Hey everyone. With a summer break from classes, I was able to get out on a hike and enjoy nature. Get away from politics, chaos, and anger. Get away from signals for any social media to reach me and just enjoy the wilderness. In my hike, I was able to see a black bear, young but almost adult, just roaming the area. No tension or stress, just roaming around. I fell in love and starting taking photos when I could. Though the photos weren’t great, I looked up “black bear cub” and just started sketching. Studying character designs and life sketch. These are things I definitely encourage my fellow art friends and acquaintances... get away from the social media and television sets, and find nature. Digital Illustration II - Fantasy Card (elf and dwarf theme). [FINAL] In this assignment, we were given a dialog and asked to show in our our way of presenting this story. The characters start as an elf and dwarf in terms of “Lord of the Rings” style. I found it funny as I’m a dwarf and I could finally use my body proportions for one of the characters. My teacher challenged me to go into “bug” view in order to have a more dramatic visual. I’m pretty proud of this. Quick sketch on a free hour. Running has been a great hobby and self soothe for me during these times. While balancing school, work and putting a portfolio together, it’s been hectic during it all.
