the sound.
When Zach was younger, it was all he ever dreamed about, playing music in front of live audiences, making sure that a rhythm could bring someone to tears. He would’ve made it all the way to the philharmonic if given the chance. The New York born and bred bronx boy able to hear the music in everything and anything. Until one accident left him running into the hospital screaming. Zach lost almost all feeling in his hand that day, his own music having been flawless now tainted with slight imperfections. It was all he had, and so when he lost it, he lost everything. His friends, he backed away from, afraid to become envious and jealous. His family distanced themselves, watching him become a shadow. He went to college, of course, played through the motions but… he just wasn’t the same. If you asked his classmates who he was, no one had a clue. He simply dissolved into background noise. Nowadays, though, with a degree in musical education, Zach spends his time teaching people how the music is the most important part of any good horror movie. He teaches them the pitches, the tones…. the ominous notes to look out for.

Muse name & pronouns: Jared Calhoun. He his him. Muse age: 25 Role: Camp Counselor Stereotype: The Jaded Brief Biography: Jared Calhoun always wanted to make his family, his friends, his whole damn country proud. The former 753rd EOD Battalion Sergeant knew when he turned 18 he would appear on the doorstep of the National Guard and swear his service for life. If only he knew that all his dreams would wind up in blazes of glory that he never saw coming.
Jared can’t tell you much about that day. But what he can tell you is that he remembers feeling like a saw had cut through his leg after flying through the air. Simple enough, it was supposed to be a minor job, disconnecting some wires when they were flanked, and lit up. Not only did Jared lose some of his closest friends that day, he lost his right leg below the knee. Jared could’ve dealt with a lot of things coming home. The pain, the work. The therapy, all of it. After two tours by age 23, he was lucky to be alive. Lucky. If that’s what you call it. What Jared couldn’t handle though? The pity. Overwhelming, nauseating. “What a sacrifice you’ve made.” As if some hadn’t given so much more. It was enough to make him spit. But here he was, living. While others got that 21 gun salute he wished for on a regular basis. Nowadays, though, Jared is just the grouch ass, yelling at people not to act stupid at a camp literally made for the most ridiculous of people. Still, he added to the allure of it all didn’t he? The haggard, despondent, angry, jaded veteran. If Jared wasn’t a walking poster child for a michael meyers type walking…. who the hell was?

Muse name & Pronouns: Benjamin Hanscom, he/him Muse age: 35 Role: Camper Stereotype: Properly Paranoid Brief Biography: Ben Hanscom, aged 35, is about to climb his way up to the top of the world of architecture. He spent his childhood building contraptions in his backyard, his mother saved up all she could to have her son pursue his dreams in college and later on, university. In the winter of the same year as the summer camp takes place, Ben had reached a new chapter in his life as he could now call himself a CEO, with his name on a tall building in Manhattan, New York. At age 34, that winter, he felt like life could truly begin. About six months later, he was gifted an invite to the summer camp by his associates for his birthday. They figured he could use some time off from the office, as Ben basically spent all of his days cooped in there, mostly to forget about how lonely he is in his private life….

Muse Name & Pronouns: Izzy Rosenthal, she/her Muse Age: 22 Role: Staff Stereotype: The Comedic Relief Brief Biography: Izzy Rosenthal is what you would call a menace. She was forced to grow up quickly, her father having died when she was 5 years old, and finding herself on the streets with her adoptive brother. As if that wasn’t enough, she struggles with asthma and epilepsy but you’d never know it. Izzy is quick, agile, and nimble. She learnt to scavenge, and beg. She can make a fire quicker than anyone. Muse Name & Pronouns: Jack Murray, he/him/his Muse Age: 32 Role: Staff, Kitchen Help/Handyman Stereotype: The Wounded Bird Brief Biography: Jack is a Scottish lad who came from a modest upbringing. He’s a very charming and engaging person and was always social and active when he was young. Much more of a learn-by-doing person than a big academic, Jack is very good with his hands. He finished secondary school and did odd jobs in food service for a while. He’s tended bar, he worked at an auto shop for a while, and eventually he fell into cooking, mostly because he got along very well with the head chef at a restaurant where he was working. He’d always known how to cook, learning from his mom, and eventually he got quite good at it. After several hardships, Jack has come to America to move on. He’s still very charming and stuff but he’s not the energetic kid he used to be.

Muse Name & Pronouns: Margaret “Peggy” Carter, she/her/hers Muse Age: 27 Role: Camper Stereotype: The Protector Brief Biography: Peggy was born in London to parents Amanda and Harrison. Coming from a military family, it was unsurprising that both Michael and Peggy Carter went on to serve in the military. But even without the influence from their family, Peggy’s devotion as a youngster to her brother would have likely lead her down the same path regardless. Though she believed that she was going to be fighting for a just cause, her time spent in Afghanistan disabused her of this notion and she returned home after two tours feeling quite differently. She’s been home for a while, but has yet to confront her experience head on. Peggy has been living with her brother for around two years. They both have provided each other with quiet emotional support. Peggy studied computer programming and supports herself by doing freelance work. She’s going to camp partially because she feels like a burden on her brother and wants to give him some space. He encouraged her to go, hoping she might make some connections there, as she and her military buddies have fallen somewhat out of contact.

Muse Name & Pronouns: Joe Goldberg, he/him/his Muse Age: 30 Role: Camper Stereotype: The Nice Guy Brief Biography: Joe Goldberg is a bookstore clerk at Mooney’s in New York City. He’s just a regular guy, he keeps his head down, likes his job, and that’s all. But he is desperate for love. Traumatized by abuse in his past and the sense that he was abandoned by his mother, Joe struggles deeply to feel wanted, and he seeks to quell that ache by finding the perfect woman. The only problem is that he will stop at nothing to get his happy ending. He believes Beck, his current ex girlfriend, is the perfect woman and his soul mate. He did whatever it took to win her heart and he will do anything to get it back.
