Saved this guy from the road today after traveling back from my cottage in New Ross. She had been hit by car while trying to lay her eggs and her shell was crushed and her front legs were not working very well. These guys are REALLY dangerous so if you see one DON'T pick it up. This girl was pretty injured but they will take off part of your hand in a hurry if you even get near it. Snapping turtles are endangered in Nova Scotia and they are all laying eggs right now. If you see one, just try and herd them with a long stick to get them off the road.

Did a scary thing today! Doesn't look terrible, but going head-first at the ground with no hands is terrifying. Also, that sound is me screaming, not the pole squeaking.
