Angela knew that Julia wouldn’t be at Pounce and Play, since her fellow vet was still on shift when she left the office, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to stop in to see the animals after work. She stopped in most days, either during her lunch or after work was over. It wasn’t because she didn’t trust in the abilities of the people who worked there, she just always felt better when she saw how well all of the animals there were doing.
Besides, whenever she had a bad day at work, she knew she could pop in there - and seeing all of the animals always was a surefire way of making her smile again. The people who worked there all seemed nice as well, although she didn’t talk to them very much. Then again, she didn’t really talk to anyone very much. Not even her own sister.
As she headed inside, she heard the bell jingle and sighed softly. If only the bell didn’t announce her arrival every time. As soon as it did, she always blushed and awkwardly looked around to see who was going to come greet her. She didn’t like feeling like the center of attention.
When she spotted Julia’s childhood friend, and one of the only people she regularly spoke to, other than Julia, she gave the faintest hint of a smile as she strode forward.
“Good afternoon, Bob.” she nervously clasped her hands together in front of her as she glanced around, never able to hold eye contact with him for too long. “Sorry to disturb you again. I just wanted to see how the animals were doing today....”
