i don’t know if you’ve ever answered this before, but how or why did isa get into radical leftist politics? i’m curious of how closely it ties to his background and i think it’s a really interesting thing to add to his character as i myself am an anarchist. i’m sorry if this question is too personal, or anything.

well isa would consider himself an anarchist but he's not an accurate representation of someone who studies those politics. he identifies with the most basic definition of what anarchism is, being anti-capitalist, anti-borders, but he is more drawn to extremist thought which just comes from a place of anger. he's not capable of directing his anger to anything constructive, especially in his teen years to when he's a young adult.

I have written his parents to be somewhat politically conscious people though so left-leaning politics has always been something in the background of his life even at an early age. his parents have talked a lot about how PRI ruined their lives back in mexico and how a lot of it is tied to the usa's grip on latin america, and generally have always instilled in him this more negative view of the usa and similar powers. but they are also prone to believing in conspiracy theories which means his entire family are very paranoid people, which doesn't help isa's mental health at all.

since he's the only citizen in his family, he's lived his whole life watching his parents and his sister struggle with not having the same opportunities he has. with his father being disabled (a T10 paraplegic) on top of that, he is particularly resentful of how the healthcare system punishes his family for being undocumented when all his father ever did was work in construction to provide for everyone before his accident.

so, much of isa's interest in leftist politics is from pure experience. he's very aware of his status as a citizen compared to his family, very aware of how they're treated like an open secret and that the american dream is a scam. add tonatiuh being someone else he later finds out is undocumented too (who herself is also very angry and views all politics as empty gestures) and isa tries to do something, anything, to be a voice for them.

his attempt at this is burning down a building, which amounts to nothing in the long run. all it does is trigger a psychotic episode where he physically hurts his sister and completely stops talking to tona. he doesn't know what to do with his anger and his despair, and only spends his time locked in his room and spiraling over what a failure he is. at his worst, he's fantasizing about causing a tragedy to make another big statement and taking himself out with it.

his character arc in the story would be trying to recover from his psychosis/depression and figuring out how to properly direct his feelings to actually support the people around him.

oh wow I appreciate the interest but I don't know yet about selling merch of my ocs... I feel like once I actually get my demo out I would start feeling more open to the idea since I have something people could actually sink their teeth into first but again I'm glad my ocs have interested you that much!

Just curious u have artists that inspired u to draw gore/guro?

I've been inspired by random art I see on here, fanart for stuff like ddlc or danganronpa, but honestly I don't really like to interact with other guro artists. and I find a lot of gore art to be boring and tryhard.

I'm more inspired by horror movies, especially gore sfx. but I also tend to fixate a lot on the atmosphere of a movie and the metaphors that gore or generally just any kind of violence and destruction to the human body can represent. there are a lot of scenes from movies that have still stuck with me even years after I watched them (the nose breaking scene from titane, the teeth scene from bug as some examples), and what they mean in the moment for those characters. I appreciate that sort of thing a lot more

hey!! I was wondering but whose voices of people from some media would your characters' like Isa or Tona voices be like? /gen/pos

my closest voice claim for tona is adore delano in interviews, mostly for her laugh I think it's very cute and perfect for tona. isa... I really don't know... he just sounds like any dude I would hear irl with a sort of deep, edgy voice... I do like imagining him singing whenever I listen to deftones, but chino moreno when he speaks is too soft-spoken for isa, lol
