Enid my beloved
A new @desynced-official track is finally out! done originally on 2021, it was recently used for the most recent SAHcon trailer.
Despite being so long after making this one, I'd say it's still one of my best works just by how cool the production and melodies are. This was originally a track made for a character in the comic but now it has a new and cool context that will be revealed at some point in a new album! (Oh wow it's been so long, I feel so nostalgic... wich is weird because it was like, 2 years ago or something lmao)
So check it out, and stay tuned for more COOL DESYNCED TRACKS!
first post here uhhh have some desynced fanart of my fav outfits ft enid and kate:)))
What was your development process like for kate? Was her dysphoria based off personal experiences or just lots of research?
Kates foundation, like the other main 5, was strongly based off the original creators of Desynced. In Kates case she was heavily based off myself. All he feeling and dysphoria, relationship with sexuality in terms of her gender and even her relationship with her Dad was taken straight from my own experiences. Her dysphoria scene probably wouldnt have been that relentless if it wasnt personal.
Kate overall is not me anymore and shouldnt be looked through that lense, but that was absolutely the inspiration behind her dysphoria
What are your thoughts on noelle×susie
Noelle deserves to be happy and thats who she ends up with if shes allowed to be happy
On to the second track, Tyrant
Easily my favorite track on the album and something I wish I could channel into my newer songs. I wanted to create a dark industrial sound that was very reminiscent of the abrasive demeanor of Anake. Needless to say this was very much out of my comfort zone since much of my music was far more melody-centered. It all clicked when I listed to both "Reagan" by Killer Mike and the Main Theme of Shin Megami Tensei IV. From there I created this dystopic soundscape of stuttering pads and heavy as fuck drums. In the later half i even managed to quote "Mirror Mirror" from Desynced Vol.1. I still like this one to this day and easily the highlight I show people off this album
Time for track 3, Luminary
I remember this track being really difficult to kind of conceptualize at first since I wasn't really familiar with the genre of rock music that this fits within. I recall the song having like 3-4 for different demos before taking the form you hear in the final version. it was only after taking time to listen to some post-rock and shoegaze that the song really started to come together. That being said I think this is probably my biggest triumph given how stylistically different this song is from anything I've done before and since. Figuring out how to mix the guitars to give them that atmospheric edge was really fun. This song is also a highlight for my time with desynced since it was featured in the flash [S] Momo: Release. Dizzy really loved the early demo of the song and basically retooled some panels to turn into a whole flash and I thought that was really cool.

Thought I would start sharing the individual panel art I do for Desynced updates here too!

where do you animate???? :(((((( im just so curious cus csp can't give me what i really want
For my animated panels, I animate in CSP, but for bigger scale animations (like flashes) I used Adobe Animate since that's what I was taught with in University
Time to get into the first real track on the album, Matriarch
Long time followers of my music may remember a song from all the way back on Desynced Vol.1 called "Mother Dearest." I recall vividly how little I liked that track given my lack of orchestration skill at the time and how I wished I could redo it. "Matriarch" is that do over and frankly blows the original out of the water. Everything here is bigger and better: the orchestration, the sense of scale, the layers of melodic density, etc. I wanted to start this album on the most grandiose note possible and even two years later I think it does it well even if I think it's a bit chaotic by my standards today.
Of course to start we have the opener "Prelude"
There isn't whole lot to talk about this track. It's a simple piano piece that hints at the motif that will appear on the final song. I loved the idea of having prelude to both the song "Divine Tapestry" and to the album as whole. Figured it was a good way to do some decent plant and payoff.
To talk about the album broadly for a moment, Pantheon was largely written as a reaction to my very first LP "On The Rox." While I had and still have some fondness for it , I feel like it was overly long, tracks blended in with each other and a muddied vision. So for the second album I wanted the exact opposite: trim with more varied production that best represented each of the gods.
Pantheon Retrospective
So in light of both twitter shitting the bed yet again and me being on the horizon of releasing potentially two different solo projects this year, my mind wandered to my second LP, "Pantheon" for the MSPFA "Desynced". It was about 2 years ago when I finished the album and was very much a turning point in my style and approach to music. Due to being busy with other projects, I never wrote any commentary like I normally do so I figured that I'd take time to write some like 2 years later lol.
This little series will start tomorrow and will be mirrored to both Cohost, and Youtube
