A prism in the sunlight- multifaceted and at times sparkly. Life has recently thrown me a couple of curve balls that have made me less sparkly at times, I'll get back to my sunny-side up self but for now I'm enduring and getting through adjusting to life with not one but two Autoimmune conditions. So if you are still following along, thank you for being along for this journey with me, if you are just joining me, welcome, and buckle up....its been one hell of a ride so far, and I'm sure it is going to continue to be for a while! In Nov 2013 I was diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It is an autoimmune condition that makes my blood clot inappropriately and at the young age of 29 I was placed on Warfarin, an anticoagulant and I will be on it for the rest of my Life. I was also placed on Plaquenil as part of my treatment In January because even on warfarin I continued to have transient clotting events. In April of 2014 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Though I have suspected Lupus from the beginning. That is a story for later. Bless you if you are still reading. Welcome to my little slice of the internet. A lot of my story feeds from my blog Triumphant Wings on Wordpress.
It has been a really long time since I wrote in my blog. I know my last blog I broke up with my ex husband. Then everything I moved back to my home town, my mom, grandpa my grandma and families. There was so much love happening. Then something happened there was a love at first sight to me, it was a friend of mine that was started to date me and we were good. We were been to over a year, and he…
Do you know those days when you wake up and there is nothing left, and you are so completely consumed with emptiness that you could drown in your own tears, and there is nothing that could save you? You know, those days where if you don’t change something, and I mean something big, you will suffocate and that will be the end of it. The literal goddamn end of you. I can’t tell you how many of…
My mom sent me a picture of my old AFJROTC Ribbon Rack this evening. One of them is missing. She's looking for it. Fond memories. #AFJROTC #goodolddays #ribbons #memories #jrotc
I still have amazing fire building skills thanks to my girl scouting and camping days. Enjoying a nice fire in the fire place is one of my favorite things to do during the winter. #fireplace #fire #skills
(img credit: http://datatrans.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/jaded.jpg) Some time ago, when I was but a young girl, I lost my faith in God, humanity (most of it anyways), and in this world every surviving. I learned as a little girl big churches are full of deceit, hypocrites, liars, cheaters, people pretending to be something they are not to save face among neighbors. This was not a…
(img via Nomadic Lass http://www.girliestgeek.com) Today provided cause for celebration. Today for the first time since the end of October my INR is back in range!!!! It was a solid 3.3! Today Dr. C said “See you back in a MONTH”! Today I sighed the largest sigh of relief I have sighed in a long time, simply because of a test result. This may also mean we have figured out the new dose of warfarin…
Several weeks ago a couple things happened. I already mentioned I changed my anti-anxiety medication and my sleep medication. The update to this happening is that anxiety wise, for the most part I am in a much better place than I was while I was on Mirtazapine. Side benefit I have also lost 17.2 lbs since I changed to Venlafaxine and Trazodone. Granted most of the time I don’t have an appetite…
Made a new pink by mixing 1 part Ion flamingo 2 parts Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink and and to 2 parts white conditioner. Loving it. Let it sit in my hair for a couple hours while catching up with a good friend on the phone and other self care tasks yesterday evening. #manicpanic #hothotpink #ioncolorbrilliance #flamingo #haircolor #diy
Oh Max, my spiked one. It's hard to believe you are gone. Rest well little guy. I hope you are in a place with as much scrambled eggs as your little heart desires buddy. 😥
There as a time not too long ago I was at home in my body. I was confident, I felt proud who I was as a person. I did not struggle with processing how others viewed me, nor did I care so much about how they viewed me. Body image was not a problem for me until a of couple years ago, now I can’t stop seeing the flaws, and it really cuts me deep when someone points something out. My soul feels…
One of my favorite taping methods we learned today. My partner @wuggied did a fantastic job with this and it's helping with the inflammation I have in that knee! This is two fan cuts over lapping to help the lymphatic system drain an area of inflammation. Great for bruises and a number of injuries as well! #kinesiology #kinesiologytherapy #kinesiotape
