Efficient Subs

For a long time, I have been a sandwich enthusiast. Before you imagine some type of compulsion where I am eating these things non-stop.. I simply had 1 a day, and not even every day. During my summer of frequenting the subway drive-through (Yes, they have a drive-through, isn’t that great?), I stumbled upon an inconvenience... I almost always ordered the same thing but if I said “The usual, please..”, I would usually only get a long silence. And so turned on the light-bulb.. A sandwich code! No, not a Da Vinci Code. A custom sandwich code that gets put into the system and stored so that after you build your sub one time, you receive a short number code. This would be a new one if your sub doesn’t exist in the system or an already existing code if someone else made the sub before you. That way, you don’t have to name each ingredient you want, the lines are dealt with more efficiently, and other people can go online to see the subs their friends have created, and even try them!

When will Subway, Publix Subs, and small sub shoppes catch up with the future of ordering custom made food?

Good Food

Spoil yourself.. that’s what is written on the front of the menu of a little spot located just north of Sheridan st on US-1. First thing I noticed is what a great marketing tactic that was.. Second thing I noticed is they really do allow you to spoil yourself.

Intermission: About a year ago I had the idea of opening up a little bakery/dessert spot in the area that specialized in serving the best treats money can buy, open all times of the night. I considered this a viable idea b/c personal experience has shown me the power of late night cravings.We see it in movies, magazines, advertisements, and personal life. Humans love sugar. Time to capitalize!

CYBER PIZZA CAFE! I first noticed this name about a year before I even thought about eating there. The issue seemed to be that each time I passed by the sign, I imagined a small cafe serving coffee/burgers/fries/chickenfingers w/ the ability to use computers (probably at a cost). This was far from the truth. Spoiler alert: There’s not much focus on the cyber part, but extreme excellence when it comes to the pizza. But wait.. everyone has pizza and Mauro’s is right down the street! That’s true, but do they deliver till 4am? Do they deliver DESSERT till 4am?

Enough of the suspense, here are my favorite things about them: -Homemade food, cooked fresh each time -Quick delivery and respectable employees -Huge selection at an affordable price -Amazing coupon deals as well as free incentives offered -Big Dessert Selection! -Mobile App w/ Pictures of Food

Recent experience: I had an order delivered but the guy forgot to bring the soda. I was parched and had nothing to drink so I was rather disappointed about not having it. Even though I told him it was unnecessary, the guy showed up soon after holding the soda and said (In a spanish accent) “I gave you my word, mayne. I always keep my word”. My wholesome meal was saved! (...yes yes I know the soda isn’t healthy)

Uber Situation

Have you used taxi’s often? When I think of using a taxi in hollywood or hallandale, I imagine being picked up by a guy that is on the phone, has an accent, and/or seems more occupied with his personal life than with transporting me anywhere. I won’t even refer to the really odd times when there was some ethnic music blaring or I just got a nasty attitude from the guy. Then comes that meter.. The meter that feels like it’s rigged because no matter what, the price is rising and rising and rising.. During my last trip to Costa Rica, the meter was definitely rigged. In Hollywood, maybe not. Then came Uber and saved the day! Wow, now you can see where your taxi is on an app and the person is trying to make a good impression on you. That’s what we were lacking.. accountability! Each driver gets reviews and has an incentive to provide good customer service. The rates are incredibly cheap, which has been MY incentive to start using this alternate means of transportation. I hope that Broward county rectifies their problem with this Uberly efficient means of transportation very soon. Who are we helping by banning Uber? People that are attached to their taxi job? You can’t halt humanity’s progress b/c it’s inconvenient to a small group. Gone are the days of us being overcharged and under-appreciated during a taxi ride!
