Admittedly, he was a bit surprised, His expression darkens slightly at the mention of the rest of his staff, “Ah, yes, I’m sure there are some out there that would be perfectly fine with such things. In fact, I wonder if any of them would go as far as to attempt something as you aren’t there to supervise.”

The second thing surprised him. Once again he was caught off guard by the kind things Shitsuo was saying and unsure of how to feel. Instinctively, despite how much he hated doing so, he lied.

"I can’t see what else there is to be concerned about regarding my person, nor can I think of anything else that was irritating me," He pretended to mull it over when in reality he was hiding what he was really concerned about still.

After all the last time he had mentioned it, he upset the butler with his careless words. It wasn’t Shitsuo’s fault he couldn’t trust in his kindness right away. His fear was both an insult to his servant’s loyalty and painful to his own pride. Of course he wasn’t ready to admit something like that.

Shitsuo sighed. He knew that the words Hibiya spoke were lies. That the prince didn't want to talk about things with him. He had even told the other that he wouldn't pry if the other didn't want to talk.

So having Hibiya lie to him about matters that were obviously wrong... That hurt.

Still, the servant plastered a light smile onto his face. "I am not convinced. However, since you do not wish to talk about anything, I will not pry." Hibiya would come to him when he was ready. And he was alright with that. Those words had been spoken to the prince.

"Considering I have nothing else to entertain myself with at the moment, there’s no harm in sharing," He spoke balancing the difficult line between trying to seem like he didn’t care as much as he truly did and not appearing completely indifferent. There was also a tiny bit of suspicion on how Shitsuo tried to dismiss whatever else he was concerned about. Just what was he thinking about and what made it hard to discuss with the prince? Curiosity and fear laced his interest and that was solely what drove him to ask, as the minuscule amount of care he held was more than he’d like to admit at the moment. 

If he brought himself to admitting he cared as a friend, then it’d only hurt that much more when he’s stabbed in the back.

"Ah, its really just little things, like how things are going along without us at home. The other servants may think of this as their vacation, and have slacked off." He shrugged at the words. But at the same time, that wasn't all. That was something little, that he didn't usually even need to share with the prince.

"Of course, I'm also worried that you're still hiding things, but I don't want to pry too much. That could be just as bad as ignoring it completely. I had intended to wait until you deemed it alright to talk about anything else that may be bothering you, instead of pushing you to share."

As he had mentioned it, he couldn't wait until Hibiya had deemed it alright to talk about it. The prince already knew that that was concerning him, and there was no taking it back.

"If you want to talk, I'm always here to listen. If you do not feel like sharing, then I will wait until you are."

The panic he felt earlier doubled back at those kind words. His mind wanted to believe in them, but he still was unable to fully. He managed to reel his distress in before it became noticeable, but there was still something off in the way he answered the butler, “Thank you for that.”

"Was there anything else you wanted to ask of me or have I answered everything that was… concerning you?" He asked, adding a bit of hesitancy towards the end because part of him is still afraid to admit that what Shitsuo feels is truly concern. The idea of anyone caring or being concerned about his person is quite strange to the prince. At least, beyond his duties or perhaps his parents orders it felt strange, yet also warm in a way.

Among the panic, there definitely was a kernel of happiness.

"There is still plenty of things that are concerning me... But nothing else that too important. As long as you are doing well, then for now, everything is good."

He smiled lightly then.

Hibiya knew such things to be true, but it was easier said than done.  More so, the advice sounded nice right up until that last statement.

"Someone cares for you." 

Who? Perhaps Idun, but she could only care for him as much as a horse could. It seemed at times Shitsuo cared, but at the same time it was his job to care for the prince. They already discussed it being more than just a job, but it twisted Hibiya up inside.

Hesitantly, he asked quietly, “Does such a person exist?” Fear laced his voice because the answer to said question had the potential to destroy him.

The fear in Hibiya's voice didn't sit well with him. Did he really feel so alone? Of course he did. Hibiya always locked himself away, and only went out during social events such as the one they were on the ride home on.

"Of course such people exist."

His voice softened, and he smiled lightly. "I care for you."

He was happy to see the other agreed with his words rather than trying to tell him something foolish like it must not be as bad as he thought in an effort to cheer him up. Unfortunately, it still didn’t make his irritation leave and the price couldn’t help the sigh that left his lips at the mere thought of it.

"I would stop attending them altogether, but I’d rather know what people are talking about when speaking about me than be in the dark. Not to mention, it’ll probably just be a sign of weakness on my part," He comments bitterly. 

A dark laugh suddenly leaves him and he can’t help uttering the thought that just arose, ” I wonder if they’d even go as far as to speak to my parents in some kind of disgusting concern if I stopped attending without a word. Would they even bother to see if I was still alive or would they just assume by word of mouth that I had perished?” His would make him sound bitter and angry, but his eyes betray the fact that the whole daydream makes him depressed. The unspoken question in his mind resting around what his parents truly think of him anymore. Do they even love me or worry about me anymore?

Shitsuo frowned, and placed one hand on Hibiya's shoulder.

"Don't think about such things. It isn't good, to dwell on scenarios we don't have to face."

It was such simple advice... And not advice that would be easy to follow, either. Shitsuo knew that things such as that thought plagued Hibiya's mind quite often.

"Besides, it doesn't matter what they think, so long as someone cares for you."

He wanted to believe those words and he was choosing to for now, but he couldn’t deny that it scared him. 

The question of whether he could trust Shitsuo leaned closer to yes before he had shown his true colors, but there were circumstances and excuses that the butler himself gave that Hibiya was struggling to take into account.

"…I’ll be holding you to those words, now then, I suppose I should be gracious enough to answer your inquiry," He sighed and tried to figure out where to start.

"I dread coming to these parties. All these people wear their masks and try to sound accommodating, but even someone like yourself could tell it was just an excuse to gossip and maintain relationships and business partners. On the surface they appear to pity me, but behind my back they doubt and question my abilities. It’s insulting and irritating," the prince practically sneers the last part unsure whether to feel depressed or angry at this point. In a way, he was even more frustrated that such swine could even effect his feelings to begin with.

Shitsuo was glad that Hibiya had accepted his words, and he would do all he could to make sure that they were not lies. After all, he had never told Hibiya a lie yet, and just the one time he had backed away when Hibiya needed something had caused the young prince great dismay. It wasn't something he wanted the other to go through again... At least not because of him.

"They are petty." It was the first thing that came to his mind, after Hibiya finished speaking.

"On some level, it is to make sure nothing goes amiss, but as you said, it's just to gossip." He wouldn't deny that he had heard gossip as he walked. "Petty things. Things that don't matter. Parties like that aren't for serious words. Serious words are said at a meeting of some sort. Yet they want to pass off those parties as meetings, to make those of lower status jealous... To see friends without having to be stiff and formal."

That was what the parties always seemed to do, anyway.

"You shouldn't let their opinions of you get to you either, Hibiya. After all, what does even one of them know of you? Who there can say that they know what goes on inside your head? None of them do exactly what they do, and each person has different things they must accomplish. To them, it is just more gossip, and shouldn't be paid any mind."

"No? Well then, what brings you to the area?"

"So your heart wavered is what you’re telling me, correct?" He smiled hollowly, he felt mixed up inside. It made him happy to hear that concern, but to know that for a moment Shitsuo wavered in his sense of duty and loyalty worried him. He wanted to depend on him. He wanted the bulter to be there for him and be someone he could trust.

But in the end, what if that happened again? 

What if he hesitated and abandoned him once more?

Would this be enough for him to learn his lesson, or would it happen again?

"Do you remember the oath you took when you first started working for me? How you vowed to serve me and protect me with your life if it came to it?" The prince began, before clarifying why he even brought it up, "If what you’re saying is true, then I’ll forgive you on one condition only." He bit his lip nervous to say what he was thinking because in a way it almost felt like he was ordering him to be more concerned, but he knew that wasn’t true.

"Do not waver again, I’m trusting you both as my servant and… as more than that if you so wish. If you betray me, I’ll have you removed from my side and put into a more horrible position do you understand?" He feels his face heating up embarrassed by what he’s saying and asking. He can only hope that Shitsuo understands, but he doesn’t think he has the pride or ability to clarify better.

His heart did waver. It was unfortunate, but true. Human were imperfect, after all. He had faults. Faults that he didn't care for... But they were there.

As Hibiya spoke on, he felt better. He was getting through to his young master, and he would protect the other.

"I will not waver again. I swear this on my life. You are important, and I would not want to hurt you again."

He's really bored.

︻デ═一 Psy was good 100 feet or so from his target as they ran. He shot at the virus, but kept missing. “Dammit…” He aim while he was moving was pretty bad.

- So he stop, changed his pistol to a sniper rifle, and went down on his knee. Aimming…Fire!

- Psy shot virus through the leg. “Got ya…” Changing back to the pistol, he pushed off the ground and heading after him again. “That should slow him down…”

Vi grimaced lightly when the bullet when through his leg.

-Dammit!-

Even if he didn't particularity feel the bullet, it still slowed him down.

That meant it was time to be cautious. Otherwise, he really wouldn't survive.

Quickly, Vi ducked into an alley.

-This is not a good situation.-

He turned his censors on the down low. He needed to heal.

︻デ═一 The bullet grazed his arm. “Tch…” He shot again, but the virus ran off making him miss.

- Bloody fluid trickled down his arm as he gave chase to the infected android. “Mark my words virus! I will destroy you!” Even if I have to take myself with you….

"Sure you will~" Virus's words echoed off the building, as he was still running. It was so much fun, messing with the green android like this. He could do it all day, all night even. Forever and ever.

Of course, he still had to be careful, and make sure he wasn't killed in some idiotic move.

He was a bit pleased to see the other so uncomfortable from the royal’s words if only because he was glad the lesson seemed to be sinking in. As if changing the subject, he asked a question that would make his lesson easier to teach.

"Tell me Shitsuo, have you ever heard of something called breaking the rules for the sake of what’s good or right?” He stared, demanding an answer. It was true that it would be more proper for Shitsuo to remain in his role, but the prince wanted to forgive him and deep down wanted someone he could speak to about more personal matters. He just couldn’t stop feeling angry at what the other had done and a little bit afraid of opening himself up for it to happen again. If his lesson got across, then it might not happen though.

Here was the tough question. Breaking the rules because of it being right or good... It was something he had to think about... Something he had to answer carefully, else risk pushing the young prince from him..

"I have heard of it... But there is a limit. Certain rules are in place in order to protect what is right and good... It is true that certain rules are unjust or wrong... But who is it that decides that? One person may break a rule, thinking it is right, and another may follow it, believing that that is right."

He frowned then. t came down to what he thought, didn't it?

"In this certain case... I believe that leaving you alone is wrong, even if that is what I'm supposed to as your servant."

︻デ═一 He narrowed his eyes. He was definitely cocky. “And how would that happen, pest? What could possibly be fun for the both of us? And don’t say my name like that!”

- He watched as the other spun his gun. Cocky shit, I should just shoot him now. But why hadn’t he? Maybe because he was waiting for this?

- As soon as the virus finished speaking, Psy shot him in the shoulder. “You were saying?”

He should have expected that. Psy had been designed to destroy him. The other android wouldn't wait forever.

Still, it wasn't as if the bullet hurt. It was supposed to. He was supposed to be as close to the human lifeform as possible. But he had defective. Most times, pain didn't register. It was both good and bad for him.

Good, because it meant that he could keep going long past when another would stop. And because if he sustained more damage than he could handle, he wouldn't know.

"Was that supposed to hurt?" If he hadn't been a virus, it would have. Effortless, he lifted his own gun and shot it once at Psy. Really, he didn't care if it hit or not.

"As for what would be fun for the both of us? How about a game of cat and mouse?" He didn't wait for an answer. Instead, he just took off running.

He couldn’t be sure whether he’d feel like eating then either, but he had an inkling that Shitsuo would push on it until he did. Hibiya bit his lip, but he couldn’t help it really. It was rare for him and he was aware on some level that it was childish, but what Shitsuo had done had hurt more than the butler probably realized.

"Are you sure about that my servant?" He dropped the loyal adjective because he was hurt and taking it out on Shitsuo. He wanted to throw a tantrum and tell him just what walking away had meant, but out of pride he couldn’t go that far. Trust and having nice company were things the prince yearned for and to have Shitsuo seem like he was offering that just to walk away and leave him on his own spouting words implying like Hibiya should handle it on his own reminded him of his parent’s actions.

"If you know it was wrong then why did you do it in the first place? Make up your mind, is it more wrong to show concern and care and loyalty to your master than abandoning him?" He snapped, but he was more upset than angry. Hearing those words just sent him over the edge making him lose the composed regal form he was supposed to carry. In some ways it made him feel more angry at acting like such a child over something he should have accepted a long time ago.

Shitsuo visibly flinched at Hibiya's words. They were harsh and said out of anger... But on some level, they were true. They were true, and he really didn't like it.

"I wasn't trying to abandon you. As your servant, there are lines I'm not supposed to cross." Lines that were supposed to be crossed by family or friends, of which he was neither. "But I am concerned for you, which is why I'm confronting you about this at all." It was wrong of him. But at the same time, he couldn't leave the other.

"Would you rather I stay in my roll, and leave you to mope by yourself?"

︻デ═一 “It isn’t suppose to be fun, pest!” He aimed the gun at him.

- He smirked. “Showing yourself so quickly. You either wanna die, or you’ve gotten cockier. I’d go for the latter.” His eyes narrowed. “You think I’d let you end me? You’re stupider than you look virus. I was created specially to destroy you, and I’m equipped to do so. You really want to test me?”

Vi laughed as he twirled the gun around his finger. Really, it was quite dangerous of him to do so. If he made one wrong move, the gun would fly from his finger, leaving him defenseless. Well, not completely.

"If it's only fun for one party, that isn't very fun. So how about I make it fun for the both of us, Ps~y?"

He laughed as he stopped spinning the gun, and held it in the correct position again. "You may be built for destroying 'virus's', but that doesn't mean you'll be able to. Why else would I still be here?"
