“Well, why not?”
“Of course you’re invited, I’m just kidding. If only there were a party.”
“That’s bullshit. I’m invited to every party.”
“Not this time, you aren’t.”
“Did everyone die or is there a party I’m not aware of?”
“There’s definitely a party you’re not aware of.”
Maxxie slowly nodded. He went back to reading. Groaning when he heard him talking to him again. “It would be…if I can get past page ten.” he said, glaring at Josh.
“Right, of course.” Josh mumbled, seeing the glare the patient shot him. Despite the other’s hostile expression, the doctor stood still in his position.
Boring, everything is boring, And every day is the same, Every day is exactly the same.
Maxxie was happy, for once that day. When he heard faint footsteps, he didn’t pay them mind. Pretending not to notice, he prayed they weren’t going to talk to him. Groaning, Maxxie looked up to see the doctor. “Oh…it’s you.” he said. He arched a brow. “It matters…why?”
Josh had never heard of the book before, nor had he any interest in ever reading it. “Just wondering, no real reason.” He had expected that the patient to be disappointed when he saw the doctor, so his negative reaction wasn’t a surprise to him. “Is it any good?”
“Yeah, Duh.” Trenton gave a weak fake laugh feeling stupid but trying to control his temper. How’d you get your hands on smokes in here?”
“I buy them at the store whenever I get groceries.” Josh explained to the patient. “I’m a free man.”
“Well shit ightski what is it then?”
“Cigarettes. Duh.” Josh rolled his eyes jokingly, chuckling at the other male.
“That something wouldn’t happen to be a bowl i could spin would it?” Trenton scoffed only half joking.
“Nope. That’s not the something I’ve got.”
Withdraws setting in made Trenton reasonably agitated. “Who’s dick you gotta suck to get a smoke in this place.”
“I’m pretty sure you’re not allowed to smoke in here.” Josh commented with a grin. “But I might have something.”
Maxxie had been in a slightly agitated mood all day. Though he still had his collar on, he was wearing a jacket to hide it. He heard he had a new roommate and he’s been at the asylum for a few days now but since he has been with Damien, he hasn’t seen him. He walked out of the bathroom, smelling slightly like vomit as he had just purged his last meal. He went to the library and sat down, starting to read a book.
Josh had been wandering around the halls, all his paperwork done for the day. Mindlessly walking around, Josh ended up in the library, spotting a figure on the opposite side of the room. Not familiar with the library, he walked up to the patient, curious of what he was doing. “What are you reading?”
“Want to show me around, a little?” The girl asked softly.
“I can show you the common rooms.”
“Hey, I didn’t think you were listening to me.” Kaneki looked, almost apologetic at the man standing in his doorway. “Did you need something?”
“Wasn’t I supposed to be listening?” Josh asked, slightly confused. “Someone told me you wanted to see me. Or maybe I heard wrong, and I’m going crazy myself. Or they lied. Both is possible.”
Kaneki sat at his desk then sighed. “I really wish I didn’t have this stupid injury.” He looked down at his leg. He wanted to rip it off. He couldn’t though. Not unless a new leg would magically grow back. “At least I have something to do with my life. The job Mr. Rosenfeld offered me doesn’t pay badly.”
“There’s not much I can do about that.” Josh said in an apologizing manner, feeling sorry for the man. “Shit happens, life sucks.” He shrugged, his posture making him look tense due to his hands that he’d stuffed in his pockets and his head that was looking towards the ground. “I have to agree. This isn’t the worst job.”
She shook her head. “Not really no but i brought all of my clothes. Even a stupid bathing suit so lets hope theres a pool.” She said. “Have you been around much?”
“There’s a pool here, yeah. It’s downstairs.” Josh said, gesturing in the direction of the pool. “I’ve been around a little.”
She nodded. “Understood. ” She smiled and stood up.
“Have you explored the place yet?”
“Do you need any help with anything? I dont want to be alone plus i think it would help.”
“I can’t let a patient touch those papers, but thanks for the offer. I could wait for a little while before I do them though.”
