Power is always dangerous.
It attracts the worst and corrupts the best.
Power is only given to those, who are prepared to lower themselves to pick it up.

Run run Senegalese
Last weekI arrived in Dakar, a city covered by sea from three sides. There is a main road called Route de la Corniche which goes along the west coast of Dakar and I take the route to office everyday.
Riding on the taxi, I found an interesting phenomenon–there is a place called zone sportive; Japanese call it Kinniku Kaigan “muscular seashore”. There is a huge number of machines to train the body and these machines are covered by Senegal people in the afternoon, who are training seriously. Some are running, some are dancing in a ground, some are practicing muscles. These machines are apparently donated by Chinese, such an interesting aid.
This situation surprises me because for me it is always the locals who look at foreigners who run around the city, since running outside is just not a practice (this is based on my experience in Mali). This shows that Senegal people are health conscious. My colleagues also told me that this could also be a reason why the criminal rate is low in Dakar.
So how does it feel like a sportive Senegal person? I ran on the past Sunday along the East coast for about 30 minutes and the sea view is stunning. The weather is just great around 25 degree Celsius. However, since I was stunned by the view and good temperature, and I forgot that I am not that good at running, and got extremely tired at the end. Let me control my pace and try another time soon.
