Wonderful dinner for last night in #banyuwangi ... #tempong style meal... #friedchicken #tempeh , tofu, greens, rice, #sambal and fried local fish and mushrooms. Gotta admit that the first time I had fried chicken here, it seemed kinda scrawny to me. But the birds are raised such that the meat, to me, is much more delicious than bigger birds in 🇺🇸. It actually tastes like chicken. Will miss everyone here till next year. I think we firmly established that I prefer the #indochinese better than pure play Indonesian food. Excellent last full day lunch with the fam...and an enchanting lady (who I took a pic of last year, too😳) came in and sold mom some fresh eggs. First dish is a wonton thrown in to the ubiquitous #bakso soup...a very tight beef / cornstarch meatball that’s served EVERYWHERE here. (at Depot Ny. Maybe my fave meal in BWI...Homemade noodles with a kind of Chinese Bolognese...with some wontons at the bottom. We had with pork fritters and sweets.
