Shookorelli 2016 (Year In Review: Cimorelli)
2016 was one of the most difficult years that we have ever faced in this decade. This one was a roller coaster ride which had its highs and lows. Still, despite the challenging times that we had this year, there are some silver linings to this otherwise rough 2016.
One of those silver linings that emerged from the year 2k16 was Cimorelli. This band, which composes of six sisters from Nashville, Tennessee has just achieved a very productive year overall not just for themselves in their personal lives but also for their fans (#CimFam) as well. It has also been one of the best years for the band since they started it all in 2007.
Now, here are some of the achievements, notable events, and routines that Cimorelli started doing this year. (in no particular order)
1. Snapchat Days
In mid-2014, CImorelli joined the Snapchat bandwagon by making their own Snapchat account (itscimorelli), but they have no common schedule as to when they use their Snapchat. Prior to February 2016, any one of them can snap at any given time.
Then, just last February this year, Lauren decided to snap for the band every Saturday. Her scheduling was so good that all the other sisters followed suit, and below is the following schedule for their SnapChat days every week:
Monday: Lisa
Tuesday: Christina
Wednesday: Katherine
Thursday: Amy
Friday: Dani
Saturday: Lauren
Sunday: Vacant (unless in important instances such as Q & A, tour updates, etc in which one of the sisters would take over their SC account)
Since then, every CimFam has had a reason to smile and look forward to the next day. If you’re having a bad day, then at least you have Cimorelli and their SnapChat days to look forward to.
2, More chatting moments with Cimorelli (Periscope, Facebook Live, YouNow, Instagram Stories, Lisa’s personal SC)
There have been a lot of times that Cimorelli would talk to us through social media, here are my thoughts:
It was only in 2015 that Cimorelli started to use Periscope. Additionally, some of the sisters even have a separate account in which they can use Periscope. The year started with Katherine periscoping twice (one in February, and the other one was in June) Then, in mid-September, Lisa joined in the Periscope tradition. Not only that, she would Periscope at least twice a week during the months of September and October. There was a point in which she Periscoped almost everyday of the week. After touring Europe throughout most of November, Lisa still continues to do so, just as what she did prior to their European tour. Other sisters also joined in the Periscope thing, with Christina doing it at least once.
When Facebook Live was released in 2016, Cimorelli took full advantage of it. They announced the SnapChat days habit as well as announcing their second album and first book. In addition to the announcements they would make on the FB live, one of the sisters have had a chance to chat to their CimFams at least twice. This was evident throughout March 2016 and it continued through at least October 2016.
Lauren also had a chat on the YouNow channel as well.
When IG stories came this year, they really went after it. Lisa, Christina, and Amy have had their moments on the live video that Instagram introduced. It was a whole new way to share their stories as well as inspirational advice.
Lastly, is the return of Lisa’s personal Snapchat account (itslisacim) and it proved to be a big success. Since its return, a lot of people have been following her on Snapchat, which was a very good decision for her to do so.
3. Surprises, surprises, surprises.
CImorelli have been known to be surprising their fans throughout the years, but they took it to new heights this year. Here are some of the times in which one/most/all of them surprised us out of nowhere: (no particular order)
1. Cimorelli dropping new original music videos w/o prior notice (example: I Like It, I’m A Mess, Good Enough)
2. Lisa gets a new & short haircut (probably the biggest shocker of the year for this fandom)
3. Cimorelli suddenly deciding to release the unreleased songs, 8 of them to be exact, that did not make it into their previous EPs/albums and those that were never heard of previously through Dani’s Soundcloud (example: Miles Away, Boom, The Last Time, Bye Boy Bye)

5. Cimorelli’s pep talks (especially on life)
4. Achievements
This part of my YIR is the most exciting one. Cimorelli have done so much for us this year, I honestly think they made my 2016 despite all of the challenges that we’ve had to go through. Here they are: (no particular order)
1. A book, Lessons Learned
2. Two albums released and announced within 10 months with 24 songs combined, each song is powerful and they get the message across very well
(Up At Night, announced in February & released in May)
(Alive, announced in late October & released in December)
3. A reality show, Life As Cimorelli
4. A movie, Hope Strings Eternal (release date TBA)
5. Three tours spanning three continents
(South America, April, 4 countries)
(North America, May, 8 states in the US)
(Europe, November, 12 countries)
6. Touching and inspiring more #CimFams in every show that they’ve done this year
7. Their PledgeMusic campaign that contains merch and experiences that are innovative
8. The Cimorelli App with its regular contests
9. An Awesomeness TV appearance
10. 10 covers
11. 11 original music videos (10 are from the UAN album, 1 is from the HOF mixtape, Good Enough)
12. Sharing us more experiences and stories as well as giving advice the whole 2016
13. Their beautiful pics (especially during photoshoots)
It was indeed an eventful year to remember for Cimorelli! It was one of their best years yet as a band. From touching and inspiring people’s lives through their music and advice to sharing their personal stories, we were SHOOK TO THE CORE in every thing that they posted and announced on their social media accounts. Expect more of these moments to happen this 2017 as Cimorelli celebrates their 10th year anniversary as a band.
