Appearing on the stage later than usual, DANIEL walked over to sit next to CHLOE in an empty seat. The male dug his upper row of teeth down into his bottom lip before he clear his throat, trying to calm his nerves. Loosening the grip that he had on his bottom lip, a forced smile spread across his features as he looked at TARAJI then his girlfriend. The question about her former match caused him to instantly roll his eyes in response. Questions about her past seems to follow them everywhere they went and it wasn’t something that he was very fond of. “Can this be the last time she gotta answer a question about that situation? We’re in a whole different season now, we’re doing our own thing and it seems like the past just keeps luring over what we got. No offense to you, Taraji. I know you just doing your job and all.” A hint of irritation was present in his voice as he leaned back against his chair, lightly bouncing his knee.

“This is enough for me, baby. I’mma really enjoy this.” He spoke genuinely to the woman next to him then he turned his attention to the bag that she set in the middle of the table. His eyebrow raised at her straightforwardness, running his tongue between his set before responding. “What you mean “may”? That ain’t the plan?” He questioned before he let out a low laugh at her tugging on the shirt she had on. As his laughter died out, his eyebrows meshed together before he nodded his head slowly, trying to recount what she was referring to. Folding his hands together, he shrugged his shoulders as he replied back truthfully. “Everytime you walk into a room, you got my attention. It’s hard for me to stay focus sometimes with you around. You know how I used to fumble in table readings because I was too busy focusing on how beautiful you looked,” he briefly paused before he allowed his eyes to lock with hers once again. “But yeah, running is a great way to start up then you can gradually build up to something else. If you ever wanna be coached by a pro, you come holla’ at me.” He stated in a cocky tone before he pulled at his jogging pants then the tank that he had on. “This is as non-fancy as it gets. If I get these dirty, I won’t trip.” He muttered as she made her way over to the back wall to get them aprons before they started their creation. He thanked her before placing it around his waist then he nodded his head in agreement to her statement on them doing a piece together then separate. Having something the two of them created together would be a conversation piece for when they had people over as well as something the both of them would remember for the rest of their lives. “Yeah, either there or above the staircase on the way to the bedroom.” He suggested right after she spoke to him. The male grew quiet once the employee made her way over to them to their them about the process of doing resin. He grinned at CHLOE’s reference to them being creative with this art the same way they do with music, he couldn’t help but agree with her. “So, we’re doing Resin first, got it.” He stated to himself with a head nod before he looked over the style options before them. Admiring them quietly for a moment, he pointed at the one on the right of the top row then the second one of the bottom row. “Something like that would be nice in the house, baby. What you think?” He asked genuinely as he picked out the colors that he favored the most. “A big ass painting above our bed would be fiiiiire.” He stretched out the word fire to add emphasis on how much he liked the idea before he looked over the canvas options, picking out one that was big enough for what the wanted then he went over to get it and bring it back over to their table. “Alriiiight. I’m thinking the base color should be black.” He stated before he reached over to grab the black paint and he began to squirt some of the liquid on to the canvas then he grabbed a paint brush to evenly smooth the paint all over the canvas before they continued with their work.

“I mean, you did your thing when it came to the ring. I wonder what else you got up your sleeve.” He lazily turned his head in her direction, watching her movements as she drove the car down the main roads of LA. A smirk formed on his face at the mentioned of her laziness keeping her from the gym. “I’d think you’d distract me too much if you came to the gym with me. Once y’all start performing and touring again, you’ll get all the working out you need, baby.” He continued before pausing to let her tell him about her studio session with her sister. “I can’t wait to hear it, I know it’s gonna be some good shit.” The male complimented CHLOE before she pulled into a parking lot and parked her car. Sitting up some, he reached down to unbuckle his seatbelt as she spoke to him. “I like hearing you say that. Our home.” He said with a nod before pulling his lower lip between his teeth. “I’m wit’ it, let’s go. Definitely glad I didn’t wear anything nice.” He mumbled to himself before he popped the car door open and stepped out of the vehicle, closing the door behind him. DANIEL walked over to his girlfriend, taking her hand in his as he pressed his lips together, his eyes looking over the building with each step they took towards it. As she continued to speak to him, he turned his head downward yet in her direction, nodding along to what she said to him while they walked through the entrance of the studio. He lifted his head up to look at the woman as she led them over to the workers then he mumbled lowly just for her to hear before she spoke to the employees. “You wanted something sentimental in at our place.” He nodded his head at the people she talked to about their reservation before following her over to the table and he pulled her chair out for her to sit down then sat down next to her. “Uh, I’m not gonna lie, that Resin Art and that Acrylic art shit looks fire. And it would look good at home if we did like some neutral colors. I think we should start with that.” He stated before unzipping the jacket that he had on, placing it on the back of the seat as he prepared to paint. “I guess we’re gonna see how creative I really am.” Slightly raising his eyebrows, he sucked in some air as he awaited for the next steps they were going to take.

“I guess you know me a little bit.” He laughed lowly before interlocking their fingers together, following her out of their bedroom. With his opposite hand in his pocket, he listened to her closely, trying divulge what they could possibly be doing for the night. Squinting his eyes, he nodded his head in response to her statement. Once they reached the driveway, he reached for the door to open for himself but stopped when she reached forward to open the door for him. DANIEL couldn’t help but to chuckle at the gesture before getting inside of the car, telling her “thank you.” He wasn’t used to being treated like this, but he could find a way to get comfortable with it eventually. He closed the door behind him then buckled up his seat belt before letting the passenger seat back. Looking in her direction, he watched her place the bag in the back seat then he placed his eyes on the road ahead. “It was cool, I went to the gym to get back on track with working out and shit. How was your session with Halle? Y’all put down anything you like?” He asked curiously before he propped his arm behind his head, relaxing as she drove to their destination.

Between their last text conversation and now, DANIEL had been to the gym and took a short nap to gain some energy before he got ready for their date tonight. Hearing CHLOE call out his new nickname made him kiss his teeth before he leaned up off of the bed with his phone in his hand. Sending his last text message to one of his close friends, he slipped the phone in his pocket before he turned his head towards the bedroom door to watch her enter. “I got ready not too long ago...” His words trailed off as he looked at the small gift in her hand once she made her way over to him. Taking the gift from her hand, he questioned her lowly “what you get me, baby?” 

He placed the gift bag in his lap before opening it to reveal the small box. The male bounced his eyes between box and her face before he finally opened the black top to disclose the gold ring embedded with diamonds in it. A smile spread across his face then he shook his head with a soft laugh before he slipped the ring on the middle finger of the right hand. “This hard, baby. Thank you. I’mma fuck around and wear this shit every day, but since we going on some mysterious adventure, I’ll put it up.” He often spent time finding accessories to match his outfits and he appreciated her taking the time to purchase something that he would wear every day with her in mind. Rising to his feet, he placed his left hand on her waist before he pressed his lips against her forehead as his hand reached up to cup her chin, connecting their lips a few times before he mumbled against her set. “So, what you got planned for me? Or is it a surprise?” He pulled away after asking his question, placing the ring back in the box and grabbing personals.

Sucking his teeth, DANIEL shot a look in CHLOE’s direction, “you gon’ get enough of calling me cute,” he stated lowly before putting his hands up. “I’m judging you, just pointing out something I noticed.” A chuckle falls from his lips then he dropped his hands back down. His eyebrows furrowed together as she questioned him, looking down at her once she leaned into his chest. The joke Chloe let off caused the amused look on his face to fade as he paused briefly before finally replying. “Oh, word?” He nodded his head while smiling to himself. “You funny.” He said as he brought his finger up to point at her then he dropped his hand in his lap. “Remember you said that, Chlo.” DANIEL’s voice lacked any emotion, leaving it to her interpretation to choose if he was serious or not. “You just love bossing me around, don’t you? You better be glad you cute when you do it.” He confessed to his girlfriend before he remembered one of the tasks that he had to do for the house. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled his phone out to text one of his associates about the nearest art gallery or showing they could go to. “You got anything in mind that you want for the house? Art and photography wise?”

“You do. Look who you wit’.” The male bragged with a wide smile on his face. His eyebrow raised while he watched her open her bag to get the next candy of her choice, “You got a big ass sweet tooth, don’t you?” He teased before a low chuckle followed his statement. A look of nonchalant look settled in on his face then he scoffed at her. “You stuck with me for life, shorty. I don’t know what you talkin’ bout. I should get a pass, honestly.” He shrugged his shoulders before he moved closer to CHLOE, wrapping his arm around her waist as they watched the movie. Leaning over, he connected his lips to her temple a few times then he pulled away to speak to her. “Maybe I’ll watch all the movies and become a true fan for you. We’ll see.”

“It tastes good as hell.” He admitted to the woman before taking his eyes off of the screen to watch her eat the ice cream then hand the bowl to him. Scooping the mixed ice cream onto the spoon, he ate some more of the dessert then he placed the bowl in between them. DANIEL’s face slightly scrunched up at her response to his former statement, shaking his head as he replied to her. “I haven’t even seen it long enough to even know if it was good or not. I lowkey just watch the movies that get the most hype. I’mma fake marvel fan.”

Taking his response into consideration, DANIEL stared at his close friend blankly before nodding his head to reply. “You look like you been smokin’ since you woke the hell up. I’ono how y’all niggas do it. I tried once and almost died.” He exaggerated as he turned his line of vision back towards the screen to analyze the scene that currently played. “You really gon’ keep askin’ me if they gon’ die instead of watchin’?” He quizzed before kissing his teeth and finally replying to the male. “Nah, they don’t.” DANIEL spoke vaguely, not giving away too much information about the ending of the movie.

A smile spread across his face at the sound of her reply to him. Having missing her voice during the days he hadn’t seen her. “Thank you, baby.” DANIEL mumbled back to her before he leaned forward to take the spoon in his mouth, pulling the ice cream off of it. “Mm, what flavors you mix?” His question came out slightly muffled as he swallowed the rest of the ice cream. “Yeah, and shit like Dr. Strange. My ass wouldn’t last 10 minutes.”

DANIEL nodded his head at his reply before he quickly glanced in his friend’s direction once he felt his eyes on him. A laugh escaped from his mouth at the stoned look on SKI’s face. “Nigga, have you been smokin’ all day?” He asked slightly intrigued. Despite him not being a smoker, he tended to have friends who indulged in the activity. “Yeah, this movie most definitely ain’t that deep to have me crying and shit. It’s worth the watch, though. Shit had me hype.”

“You gonna give me some of that?” He asked before he sat down next to his girlfriend. Peering inside of the bowl, he examined the different ice cream flavors with a cocked eyebrow then he slowly nodded his head in approval. He reached down to dust off his sweatpants before he placed his eyes back on the screen in front of them. “All of them? I’ll probably fall asleep after a few because there are some snoozers in the marvel movie collection. Not gonna lie to ya’.”
