Business called him to leave Midorijima for nearly two months- the trip had been long and exhausting. Overseeing negotiations with a new partner division in the Toue Konzern had taken him to the mainland- and while accommodations were top notch, luxury scale- the hours were long and stress levels were high. As always, Takahashi had taken it upon himself to see that everything was completed promptly, that contracts were signed and timely sent to Toue for review and that the new partners were comfortable and pleased with the arrangement. 

After all, there was a standard that had to be met. 

When Takahashi returned to the Oval Tower the following work day he was a bit worse for wear. The last two months of had worn him down and it was apparent as he appeared more gaunt and sleepless than usual. Though it hadn’t effected his obsessive work ethic. 

Coffee however, was necessary- and that was a new habit. He sipped it as he stood at the copier, smoothing out papers and in an attempt to make a more presentable file for Toue- as some of the contracts and other paperwork didn’t stay so neat over the last couple months.

"Well well. Look what the private jet dragged in. Thought you could just reappear without even a hello, Takeshi-san? How rude."

That unmistakable voice drawled from behind him, playful annoyance grossly exaggerated for impact. Crossing the space between them, Virus circled around to the opposite side of the copier to flash a predatory smile, leaning his elbows atop the cover while it whirred and hummed.

"Slipping under the radar on some red-eye flight? Mn." The first thing he noticed was just how…terrible the other man looked. Exhausted was an understatement. Stressed out and worn down in some sadly haggard way that was extremely unbecoming.

Maybe his memories had been a bit idealized, too.

"You look absolutely wretched.” Said only in the most endearing of ways.

Missed you, Secretary-kun.

Violet eyes flickered up at the blond, outlined by dark circles of sleeplessness and pale, sharp gaunt angles. A light smile formed on his lips- regardless of his weary condition. "It's good to see you too." He hummed- in good humor. 

He straightened his posture, turning his attention from the groans and whirring of the copy machine to the younger man- "I trust you didn't get into too much trouble while I was away.I have yet to go over the disciplinary reports that were filed in my absence...not to mention Morphine's spending reports." He chuckled.

Takahashi's face pinkens lightly, "Ah, I have taken some time to get aquainted with Virus, and I quite enjoy his company and our conversations. He is intelligent, and interesting to speak to, our opinions differ at times but I enjoy his perspective. He has good taste and appreciates fine things as I do. He is honest about the things that he enjoys, and will speak up about what he doesn't and I can appreciate that. I like that. I'd even say I like him."

What's your relationship like with Trip ((cakefuckerofficial))?

Takahashi sighs and rubs his temples at the thought, "It ranges from tense to explosive depending on what his latest antics are. I find him to be impetuous, brash, and when Virus isn't around he lacks self control. However, I won't let him walk all over me like others have allowed him to do in the past- and he knows this. He enjoys testing my limits at times, and it has gotten him into quite a bit of trouble as a result."

Takahashi's expression turned evasive, "I know many people and my relationships with said people vary. So yes, I have many relationships. Some are friendly, some are not so, some are purely work related and some casual. If you want to know about a relationship with someone in particular you'd have to be a bit more specific, Mystery-san."
