Oracle bones
Julius Kane - Organic forms
WIP details of the ceremonial cloth
Fossil - ancient remains, amorphous interior of the body - ambiguously anatomical form, preservation of bone
Victor Brauner - Suicide at Dawn
Grad show performance ideas
Layers - painting on anatomy in sensual gestures, starting with bones (gesso or white powder), then muscle (red paint allowed to drip as blood). Paper or fabric (already decorated with figurative designs?) is then pressed on to stick to the paint, “bleeding” as pigment is soaked in. These imprints then become their own works and are arranged in bodily formation.
Relic-birth - the “pregnant” stomach of a fabric garment is filled with wet clay and red paint. I pull from the womb and quickly make rough “Venus” figurines and self-portraits. I continue the process until I have no more clay and have an assortment of figures arranged in front of me. At this point my hands and arms will be red, and the garment heavily stained by the process. This “womb” is then installed as a companion work to the clay “relics”.
Ecstasy of the remains - performance existing only as corroded artefact
Tension tension tension
Time as bondage
Pulling between birth and death
Erotic flux between states
Suspended body, woven into space, endless ritual of bonding and contortion
Birthing birthing birthing
Always comes back to this
The rot and dirt
Wet soil gripping around ankles
Appendages held down in mouths of the earth
Tear out
Tear free
Tear my heart out
Hold me into the water
Stillness even as I thrash
Convulse
Ripples as my spine twists and turns
Gently lapping at your hands
As you stoop down by the edge
Feeling slowly inwards
Sliding now
Headfirst into this abyss of me

Spawnpoint- location of rebirth/reiteration in virtual game-space

Dark Souls series - immense passages of time in continuous death and “rekindling” as plot and gameplay point
Gothic-posthuman implications of cyclic respawning gameplay narratives - dying and reliving experience in continuously evolved and customised forms
