Thank you everyone who participated in Distant Shores Appreciation Week. It was such a nice experience seeing all your amazing posts. It really made up for the lack of content for Distant Shores in the fandom and brought back memories of this beloved book.

There were 100+ entries that we recieved for the week, which in our opinion was a great success, it would not have happened without your enthusiasm and cooperation. We hope that all of you enjoyed this week as much as we did.

why did they decide to just drop distant shores book 2? became sad for the stop of the story

Well, I’m actually not sure there was meant to be a (confirmed) sequel, unless PB announced one and then took it back like they did with RoD’s, which I don’t recall as being the case. The ending was really open and of course we all wish they’d made it feel more like a conclusion or kept it going, but when you think about it, it’s not too surprising that it didn’t get a sequel.

Back when it was releasing, people would call it boring and disappointing week after week (even before the book even came out, ever since the time travel aspect was announced), and it wasn’t until the last couple of chapters that they changed their minds and started calling it god-tier and demanding a sequel, but by then it was too late and PB had deemed the series as not successful enough to merit one. It’s just the way things worked out in the end. What’s important is that while Distant Shores may not have gotten a book 2, there will always be book 1 to love and replay as much as we like :)

There is an atrocious lack of gay pirate content in the “Distant Shores” fandom, and I thought I’d try and fix that. I worked on this for like 3 hours straight and wouldn’t stop until I finished it. As a result I got lazy towards the end and the background is a mess. Forgive meh.

Beatrice had returned from a tea party, at which her grandmother had demanded her presence. She was wearing a teal dress that fitted and accentuated perfectly certain parts of her body, parts of which, as a father, he wished were not showing up so quickly. She still had most of the dolls in the bedroom, it was not possible that she had grown so much in the past few months. This realization sank into him when his daughter entered his bureau, leaving Vincent stunned for a few moments.

‘Is everything alright, Papa?’

‘Yes. I asked you to come here because I need your advice, my dear, I’ve worked on a new plot…’

‘Papa, you promised that you would finish Desire and Decorum before start writing another book!’

‘I know, but there are still some plot holes I’ve to figure out how to solve.’

‘I start to think that D'n’D is going to be your Shroud of Penelope*’

‘In the new chapter, Clara finally receives the marriage proposal her heart desires…’

‘They’ll finally get married?’

‘You’ll have to wait some more time. I’ve some plot twists in my sleeve…’

‘It’s going to be Duke, isn’t it?’

‘Patience, my dear, patience…’

‘Your slow-burn kills me…’

‘Love takes time and things made with love too. Meanwhile, I came up with this idea for a new plot. I wanted to try something different. I like the concept of time travels… it allows us combines magic or science with History. Have you heard about Edward Montemer?’
