hi, i’m just … so in awe of henrik’s respectful and knowledgeable portrayal of depression; the tiny little details that were likely conscious choices on his part as an actor. we all know the writing will have played a part in that. but the little things, the flickering eyelids and even struggling to keep his eyes open. the blank stare etc. that’s all henrik. they were all down to him, because of how well he understands the mental illness he’s portraying. it’s so important. he’s so important, god what on earth did we do to deserve such a brilliant actor, who not only has so much talent, but who has so much respect for the people out their suffering with this illness. who needed him to get it right.

here’s what pisses me off about what sonja said, as someone with bipolar disorder:

not only was it insensitive, it was disgustingly ignorant. as someone who’s known Even for four years, sonja should know that people with mental illness have feelings. yes, even was having a manic episode. yes, we do impulsive things on our highs. but our feelings? they’re just as real and intense as anybody else’s. just because we’re mentally ill, doesn’t mean our feelings aren’t valid. we can have happy and healthy relationships and lead successful lives. do you know how i know that? because i know how it feels to be Even. i am Even. i’ve been Even for the past four years of my life. and i know that whatever feelings i have, are real.

so you know what? i don’t care if sonja’s been with Even for four years and knows him well, or if she has good intentions. because in the end, like isak said, “only you can feel what you feel.”
