You are better than god. To you? Always. I will laugh the entire time, I promise. If you blow this, Midge… The way he held her in Miami. The softness when he gave her the glass in the hotel. The way he holds her when she wants to leave his bed. The gentle, gentle way he interacts with her, even right after she’s found his drugs.

And the only times he shows his harder side? In her apartment, when he’s vulnerable and exposed. Getting her out of the Wolf, when he’s worried about her. After Carnegie, when he’s pleading with her to understand how much her career means to him.
